CBDCs are still fiat currencies that are made digital. They're not much different from the fiat that we use through fiat online wallets. It's just that there's no more hard cash representing them. They remain centralized because they're still issued by governments' central banks. They are still subject to the same inflationary mechanism. They're still continuously devalued. They're still under the control and decision of a few powerful individuals. The disadvantage, however, is that they're more easily tracked, monitored, frozen, seized, confiscated.
I believe CBDCs are worst than fiat currencies in terms of inflation. There are less production cost for CBDCs than fiat currencies. Much less infrastructures for minting, maintenance and so on. Governments can mint $T in one click when they want to do this without prerequisite to have paper, polymer, print, printing machines, human resources etc. This brings convenience to governments that in turn will make their inflationary management worse. The point is it doesn't actually compete against Bitcoin.
CBDCs will never compete directly with Bitcoin. What they compete is usage demand from their citizens by choosing either fiat currencies or CBDCs. |

Bitcoin created first or Binance exchange created first? and if I remember correctly, binance has only been around since 2017 and before that we also had many other centralized exchanges. All of them have a lifespan and are always replaced by other exchanges from time to time. So there is no reason that when binance dies the cryptocurrency will also disappear, but if bitcoin dies there is a high probability that the market and exchanges will be gone.
Binance or tether or any other company or project is just a part of this market, so without them there would be another product to replace them.
Exchanges come and go but we can not deny that if Binance collapse like FTX, its impact should be bigger because they are a bigger exchange than FTX. Their chain, Binance Smart Chain is bigger than Solana too. Unless their report - Our Commitment To Transparency - is cooked, their finance management is good and healthy. According to this, they did not use customer money inappropriately and did not take too high risk like FTX. Tether is a biggest stable coin and its impact (if it collapse) would be bigger than UST impact in May 2020. Fiat is not completely anonymous but it can still be anonymous, just like criminals use fiat to launder money and do their evil deeds without being detected by the police. But if we get rid of fiat completely and replace it with CBDC, things can be very different because the government can control everything even our smallest actions.
But it is true that CBDC cannot affect bitcoin because in my opinion bitcoin is not a currency but an asset more like gold, but regulation will affect bitcoin.
Both fiat currencies and CBDCs are traceable but with CBDCs and blockchain technology, governments can have more easily to do their works. If Bitcoin is preferably kept in Centralised exchange i think it is no longer decentralised to the owner because the don't have the keys to unlock and spend their coin but rather the rely on this third party intermediaries who decide how much the are eligible to transfer depending on their KYC verification level.
KYC is another issue but the most important factor is "Not your keys, not your coins" with or without KYC, it is always true. I believe private keys is what makes every Bitcoin owner decentralised not just the coin itself

The fear of misplacing seed phrase and private keys is still a big concern to many who believe they are careless with storing and keeping important datas.

I more like one information - Next Diff Adj (Next Difficulty Adjustment). It is useful to get an estimation for next adjustment on network difficulty especially if it is congested and miners shutdown their ASICs massively by whatever reasons (serious temporary loses or floods, catastrophes, bans on mining etc.) I know other Bitcoin block explorers have that information too but for the one you shared, it is what I like most. |

Above all, there are scrapers to archive your post or thread so even if admins delete it on the forum for you, it won't completely be erased on the Internet. Exchanges regularly consolidate their small inputs from users and from leftovers in change address after processing user withdrawal requests. This time, Binance chose a 'right' time to consolidate their inputs massively.  Fortunately, no domino effects to spam mempool more and it has been cleaned up gradually recent days. We also are going towards this weekend which should reduce mempool a little bit more. In the past, spamming mempool and cause more expensive transaction fee on newbie users is one of ways to make they get panic. just like you, I am attracted to using FTX because they cover part of the fees for erc20 transactions and it really helps me. Moreover, they also have very low btc withdrawal fees.
It is their attractive hook to retailed users but when they go bankruptcy, they will make compensation partially for top investors, biggest users first. It's not fair and people should know that. One more thing I did not like FTX months ago, is their Wash trading that is not a signal of a good and top exchange. When I experienced it, I did neither trade nor store big capital on FTX, honestly. Fortunately, it is how I avoided this bloody collapse. Although some of them is not quite bad after all since they really deliver, but its just we should always put our minds that however trusted they are and how big the platform it is chances that FTX scandal may still happen on one of them. So better listen to people telling that don't save your money on exchange/platforms to avoid losing it better to save our funds on our hardware wallets to be more secured.
We can enjoy good offers from big exchanges, not from new ones. First, new exchanges can give you very high bonus, very attractive offers but we don't know will they disappear after a few weeks or months of operation. Second, about big exchanges, such as FTX, no guarantee for future. So take risk, take opportunities, enjoy it and exit as soon as possible. new investors will certainly be attracted by the big prize offers. instead of getting a lot of benefits, but in the end you have to let the assets just disappear.
Even plebs can do the same mistakes like newbies. Because human instinct is unchanged and majority of the crowd can not control their greed and bad human instinct. |

I believe that the image is actually showing the Minimum Withdrawal amount, not the Withdrawal fee, which on the Bitcoin network is 0.0002 BTCs (3,39 $).
Good finding and previously I did not notice it too. Just thought the last information in the table is for Withdrawal fee for both horizontal and vertical views! If you use mobile and see it horizontally or vertically, you will have different tables with different formats and details. I can confirm by making screenshots below. Binance did not change their withdrawal fee for both Legacy and Segwit addresses but their spam on mempool in this period is suspicious. Just want to point out I'm not paranoid about anything, because I don't store a single satoshi of my money on a centralized exchange. Every exchange in the world can go bankrupt if they want - my bitcoin will be just fine.  They can go with a hack and an exit that can be a scam exit too. Few decentralised trading exchanges like Posi and Serum are surging in price, it seems people are now moving their funds to start using decentralised exchanges, what's your take on this?
It is a hype on decentralized exchanges during this chaos but things must be noted. Decentralized exchanges we have now are not truly decentralized and people are getting hyped on DEX without that awareness. Have centralised exchanges finally ruined their own reputation and people are tried of their games? I doubt this happened in the past when mt.gox faced the same fate, I really hope that's what happening presently.

It's not an ending for CEX. The story and fighting between CEX and DEX is like between fiat currency and cryptocurrency. They will both survive and exist together and they are supplements for the another to be improved and grew up. If you like Bitcoin, you will say Bitcoin will replace fiat currency in future, but it is not true. The opposite if you are fiat currency supporter, you will say Bitcoin will die in future. The actual capacity of the blockchain right now is over the daily transactions input, unlike the last event where we had more transactions each day and older ones despite paying higher than the averge at that time would be pushed at the bottom.
It is different than past congestion especially times when fee races are crazy with fee rate from 80 to 100 satoshi/ vbyte in 2020 or 400 satoshis/ vbyte in 2018. Right now you just have to outbid Binance 13.5/sat and you will get a confirmation just as you would with 1 sat last week, some will panic and pay more but there are not enough of them to outbid you and leave you outside the blocks for more than a few hours.
You just have to pay 14sat instead of 1sat/b, 50 cents is not the end of the world if you're in a hurry.
I know but it is still more expensive than usual. It is still bad for people who don't know about bumping fee with Replace-by-Fee or Child-Pay-For-Parents. After two days, it has been reduced a little bit in mempool but will Binance spam it again after increase their withdrawal fee on users. In addition, people can wait for weekends to enjoy cheaper fee rates. |

If you use Electrum, you will never have to make any withdrawal which is more relevant to exchanges. On exchanges, you will have to submit your withdrawal request, wait for their approval before they proceed it for you. With Electrum that is a SPV wallet but non custodial, you simply broadcast your transaction to Bitcoin network, with fee rate is chosen by yourself. You don't need approval from Electrum wallet but have to get confirmations from miners. |
