1041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best practices to prevent hackers from stealing our crypto assets on: February 24, 2023, 07:13:20 PM
Yup, nicely suggested. Everyone has different choices though. For me I am always believing on my hardware wallet. Though I had it lost once and found it back, I had hard time recovering the wallet from the mnemonic phrases I had stored pretty well. That proved that having hardware wallet is safest place to keep your bitcoins in it. I lost it during our home shifting but it was found in new home in old furniture. In the process almost one year gone and my bitcoins were sitting just like that. I think that is enough to understand when its locked up then no one is touching it.

Only thing to keep in mind is, have the seeds, private keys safely stored somewhere which are away from any members. Having extra layer of security is always preferred. Who knows it could be million dollar worth wallet in the future.  Wink
1042  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do if bitcoin crash? on: February 24, 2023, 06:27:13 PM
If bitcoin is crashing in terms of value just like bear or something then I would go and buy more at discounted prices. Move most of the bitcoin in a cold storage and forget about them until next bull run comes by. If bitcoin crash continues further the bought range then I will buy more so that can I start doing dollar cost averaging and shifting my BEP to far lower rates to keep my portfolio in the positive side.

However, if you are saying bitcoin crash in a sense where its gonna go off, then definitely I will sell my bitcoins until time persist. But I would imagine by that time there wont be any "buyer" since it will be useless to buy bitcoin if it is gone. In that case I would just watch my bitcoins, my miners and ledger. I might just put them in showcase so that my grand children can ask about it in the future.  Tongue
1043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 24, 2023, 06:04:20 PM
Isn't it will not work just like that because we don't have enough supply yet and more than that we count/measure bitcoin in terms of fiat itself. So as long as that is happening we will always have 24K USD In our banks if we have 1 full bitcoin with us. (*as per current prices).

It can not turn down inflation just like that because it will increase the cost of purchase over the time since bitcoin is limited in circulation and high demand will automatically set the prices to higher sides. It will only be beneficial to gain capital over the time but then wont be useful while buying small stuff. How would you buy a candy bar when satoshi or milisatoshi is worth 100 bucks in the future? I am projecting that price because if we are thinking about the world which has fully accepted bitcoin and everyone wants it then that would surely be a price for it.

I could be wrong about it but maths and technical analysis would result the same conclusion. How in anyways this can help us fight inflation in any universe?

#ilovebitcoin too. Its just the criteria that is not matching here.
1044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin and no downtime till now in 11 years on: February 23, 2023, 07:31:50 PM
It has been 11 years and Litecoin is still running like a champ. In these 11 years, it never went down. One of the biggest advantages for small merchants who want to accept payment in crypto. Many merchants prefer Bitcoin & Ethereum payment but Litecoin is also something merchants should consider accepting as a payment.

What do you think guys?

Obviously that is one of the good point about LTC. However, to make it retail player on the market, the team will have to play very smart and will have to put huge marketing efforts. Without proper marketing they can not go anywhere out of their comfort box they are having since 11 years. LTC is good for its network usage however it is stagnant and peeps are using it now and then for their quick transactions mostly in exchangers or p2p from wallets straight. However, I never heard any news where a merchant has sticky note about LTC accepted here. Perhaps it will confuse people a lot in the first place since they will never grasp it quickly and what LTC mean really? Unlike bitcoin which way popular than it. That's why they will have to invest on marketing of the same and have merchandise to promote it first.
1045  Economy / Economics / Re: Is There a Lesson for Economies and Entrepreneurs to Learn from Bankruptcy? on: February 23, 2023, 07:00:24 PM
With all these things going on, I have been thinking to myself, "Is there an opportunity here?" Entrepreneurs have been characterized as people who can think outside the box. Steve Nickles, a law professor at Wake Forest University, has already said that "bankruptcies leave gaps for entrepreneurship." What do you think could be the opportunity is here for entrepreneurs?

Why not, there are many opportunities for learning what to do and what not when you become an entrepreneur. As a person of business one should always have back up plans A to Z so that one can tackle the situation like those mentioned in the OP. There are big companies and small companies as well who manage their business way advance with modern roadmaps. They always have plans on what to do if situation such as inflation / high interest rate occurs and to what level they can drop the revenue and still run the business in proper way possible.

With the marking of inflation they will pull out smart moves and still keep business operations running as it is. Any company that is under managed will reach the doors of bankruptcy but not the one that I mentioned above.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen once Hong Kong legalizes bitcoin? on: February 23, 2023, 06:43:51 PM
Some of you probably saw the news that bitcoin will be fully legal to its citizens in June. What do you guys think will happen to Bitcoin?

Just the ordinary day in the new era really. We have seen many nations giving green signals to bitcoin now and then. I have seen multiple threads about El Salvador, Nigeria, Thailand, Europe where bitcoin is treated like just the new normal thing to accept or see in the daily routine. I dont really think it has made us think about bitcoin in any way different now?

If you think it will be big advertisement to the world and the whole world will start accepting bitcoin after that then it does not make any sense because every kid on the street knows about it anyway. The OTT platforms are having documentaries and series about it which are already doing that for us. They are showcasing and featuring bitcoins in the series all the time, just like its something common to hear.

Good for locals in that country. They will at least wont have to go through hassles of banking and we can connect more crypto enthusiasts along the way.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finantial tracking app asking for BTC address on: February 22, 2023, 06:27:13 PM
It won't be a problem since you share only the public key/bitcoin address to track your net worth.

If you are concerned about your wallet privacy then you shouldn't share it with unknown apps and yes it can only watch your transaction and balances and you don't need to create a new BTC address.

All you need to know when you are in the crypto space and have to give away some random codes.  Cheesy

I have been there actually when I started very fresh in the crypto. When I first generated my address I did not even think about public and private addresses from bitcoin org website. I was so excited about it that I sent screenshot to my friends who introduced myself to the bitcoin universe. Believe me they had greatest laugh on that day in WhatsApp group.

Why would not they? I had laughable mistake but they soon taught me what went wrong. Since then I am not even taking screenshots of my addresses which is again malpractice in the crypto game.

Better learn basics before using them. As stated here it wont be problem to share your public address.
1048  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Books for trading, suggestions pls on: February 22, 2023, 06:05:55 PM
I have a link that includes trading books and also almost all guides for trading like FA and TA. Check the link below

I don't know why others still didn't know this it also includes all tools free and paid.
If you learn from that link I suggest try the trading simulator under that link free and back testing tool to test if your strategy will work.

This is very good collection and I think most of them doesnt know about it because most of them do not go around "github" bruh. It's cool you already shared it here and hopefully everyone will go through the thread to keep an eye on such valuable content. I like the idea of reading books for trading but sometimes it is more of practical application as compared to the theoretical knowledge. OP can always start with free trading account on hundreds of platforms out there who are willing to teach the clients on perfect trades. Obviously I am with both the approaches.

However as suggested in the above post, there are plenty of such tools which can let you understand more about the TA. In the process do not forget to ask questions on the forum itself where you can take leap by having perfect solution if you ever get stuck in a TA. Let us say, plotting a perfect graph to understand futures! Good luck dude. Smiley
1049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumors that US SEC would like to ban crypto staking on: February 22, 2023, 05:22:54 PM
Well they are stopping the staking due to improper operations that are followed by the centralized exchangers. I also heard that they are having such issues because of what happened last year with the FTX issues and other small to big exchanges. The problem in staking is, we literally give away our money in the hands of an exchanger for specific period. So for example if I am staking for 1 year period of time then that is officially their money and they can do whatever the hell they want with it. Over the period of time big company CEO's and owners are using these reserved funds to expand their operations and also use it for personal purposes and most of the entries are missing from the accounting books. This threatens the "savings" of an individual who is staking the money. This is SEC's one of the best decision ever. I think all the operations should move towards PoW and have real mining firing up the way coins work.
1050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Private keys posted on Bitcointalk on: February 20, 2023, 05:00:41 PM
This is interesting. As regular user of crypto I would have never imagined that there is stuff like this. In fact this was new learning for me and made me think I should be extra cautious about my private keys. Anyways, I am guy who after creating an address would think thrice which key is to be shared to public and which one not even when they mention in BOLD which one is private key and public key. Idk, there might be many of such users out there doing the same thing to avoid what has happened / mentioned in the OP.

I assume many people have systems monitoring all compromised private keys, and they're competing against each other to steal the funds before someone else does. Back in the days, it happened to large amounts of Bitcoins, but the more recent transactions are mostly small. Except for last month (January 24): this address received 0.84362383BTC, which was instantly sweeped. The private key was posted 2 months earlier:

I am surprised to read this. What kind of systems are these? How are they able to monitor if a private key is leaked or not. Its confusing to understand and it should be known to everyone so that I won't be making the mistake of leaking my private key by accident.

For example, whether it is phishing sites, or a software downloaded from play store, or any browser extension? What kind of monitor? & how does it recognize the gibberish code as pvt key anyways?
1051  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 20, 2023, 04:28:27 PM
In my country we will have different perspective to savings. There are so many things that needs savings in here whether it is kids educations, girls marriage (Most expensive ceremony in India), then savings for fulfilling the dreams. However, let me mention strongly, the last one never happens here and we end up with spending money on kids education, good life for them, marriage and some accountability for grand children. That’s all. That kind of savings we have.

Since it’s hard to manage life here with the way Salary structure works in my country. We have bank system in which you can enrol for everyday saving program. Let’s say you have enrolled for $5 per day savings then a Official guy would visit your business place everyday to collect that $5 and it will be credited to your locked funds.

In similar way there are other Government run schemes which include “Girls marriage saving”. In that above pattern is followed but government would also fund amount equally and so on.

Definitely it changes country to country and the way financial system works. But above one is just short crux about it.
1052  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 19, 2023, 12:20:31 PM
Future trading is mother of all. It has very volatile market and decisions needs to be perfect. Since the prediction window and marginal difference is really tight, it can give you huge profits in return to your prediction. However, reverse is also true and it can take down all the investment along with it, or even more if you do not sell in the right time.

However, spot is always good. You have your own time frame and its your choice whether to sell or not and its also about when to? In fact you have clear understanding of the same considering your own thoughts about it. So you are good to go for it.

I have done same thing as you mentioned, albeit unknowingly. But,

Since it only entails buying and holding until the asset appreciates just that it will only require patience since little or no technical skill is needed although with technical skill the trader can have more advantage over the market.

I disagree with this point. Buying and holding some random asset don't work and you'll likely lose money. Even if you don't do technical analysis, rough research on project helps a lot.

You cant win the trading all the time without technical analysis. That would be just random profits but you cant survive on it in the market. For a professional trader or an individual who is willing to turn trading into their routine/passive income, TA is vital part. In long run it happens to eat out profit if you do not do the research about asset you are investing into.
1053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to profit from altcoins collapses? on: February 19, 2023, 10:23:29 AM
Is it possible to profit from collapses of altcoins? Do you have any ideas how to?

If you are talking about the invested altcoins which had been dropped severely then definitely it is going to be only one option and that's to hodl your assets until they get back to the normal prices or you hit the BEP and cash out your money out of altcoins if you are not able to hodl further or doubt the project itself.

However, if you are talking about the coins which are in blood bath right now and have some good prices in the past then possibility of that altcoin getting hiked to those prices and above increase a lot more. However, this would be in comparison with the coins for whom there is no historical movement at all. Apart from this, you can be sure about the altcoins which are on the correct roadmap but they have fallen due to the current market situation and bitcoin downfall as well. Considering most of them are paired with bitcoin thus whenever bitcoin falls they will fall as well.

That would be temporary and one can easily make profits out of it.
1054  Economy / Economics / Re: Keanu Reeves says Principle behind Cryptocurrency is Amazing on: February 19, 2023, 10:01:40 AM
Like the enthusiasm these celebrities are having all the time. To be frank the word of these celebrities could change many things in the crypto space. Just like what Elon did with his action but everyone knows he did for his own fun. However, these celebrities are involved with the crypto as investors considering they are not are billionaires like Elon so they would take up this in good way.

Moreover, various series and movies are already mentioning bitcoin all the time. Whether bitcoin is being shown in negative role or the positive one, it is at the end of series is getting published to everyone through OTT platforms and social media all the time.

Sometimes what celebrities are speaking about crypto may not be based on knowledge or perfect one but whatever comes out of their mouth is publicity to the fans.  Smiley
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I asked - Which country is best suited to adopt Bitcoin in 2023? on: February 19, 2023, 08:50:37 AM
As far as we understand chatGPT is all about collective information available over World Wide Web. It was very reasonable that it will tell us about El Salvador considering the available info and all the keywords connected with El Salvador (bitcoin, legal tenders, payment processors, government bonds and investment in bitcoin and much more).

So asking AI was funny move here. Also even when I just read the title, my conscious mind itself started saying “El Salvador”, and I think we can safely state that AI was good at answering. 😜

Moreover, as bitcoin maximalist I would love to see every country adopting the bitcoin. This will boost infrastructure everywhere and it would be easy to penetrate bitcoin and have that legal tender order for borderless payments.
1056  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crashscores.com 💥 Realtime Crash Game Statistics on: February 18, 2023, 02:56:09 AM
Just amazing to watch this one. Specially the Top Moons are amusing.  Shocked
I am wondering how these guys are able to keep their hands off the keyboard and not press that cash out button until the multiplier goes as high as 2k-4K.

I am fan of Roobet Crash and the highest I have gone was 50x max. During that game I was shivering my hand as well. Its another story that I made good fortune but I can really repeat this again and again.

It seems BC is really taking over with their crash plays.  You should add feature to bet on your website and bet should be on the competition between three crash games (casinos), who will have higher multiplier in x time etc. Would be fun.  Grin
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin class with my students. on: February 18, 2023, 02:20:53 AM
I think there is upward spike of this trend where teachers, technical peeps are taking it to the next level of teaching subjects associated with bitcoin and blockchain. They should really start adding the subject in the syllabus itself so that it will be taken seriously by students as well. For example, having test papers for the blockchain related topics and bitcoin.

The Gen Z would go on the right path if they are told about it since teen age.

Good to know there are peeps like you who are always doing extra stuff out of your own passion. Surely you have chosen right topics but also kee them specific and short but quick to understand. It can sow seed of crypto space easily. Good luck mate.
1058  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 18, 2023, 12:58:53 AM
Trading is one thing which is not stable at all times. Though we have multiple methods of analysis, different bands, sticks, and everything any trade at any given time can change its direction based on various factors. It all depends where you stand in that particular trade and what’s your current position. If it’s in the direction of chart we are good, if it’s opposite things gonna get crazy.

I think it would be risky to rely on someone or blame someone afterwards if their analysis failed for above unstable reasons. Trusting someone else with your own money is always risk and no one can guarantee you profits. That’s how it works.
1059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Learn from a brother's mistake on: February 18, 2023, 12:37:27 AM
Multiple cases based on such downfall when it comes to the altcoin world. It is like new normal day in the world of Altcoins (not bitcoin ) which should make us think how seriously one should take the investments related to them. It’s been long time I have literally invested in new projects that are coming.

By experience, I am only investing on RVN and 2-3 other alts which are based on PoW, they are mineable and with limited supply. They at least have the security of proof, miners working around the clock thus keeping the economy alive all the time.

That’s the coin which are far trusted in my list and probably better to follow this filtering in long term.
1060  Economy / Economics / Re: They still think crypto is easy to manipulate? - CEO Crunchbase on: February 17, 2023, 04:57:24 PM
They are definitely saying the truth. In the real market you have securities of funds via different channels. For example a stock could be backed up by more than 50% holdings in the hands of owners or government conglomerates thus giving it firm strength to survive in the worst case scenario.

In case of crypto we already know it’s not possible. The only thing that keeps it alive is peeps trading it and it’s highly volatile in the long range. Even bitcoin shattered its graph multiple times to such down levels that pees started fearing whether it will ever come back or not?

I think dude is right and nothing is wrong with that.
