1261  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS: 11 Mining Cards @ 3700 MH/s - 5830/5850/6870/6950 on: May 21, 2012, 04:14:27 PM
I can't believe that no one has jumped on this, as even if they don't want everything, there is definitely resale potential for the unwanted stuff.

Think of it as an investment.

Using $5.00 as the price for BTC (in case of fluctuations), check this out:

11 Cards @ $1300 USD = 260 BTC including shipping (USA & Canada).
260 BTC /11 = 23.64 BTC per Video Card average.
23.64 BTC = $118.20 USD (again, using $5/BTC)

I have seen 5830's go for that many times, depending where they are coming from, so it's not unreasonable.

$118.20 might be a little on the high side for 5830's, but it's CHEAP for a 6950 (2 included) and CHEAP for 5850's (again, 2 included) and even cheap for 6870's (2 also included).

Obviously people only want the 5830's and 5850's, but if time were taken to Ebay the left overs, they would do WELL.

Average selling price (checking completed auctions) on Ebay.ca for:
- 6870 = $150+ including shipping.
- 6950 = $190+ including shipping.

If you can resell the 4 unwanted cards for $700 USD, that leaves $600 invested for 5x 5830's and 2x 5850's.
Again, you do the math.

I simply lack the time and motivation.
Have fun.

I added more to the list... (GPU-Z and GPU Caps Viewer)

Edit your above post and Un-quote my post/list, as I will add more when I come across it or check my rigs (to minimize confusion).

Headless = NO MONITOR/KB/MOUSE (just a network cable plugged in, that's it).

CGMiner is in this Forum's 'Mining Software' section, PINNED Post at top of page.

For CGMiner, you will need to launch it from the CMD Line using a BAT file (I do it that way) or you can create a config file.
I still prefer the CMD line and BAT file.

If you need help with BAT files, tell me what cards and I will give you 'samples' to copy/paste.

I have been mining on Windows since day 1 of my mining operation and can help if you need it.
I refused to go to Linux every time I ran into a problem...LOL

Hope that helps,
bitlane.
1264  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: List of essential software on a Windows Mining Machine (XP and 7)? on: May 20, 2012, 05:39:18 PM
Windows Stuff....

Catalyst 11.12 ('special' version of 11.12 is available for 7xxx cards, I am running it)
SDK 2.1 (for 5xxx Series Radeons)
SDK 2.4 (for 6xxx Series Radeons)
SDK 2.6 (for 7xxx Series Radeons)
CGMiner 2.4.1
MSI AfterBurner -latest version?- (for Voltage adjustments on 7xxx cards only. All other Controls through CGMiner)
VNC Software (TightVNC, UltraVNC etc) for managing 'headless' Windows Rigs, as Windows RDP DOES NOT WORK due to driver control/desktop interaction.
GPU-Z (for 'familiar' video Card Info)
GPU-Caps Viewer (GPU & OpenCL Info)

I am currently running over 11.2 GH/s over five (5) Windows 7 x64 'Headless' Mining Rigs using everything above. It's my 'Mining Bible for Windows'....lol

**For a Windows 7 Miner (such as myself), the BEST Driver is CAT 11.12 and it's the only driver I use on 3 different generations of Radeons.
11.12 for 'Windows Miners'
- NO 100% CPU Bug.
- Support 5+ Video Cards (Win7x64, I am running 3x 5-card rigs and 1x 6-card rig...most 12.x drivers that I tried DO NOT support more than 4 cards).
- As I said above, 11.12 is available even for 7xxx Cards (Special RC Version from ATI/AMD).
....It's the only driver a Windows 7 Miner really needs (just remember to use an appropriate SDK version for your specific video cards).

I could use a few 5770/6770 Cards, to fill in 'the gaps' in my miners (6th card per rig, Low Power Mining Card for a File Server etc).

If anyone has some 5770 or 6770 cards that they would be interested in trading for any of the 6870's or 6950's that I have listed, please let me know.

We can do equal value vs. equal value and I don't mind if I have to pay cash on top to get a deal done.
1266  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: FS: 11 Mining Cards @ 3700 MH/s - 5830/5850/6870/6950 on: May 19, 2012, 07:35:52 AM
I am willing to split up the package under 1 condition:

The 6XXX CARDS MUST SELL FIRST (6870's & 6950's)...as in Money-in-hand, Shipped, Gone.
NO Calling 'Dibs' (specifically for the 5xxx cards). NO Reservations on any of the cards (again, referring to the 5xxx cards).

If this condition can not be met. I will NOT separate anything.
Thanks for understanding.

OK. I am on the right track again and found cheap CPUs....lol

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/NEW-AMD-Opteron-Quad-Core-8378-2-4GHz-OS8378WAL4DGI-CPU-/130571363924?pt=CPUs&hash=item1e66a8e654#ht_680wt_1396

I will start THERE and see if I can find anything better.

As long as you can confirm that it will support Shanghai and Istanbul and not be limited to 1000Mhz HyperTransport Bus Speeds....and I can find kickass CPUs for under $100/each and 4 matching, I may very well be interested in a setup to play around with.
1268  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] MONSTER 4x PCIe 16x Quad Istanbul Mobo in 4U Supermicro case 3x 1000W PS on: May 19, 2012, 07:03:34 AM
OH! One thing I noticed:

...and I can then stuff 4x Opteron 2419 EE (40W Istanbul 6-Core) CPUs into this thing and it will be good to go ?
Where are you located ? Where are you shipping from ?

The 2419 is a 2-socket chip :\

I know.
I was referring to the Istanbul Socket F/1207, not the Lisbon Socket C32/1207.

Or did you mean it's only 2-way and not 4-way capable ?

Perhaps I have been on the LGA1366 Xeon bandwagon for too long and have no idea what chips I should look for....LOL

This screwed me up...
http://www.cpu-world.com/step_codes/C/CCAED%20CA.html

I understand it only supports a 2-way setup.
Back to the drawing board....lol
1269  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Announcement] Bitscalper under new management. on: May 19, 2012, 06:25:15 AM
bitlane, I'm willing to bet 20BTC you could never find bitscalper or whomever stole the ~1000btc, and get bitscalper users their btc back. even if your life depended on it.
With that said, it makes you a pretty god damned useless "internet detective" doesn't it...  Shocked  Cheesy  Roll Eyes

*free hint, highest probability is someone here at bitcointalk.

Everyone else in this thread that is not trying to help bitscalper users have Justice, even if it is just 0.001BTC,
you are as useful as used pieces of toilet paper.

If I gave your your 11 BTC back that you lost in the Bitscalper fiasco, would you go away quietly ?

As far as the 20 BTC bet goes, fortunately I can see a bad investment before hand and I can bet again, that you don't even have the 20 BTC to cover the bet if you were in fact to lose.
We have all now seen what happens to you over a loss of 11 BTC.....I wouldn't want to be around to witness the fallout from a loss of 20.

OK...wait a sec.

So you are saying that this BIOS Flash is guarunteed to work ? as in, You have done it previously ?
...and I can then stuff 4x Opteron 2419 EE (40W Istanbul 6-Core) CPUs into this thing and it will be good to go ?
...for 24 threads of Socket F/1207 Opteron-creamy-goodness running the HyperTransport Bus @ 2400Mhz ?

Where are you located ? Where are you shipping from ?

I don't get it...OBVIOUSLY the price is going to increase with block reward halving.
This is all win for you (10 BTC today) and NO gain for the other guy.
Like I said, you are trying to prove how smart you are, that is all. It's a complete WASTE of 10 BTC for the other party involved.

Now I know why you have so much ignores Smiley

Exactly and I welcome MORE Ignores if the opportunity arises.

Face it, you wouldn't be offering to do this....this 'favor' for someone if you didn't already know that you are getting the better end of the deal while masking the rest in bullshit....and trying to make it look 'clever'.

Good luck with your 'money making' schemes.
1272  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1000 BTC. 100% guarantee for lender on: May 18, 2012, 11:05:52 PM
So if BTC goes down to $2.50 USD....who pays who ? and how much ? (at the 1 year point?) ?

I send 100 BTC to him.

If price will be above 5.11 - I take my 100 BTC.

Just right click in the middle of a flash video, hit settings and disable hardware acceleration. I had the same problem when trying to mine on my workstation and that solved it 100% and my hash rate never suffered again....and your clocks shouldn't change if you are already running custom clocks while mining (mine didn't), then starting a video.
Of course, I am running some serious CPU(s), so your results may differ...lol

Andrew, this is just a stupid SCAM.
You are just trying to show people how smart you are....pathetic.
I can't believe that someone is going to fall for this eventually.
Oh well, since you now have me on 'Ignore', it's not like you will see this post anyways,

It was a legit sub (not troll), I don't want the whole package, but would be interested in pieces. Cheesy

I know. I just like to be the second guy 'in' on single word responses....LOL
1279  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 1000 BTC. 100% guarantee for lender on: May 18, 2012, 08:43:13 PM
Unfortunately I can't do that because I am poor and untrustworthy.

Being poor is temporary being untrustworthy is kind of for life

Anyone who has dealt with me on this forum knows that I can not be trusted.
