Pencil trick.... Reliable...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I for one would not take a pencil to my $10,000+ device.

haha, I was thinkin the same, was just curious =)
Wish there was an easier way to do it grrr..
1583  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 25, 2013, 02:49:57 AM
is it possible to do any sort of pencil trick mod to them reliably? =P I remember thats what I used to do on video cards for increased voltages.
1584  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 24, 2013, 11:22:05 PM

Where you located? So, what do you think 1.3v @ chips would yeild, at least 400?
Also, I have upgraded the fans in the unit to 2x 5k RPM 250cfm .. Currently the avy temps read maybe 45C during day time and 35C @ night.... I know this is cooler than the chips themselves but much better than stock cooling. Do you think that would cut it?

Just did quick test of 375mhz ... stable but 6.5% HW error ... think just doin wire mod will bring that down to 2%? =)

Im in Texas.   1.3v should have no problem with 400.   Im only at 1.336 and getting 460mhz.

As for cooling:  If you do good thermal paste on the backside and are in a cool environment you may get away with just air cooling.

Dangit...far =( .. time in shipping to and work probably would make it just wash out the increase in hash...rofl! Wish I knew how to do this sorta shit =/
Can you comment bout the 2nd question I posted there...
1585  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 24, 2013, 11:20:50 PM
Or even better, direct X percent of mining or X many chips toward Y pools. I'd LOVE that.
I can't fathom how this level of control serves any useful purpose.

I like to mine more than BTC.

I cold split up various accounts on PPS pools, PPLNS, etc... for alts, and for BTC. Serves infinite purpose for me. I can divide my hash at desired percents, etc...

I dont even understand why you would wanna do that...ROFL
1586  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 24, 2013, 09:34:07 PM

have any idea what thats good to or is there no spec for that?
Also, feel like doin this to anyone elses avy? =P

Id have to look up the spec on the inductor.

I would be willing to do the electrical stuff for a BTC or 2.

The watercooling stuff you are on your own.  TIG welding the shitty extruded aluminum is a pain in the ass!

But then again if you want this done bad enough I suppose Id do it all for a price...  Make me an offer I cant refuse  Smiley

I suppose Id sell my unit for the right price as well.   140ghs fastest Avalon on the planet Smiley

Yea Im impressed with the VRs on this thing!!!  Im running 1.336v measured under load.   The sense resistor is set to 1.43v

Im going to have to hook up a 2nd 12v supply!

I wonder what the Power distribution board in the Avalon can handle??!??!

So, if you had to guess, what would be the most limiting piece on the VRM section before something burns out...

Assuming you keep things cool...  Inductor reaching its saturation point would bring the party to an end.

OK... Just hooked my Watt Meter to to the 460Mhz overclocked 2 module unit and it is pulling 855watt at the wall!!!

Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I only have a 1200 watt power supply!!!  I will have to add a 2nd power supply or downclock when I add the 2nd two modules!

HOLY SHIT BALLZ! ROFL 2 modules pulling that much! DAMN! Each miner pulling around 50watts! What voltage? 1.4-1.45v?
Thats around 35amps through each VRM...Im surprised it can handle that!
1590  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC (Batch #2) Miner In-Hand (South England - International Shipping) on: August 24, 2013, 05:36:30 PM
I can flip 27btc towards your way for it. Fast shipping and using escrow! To US

its hilarious people still think 60GH is worth 30BTC.... dont kid urself dude!
I would take 30btc offer for one ... chances of it ROI'n @ 30btc are slim.

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/79a6a2a9ff

My offer of 55btc for both is still good =)
1592  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Avalon Asic batch 2 miner - in hand on: August 24, 2013, 05:28:57 PM
yeah, since the 65m diff increase... 35btc for an avy....b2 ... I dont think so.
1593  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 26 Block Erupters on: August 24, 2013, 05:27:26 PM
Ill offer 3BTC for all of it.... shipped

http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/f4d46b34f5

anything higher wont make much ROI
1594  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 4x ASICMiner Blades *In hand ready to ship* on: August 24, 2013, 06:48:48 AM
dude...really....
http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/4ba5db6041

never make ROI @ 40btc total for 4...

Ill offer 10BTC for all 4
1595  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: August 24, 2013, 05:58:25 AM

Right so...

Like I implied a few quotes back. See what it gets to with with just those settings.

PMed you.  Lets take this offline till things get working.

Thanks again!

YO DUDE! Congrats on the successful OC... hows the avy miners dealing w/ the power increase? The VRM still doin good? How much power is the unit using?
Wish I had the ballz to do this mod...lol ur at 108GH w/ 3 modules now, thats awesome!

Sorted offline, running stable at 461MHz with temporary firmware reuploaded.
--avalon-options 115200:32:10:35:400 --bitburner-voltage 1220 --avalon-temp 70

avalon batch 3 Use this command correct?
--bitburner-voltage or --avalon-voltage?
Extremely grateful!

You cant software set avalons voltage... they have to be hardmodded for voltage...
1597  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Avalon Asic batch 2 miner - in hand on: August 24, 2013, 05:47:25 AM
Ill offer 25btc
