1621  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do coin swap platforms work? on: October 19, 2022, 01:20:55 PM
ChangeNOW.io has bad reputation in Bitcointalk forum and they have never resolved it completely.

Their representative at the forum: ChangeNOW has lot of negative trust feedback and they have active scam accusations

2,5 BTC ($100K) SCAM Changenow exchange. I did not read details but if you intend to use their service, you should read it.

In addition, what you do is convert your BTC to ETH, not swap. Swap is on decentralized exchanges, with tokens on a same network (same blockchain). Or did you swap WBTC to ETH? Remember WBTC is not Bitcoin, it is only a derivative token.
1622  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin.ag-$25k Handicapper Battle-BTC ETH XRP LTC XMR XRP USDT DOGE SHIB Casino on: October 18, 2022, 02:42:33 PM
I knew about Betcoin.ag long enough but I did not know the connection between Betcoin.ag and Playbetr.

There are some casinos that belong to the same team:
  • 777coin and Bitvest
  • Primedice and Stake
  • Sporstbet.io, Bitcasino.io and Livecasino.io
  • How about Betcoin.ag and Playbetr?

I ask the question because weeks ago, I saw event which was co-hosted by Betcoin.ag and Playbetr and last week, all participants from the [ON HOLD] PlayBetr campaign was moved to Betcoin.ag campaign.

Was the ownership of Betcoin.ag changed recently?

It would definitely be a bad situation if they shared information, but assume that there is a scammer, and you have the information of that scammer, would you not share it?
Should not share. Because you should not arbitrarily break your ToS as well as reject to protect user's privacy by any reason.

You can share but personal information should be hidden (blurred). For full detailed sharing, you can wait for police request and submit all related documents to police.

Quote
There are many places that share the doxxed information of scammers, like for example the launchpad pinksale does that very often, they usually have the doxxed information of projects and that means if the project does a rugpull and steals everyone’s money, they share the doxxed information of everyone involved.
It is not a reason you dox someone else. As a company, you have to obey to law and as I know, law is against doxing others. It is for the safety of a company and avoid any unnecessary lawsuit. In some nations, company has to obey to GDPR too.

Even in Bitcointalk forum, doxing is not allowed. You can read it in forum rules.

Q: What about deleting DOXes?
A: Nope, we don't delete them either as long as they comply with the following rules:

<...>
1. Personal information must be confined to the new "investigations" board (under Scam Accusations), which is only visible to Members and above. Personal information is defined as anything which links a user's online identity (username, email, etc.) to their meatspace identity, excluding links that the person himself has posted. It is not allowed to post somebody's personal information in any other public place, including in signatures.
2. It is not allowed to post someone's dox if it is especially obvious that you're just using the dox as a weapon. For example, if there are no remotely-plausible trade complaints, then the person can't be a scammer, and their dox should not be posted.
3. As before, anything that the legacy insecure government/banking system requires to be secret is not allowed anywhere. This includes social security numbers, credit card numbers, and certain account numbers.
<...>

Why aren't they deleted? Because such doxing is just compiling information about a user already available publicly, often via search engines.
1624  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 7 tips from cybercrime experts to stop hackers in their tracks on: October 18, 2022, 02:16:30 PM
Keep track of the latest cybercrime techniques so that you’re aware of them when browsing.
Most of us don' track it. Personally I don't have time to track all of reports about cybercrime. Prevention is better. If you have good prevention by a healthy web-surfing practice, you are likely safe even you don't know about a newest trend of cybercrime.

Quote
Another way to avoid being the victim of cybercrime is to install anti-virus software and keep software up to date, as updates generally upgrade security and remove bugs.
Not completely safe with anti-virus software or Internet security software. They rely on pseudo heuristic to detect potential threats. Sometimes they give you true positive
but sometimes they give you false positive as well as false negative too. So again, prevention is better than relying on AV or Internet security software.

Quote
Never open suspicious emails or links.
True. But prevention is better again. You should reserve your main email for important things and only use sub emails for non important things. Example when you want to explore a new born platform, let's use your sub email for that. You will receive less spam, phishing email in your main email.

Quote
Passwords should be regularly updated.
It is non sense if you use a weak password.

Quote
Enable two-factor authentication on online accounts wherever possible.
Backup your 2FA too and don't forget that 2FA means it should be stored on a different device than the first device you log in your email, your exchange account  with password and so on.
1625  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New Youtube Scam in Action on: October 17, 2022, 11:55:25 AM
It's a basic but vital step for everyone in cryptocurrency. Don't trust, verify.

And if you want to find some information about one project, let's get started with Coinmarketcap.com and Coingecko.com. I strongly advise to use both sites for double-checking.

Let's practice with Bakery swap. Searching on both sides and you will get links to Bakery swap.

If you want to cross checking more, you can search with search engines like Google but remember search engines should be a later step, not a first one to do. If you use search engine firstly, you will more easily fall into phishing sites.
1626  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Celsius Exchange Data Dump Is a Gift to Crypto Sleuths—and Thieves on: October 17, 2022, 11:49:23 AM
Celsius, a cryptocurrency exchange facing bankruptcy, leaked an enormous collection of its users' transaction data through an unusual sort of privacy breach: a court filing. As part of its bankruptcy proceedings—in which the company's owners are accused of pulling tens of millions of dollars worth of crypto out of the exchange before revealing its insolvency—the company's attorneys released a document that appears to include the transaction data of half a million of its users from April of this year until it ceased trading in June.
This is insane but it awakens people that they should be more careful when consider whether to use centralized services or not.

Why do they have to pick centralized services if they can have decentralized services to choose?
Why do they have to pick custodial wallets to use if they can have non-custodial wallets to use?

Decentralized services and non-custodial wallets are better for privacy and you don't have to worry about data leak. However, not all decentralized services as they advertise are actually decentralized. I would prefer to use non-custodial wallets as my main priority.

Data leaks can occur in many types even in unbelievable or unexpected ways like Celcius case.
1627  Economy / Gambling / Re: WINZ.IO 🚀 WELCOME BONUS: 300 FREE SPINS 🎁 43 ETH ETHEREUM ADVENTURE 🌕 on: October 17, 2022, 11:43:16 AM
As it was correctly pointed out we do not share any customer’s personal information in forums as well as detection methods as discussing this openly would backfire.
Your team are doing a right thing as privacy for users should be one of first priorities.

No matter how serious or how many accusation against your casino, privacy of users must be protected. If anything to be shared to resolve any accusation, personal information should be hidden. For full details, it should be done in support ticket only. Such information should never be shared publicly on this forum or anywhere else.

In complicated cases, it can be shared to mediators for further investigation but with agreement with your user first.

3 years ago, theymos raised the topic and asked community about Bitcointalk.org collectible coin ?. Later, I remembered one member who is famous in Collectible board created another topic about that but nothing was done after all.

Do you want to continue it?

I suggest if you want to create something, you should focus on important events in history of Bitcoin especially Bitcointalk.org forum.

1629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TAMADOGE to $1 soon? on: October 14, 2022, 04:02:51 PM
How far will this coin go will greatly depend on mainstream market demand. $1 per coin seems to be impossible for TAMADOGE right now, but with a decent trading volume, anything could happen. It's best to take advantage of the short pump in price to sell your coins at a profit before it's too late. Who knows if TAMA gets replaced by another "meme" coin soon? Just my opinion Smiley
If Axie AXS can touch $200, TAMA can touch $1 but with so many conditions.

Trading volume should be big and they must be listed on other Tier 1 exchanges especially Binance.
Their marketing team must create hype in the air and I think they can do it from their successful sales.

However, my advice is even if TAMA touches $1, it is temporary price on market and it won't actually reflect value of the token. I expressed my opinion above about weaknesses of Play to Earn concept and I don't see how Tamadoge project will be able to solve it.

You said its pre sale is a success? Then it's a good sign or a good start rather. The team and those who invest on it will get motivated to improve the game more and to invest more money. It's not literally a meme project but it is a project with purpose (it's a p2e game).
It is a success for their team as we can not say raising $19M within about 1 month is not a success. In addition, so far it brings success and profit to investors in either beta sale and presale. But if you are speculator after their listing and buy with price higher than $0.04, you are in loss now.

That project is at beginning and if it breaks $0.2 and makes a new all time high, you can consider to sell it. Because with Play to Earn projects, a longer you stay, a higher risk to lose.

Hi sir @Hhampuz I hope you would not allow AI generated artwork in Roobet Contest.
As we are aware that AI artwork are just combination of all available resources on the internet and that will be a plagiarism if someone submitted an entry that is AI Generated.
With this case, you have two options to show your opinion and support for Roobet and the manager
It is not relevant to make it in the Announcement thread of Roobet.  Wink

Quote
I humbly suggest that we require a work in progress in every entry 😅
I don't join those contests so I don't know about rules but in the past, I looked at them and I saw that most of participants submit their work-in-progress and completed ones. Especially winners all have those things.

Not sure they did it because of contest rules or just to show how they worked behind the scene.
1631  Other / Meta / Re: See this burst poster here. on: October 13, 2022, 10:04:23 AM
My assumption is indeed that the classification as "burst posting" should be related to low quality posts. It doesn't make sense to complain when someone makes many good posts in a row. Once in a while I forget to post a post, and find that tab back right after posting another post. That means I have posts just seconds apart, and there's nothing wrong with that.
My stance is the same too. Quality of post is more important but yahoo wrote about it already. He accepted those posts because of decent quality but he also emphasized that he need a longer interval between posts.

If a poster does not have a style like:
- Find topics to join discussions, then start to reply on those topics, time interval between posts should be 5 to 10 minutes. I believe it should be like this. Because it is not easy to find relevant topics to comment.

Quote
However, from a campaign manager's (advertising) perspective, I get that they want their exposure to be spread evenly throughout the week.
Spreading throughout a week is a fine and reasonable requirement.

Spreading throughout a day is not a solid requirement because one campaign has so many participants who are from different time zones. I believe this requirement if exists, is more related to post quality.

1633  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why are crypto exchanges not truthful? on: October 13, 2022, 05:52:01 AM
Some crypto exchanges are so annoying, they lied to new users just to make them sign up on their websites, what is there gains luring people with this trick that ruins their trust?
It only ruins their reputation if it is not common in the industry or in society. If it is common, it is not harmful because community is familiar with that already.

Quote
I signed up on Bybit through an ad that says free 1500$ for first depositors and after clicking I was forced to make first deposit and I later find out that the free 1500$ is for futures trading and you still need to trade futures with your money,  why can't the ad says free 1500$ for futures trading?
It is a marketing trick. Similar to when sell price is something like $999 rather than $1000. Just a marketing trick and somewhat gives people more comfortable feeling when they want to buy something. About bonus, it is attractive for users but you should read more details at their website about a specific program. Don't think you get all information in an advertisement banner that is short and contains keywords only.

If you are seriously, spending a few minutes to read their full details about that program is not a big issue.
1634  Other / Meta / Re: See this burst poster here. on: October 13, 2022, 05:46:28 AM
Irony, double meaning and sarcasm doesn't seem to be your things,  as far as I can see. But partly that helps me to confirm the idea I had: that you don't consider the last 5 posts I wrote before this one, the 5 written yesterday as burst posting, probably because you don't consider them of low quality.

It's simply that I recently had a disagreement with someone I respect about what is burst posting and that person considers that I sometimes border on what would be burst posting because I write at wider intervals than that.

Normally, when I'm fresh and rested, and I've just had a coffee, I usually write 3 or 4 posts in an average interval of 10 minutes, rather than 5 like I did yesterday. If the community does not consider my yesterday's posts as burst posting, it helps me to reaffirm myself in my idea.
There are many factors to consider burst posting

  • Quality is main factor. If your posts are short and very low quality but they are written in short period. Only these are enough to judge as burst posting
  • Quality is good. Assume so, there are other things behind it. Because posters have many ways to post. You can scan forum topics, and pick ones that you are interested in, want to join discussion. Next, two options to make your posts
    • Compose each post and publish it instanly. Most of us posting in this way with which time interval between posts should be long enough. Especially if you find topics, make one post, then find other topics and make other posts.
    • Compose each post, reserve it in draft and publish all posts in a batch. That would case a more likely burst posting.

Years ago, actmyname tested how many posts he can make in 60 minutes.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk is one of the keys to be 100k$ per Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2022, 02:13:42 PM
Do you think Elon Musk is one of those who will push the price of bitcoin up to reach 100k$ each when the bull run comes?
Why Elon Musk?

We are thinking about Elon Musk and his effects on cryptocurrency market too much. Bitcoin price is organically grown with halving cycles and each deflationary cycle. Elon Musk, Jamie Dimon, Michael Saylor or anyone else is only additional factor to bring Bitcoin to new all time highs. They are not decisive reasons and they are only supplementary reasons for Bitcoin growth.

If it is not Elon Musk, there will be another person or other people will mention about Bitcoin in next bull run but as said, don't believe that is real reason for Bitcoin growth.

The Bitcoin Treasuries list will be expanded more seriously.
1636  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to calculate how much the price of BTC? on: October 11, 2022, 12:26:37 PM
How can I calculate the price potential of BTC within the next 1-10 years?
If Bitcoin won't die, it will be accepted more globally. And if it continues its existence and expands its adoption, with each halving its price will be boosted to a new higher all time high.

I can not give you predictions about future price because it depends on so many parameters and many of them I can not control.

However, if you want to get something about current and near future vision, you can use the Realized price chart from Lookintobitcoin.com. Currently we are in a good price range to accumulate and DCA Bitcoin. You can wait for a bit lower price but don't bet on too lower price, you might miss a train.

1637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TAMADOGE to $1 soon? on: October 11, 2022, 11:54:00 AM

a lot of meme tokens and eventually became rugpull too, but I saw that there was a little oddity in their smart contract like the picture above that it could be printed in Tamadoge making it easier for developers to print a lot and then throw it away
In their Whitepaper, they reserve 600M tokens to mint in next 10 years. It is utility of the mint function that is red flagged on Coinmarketcap as you see.

No one knows what their actual intention to reserve 600M tokens for 10 years and the mint function. We are right to be doubtful about that but only time can tell us what they will do with the mint function.

Their total supply is 2 billion tokens, not 1B. The 1.05B tokens you see on Coinmarketcap is self-reported circulating supply. Their tokenomics is like this: 1B tokens for beta sale and presale; 400M tokens for exchange listing; and 600M tokens will be minted in coming 10 years. Check with their Whitepaper.

I am curious why OKX listed this shitcoin. I saw the price and it's dumping, only good at the beginning.
If Binance listed Shiba Inu and when community asked them why. They answered it is because of trading volume and community request. So OKX might give a similar answer but it is not strange. Exchanges care more about trading fee which is part of their income.
1638  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: TAMADOGE to $1 soon? on: October 10, 2022, 10:38:43 AM
There's a new "meme" coin on the market called "Tamadoge". It had a pre-sale for quite some time which turned out to be a huge success.
Totally they raised $19M from beta sale and presale so you are right to call it as a huge successful crowd sale.

Quote
According to the website, the "meme" coin will have its own P2E (Play-to-Earn) game where you can earn TAMA on the ETH blockchain.
The concept and financial model of Play to Earn is broken that result in huge selling pressure from gamers. They have to buy NFTs at beginning and can play to earn forever (in most Play to Earn projects) that is unbelievable.

Tamadoge has idea to reduce this buy-once and use-forever NFTs with Tamaghost. It is a smart step to reduce selling pressure. To support this, support token price, they have buy back and burn from their Tama store with which 5% of money by selling NFTs in store will be used for that purpose. I can not deny it is good strategy from Tamadoge team but I don't believe it is enough to balance their finance model.

Quote
Whenever the project will be a success or a failure in the long run, it's yet to be seen. While I don't think TAMA will become extremely-valuable in the future (it's a "meme" coin after all), it could certainly become a profitable venture for early investors within the short-term.
Play to Earn projects are projects for non-gamers to play and earn. Real gamers don't play it that is hilarious.

Quote
What do you think about this coin? Is it a scam or is it legit?
Scam or legit won't help all people get profit because it's a zero-sum game.

Quote
Do you think it's possible TAMA will reach $1 within the not-so-distant future?
I don't believe in its financial model and its future but in near future, I believe Tamadoge team can create hype and price will make higher all time highs. $1 is somewhat possible price for it but I don't recommend it to anyone. It's risky!
1639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 10, 2022, 10:10:16 AM
Udinese is having the best start since early 2000's I think and they are looking solid and ready to taste that European competitions for next years but battle will be hard and long with both Lazio and Roma looking to take their place.
Udinese are playing very impressively especially if we take into account their limited resources. I think in top 6 of Serie A, Udinese have less quality in terms of players they have.

Quote
However, funny how Roma scored only 1 goal against Lecce who had a red card from 1st half ... . Maybe Roma needs to work a bit more on their attack as victories like this are sometimes on the line to be lost or draw.
Roma won another match and jumped to the fifth position but the cost is high. They lost Paolo Dybala for unknown time and it might be until early of 2023. Dybala has contributed goals and assists for Roma so his absence will be a big headache for Mourinho and it might affect general performance of AS Roma too.

Napoli has become a strong candidate to get a trophy in Serie A this season if Napoli can continue to win consistently and not draw many. Because of the nine matches that have been played by Napoli, none have ended in defeat but only won and the other two were draws. This shows that Napoli already has better potential this season and will also be candidates for champions in Serie A this season.
When Juventus loses their strength and domination, if any other team can play well enough, they will have big chance to win Scudetto. Just similar to AC Milan in the past season and in this season, Napoli can achieve the same.

So far we can see a very crowded race in top four and even expand to top six. It makes Serie A more interesting but also brings more challenge to all involving clubs. If you can not play well enough, you will lose your ranking very quickly.
1640  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How can all (or most) cryptocurrencies rise and fall at the same time? on: October 10, 2022, 07:56:08 AM
Not all cryptocurrencies rise or fall at the same time. Depends on a current trend, the number or rising ones would be higher than the number of falling ones and vice versa.

Let's see the image for Pathways to Alt season. It is taken from Secretsofcrypto

Bitcoin is a leader of cryptocurrency market with highest trading volume, oldest history and most dominating role.

A bull run or bear run of crypto market has to be triggered by Bitcoin. That is presented in the infographics as Bitcoin first, Ethereum later, top altcoins and low-capped, shit coins.

In aspect of capital flow, you can explain this flow too. Institutional investors, whales have to pick a coin that has enough high trading volume for them in order to easily enter and exit. Bitcoin is the best choice in this term and the second best one is Ethereum.
