1081  Economy / Economics / Re: The lies about "If invested $1000 during IPO for MSFT you would have made $1.6m" on: February 08, 2023, 06:31:21 PM
The lies about "If invested $1000 during IPO for MSFT you would have made $1.6m"

You probably misunderstood what they're trying to say with this. Do you really expect every single person to be investing in a company in the first place? Or better yet, a company that's actually just in it's early stages of growth?

It's more of a fun fact about how taking risks can potentially pay out really well. Not necessarily the fact that everyone should be risking their money into IPOs lmao.

..adding to this, it is also next to impossible that every single person who invested in the earlier days will stay or hodl their investments until it becomes X-times what OP is stating here. There are instances when some would just leave right after that stock/share is listed, they would start dumping it after they get their returns.

Now, from this many of them will still retain and believe in the project to gain more money. They will do it eventually if company does it properly. This cycle will keep repeating itself and peeps will actually come and go along the way. Thus, the output that is mentioned by OP is inaccurate.

There are always buyer and sellers on the market. It is always two way process, when one is buying then someone is selling. So everyone could not be on same boat here!
1082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why bitcoiners are not friendly physical? on: February 08, 2023, 06:23:50 PM
We once had this locally. It was not through the bitcointalk forum but elsewhere, and local community was very happy about it. However, we just arranged to meet on outside location to hangout as "like minded" peeps from the crypto space. This was not about making exchanges with one another. Though after meeting we tried scanning our QR codes on wallets, talked about it, also imagined the future of crypto in our country and everything.

However, we did not felt that we need to meet in person in future if we ever want to trade bitcoins. I think the Pee to Peer platform / mechanism was meant with simple instructions of having no middle man, having no privacy issues and document / hassle free transactions. We still think it's not worth it to reach out the market physically and try our bitcoins. We are doing just amazing the way it is today.
1083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in new Projects (Need Suggestion) on: February 08, 2023, 06:07:27 PM
That's interesting but you should stay away from the sites like these.

Pancakes, DeFi, Stakes are some of the names they are using to drive yourself into the greediness of investment and returns. Look at the portfolio and also the %APR for the every project that they are giving away. It's just ridiculous how they are flashing you will get 5000+ APR on the BNB holdings. COme on man, do you really need any more proof than this whether the site that you have mentioned is any close to legit one?

I am pretty sure you must check and verify before investing any single penny on such sites. They are nothing but the get quick rich schemes really. I would say one can easily state the nature of it from the websites name itself!
1084  Economy / Economics / Re: America's Egg Shortage Is About to Get a Whole Lot Worse on: February 08, 2023, 05:42:14 PM
Could chickens and eggs be poised to become deflationary global commodities?

What do you mean by "deflationary"? When there's rapid inflation, everything that increases in value is "deflationary". But no one is going to buy chicken or eggs just because they are deflationary, like a speculative asset. They obviously require a lot of effort to store and have a limited life. They need to be consumed asap.

Anyway, the market and technology will solve this crisis, just like thousands of other market crisises where solved in the past.

Well its not store value or something for working group, but it is for the farmer or horticulturist. For them this would be more than business model to cultivate the eggs, reproduce, get more eggs, reproduce and so on to fulfill the market demand. Let us not forget that its business for them which means they will either increase the prices for it since they have to buy feed, give heat, protect from diseases and have quality checks before they can be sent for the consumer market.

On the other hand, I am pretty sure peeps will keep buying them from the market irrespective of the cost that is increasing. Eventually we live through inflations, we understand the price hikes and do everything that we could to keep the life circle on going.

1085  Economy / Economics / Re: America's Egg Shortage Is About to Get a Whole Lot Worse on: February 07, 2023, 08:29:40 PM
Oh so the problems of America are still exploding like surprise party every now and then. Tell me one thing about america that is going in the right direction excluding their problems.  Roll Eyes Is it getting peculiar to see different sort of problems that are rising in America lately? Has it got in connection with the country's increasing debts and thus someone wants them to be grounded as powerful nation around the globe? It could be something like that. Most of the times conspiracy's open up like this only. Slowly but steadily and one day everything explodes into war.

First america is getting into debts, second inflation is so much that jobs are getting cut down like loosing water from the hands. They are short of electricity outputs. Loosing money in the debts over revenue generation.
They have increased threats from different countries as they prosper with other conjoining friends.

And now most important, the food chain is going down. They gotta see it through.
1086  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 05, 2023, 07:24:22 PM
It would be helpful if it were possible to check on personal stats tab how much satoshis have been wagered on the account so far.
If you've never claimed a bonus before you can see how much you have wagered on the site by going to the multiply tab. ~~
You won't be able to check your total wager by using this method if you are using Freebitco.in for more than 6 years. Because, the multiply BTC bonus system wasn't available there before 2017. This method is only effective to calculate the total wager if your Freebitco account has been created within last five years.

But that method still lack the perfect calculation as it shows up all the money in one place that is wager plus bonus and added winnings. Plus if we are discussing it anyway, then freebitcoin should add a filter on our profiles which will help segregate the values or basically anything we do there. Like a field where I just select show me my winnings until now or from this date to that date etc, thus I will be able to see exact accounting for that. It would be similar to seeing your bank statement really and nothing big in adding such stuff. Since freebitcoin has big user base, and the revenue is always nice, they can have this coded in single day for us if they meant to do it.

I mean one can actually plot good strategies on how they are doing on the freebitcoin. Filter could also include premium winnings, WOF, RP's, LT, GT and what not. Right now everything is distributed across various tabs. Could solve various problems at one place. Just a thought though.  Cheesy
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Burning feature is not utility on: February 05, 2023, 06:49:11 PM
It won’t make difference if token emission is unlimited, for example in case of stable coin when emission is almost unlimited you cant expect anything from the coin burn because that amount is anyways going to replace over the time. However in case of coins with limited supplies one can expect real effect. This can be seen with the time and with multiple burns as the project proceeds months after months or years. This is in relation with the projects coin and it’s demand-supply. The lower it gets and the higher the popularity of project it sure makes lot of difference when they burn it.  Wink
1088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: an Electronic Cash System on: February 05, 2023, 05:37:47 PM
Every time it opens up new meaning when we read about bitcoin and Satoshi angles.  They are different for different mind sets and nothing wrong in that. At the end of day, it’s smooth adoption and use case matters a lot. Many of them would say it is self sustaining, it is made to work like that, it is fail Safe. However, it won’t work if no one is using it.

So whether e-commerce injects bitcoin with their transacting power or not, an individual system must be under process all the time. For example, peer to peer transacting shall be focused but in decentralised way. There should be little to no reliance on third party involvement for completion of transactions. I think that way bitcoin and what was thought about it by Satoshi would accomplish in the long future to come.
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bithumb CEO arrested on: February 05, 2023, 06:51:50 AM
He was embellishing the money in centralised environment where he is doing the corporate job? Definitely giving me another reason not trust the corporate world anymore and crypto currency is really really weak space and it can get hampered with such news quickly. And yes if he is holding that much shares in the company then he should be thrown out of the company after proper investigation. It is entirely fine if people start withdrawing money from Bithumb because it’s there choice and they are not going just give away money just like that.
1090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Act local and think global on: February 04, 2023, 04:48:49 PM
Definitely that is true and global adoption is not something which will happen overnight anyways. It has so many huddles on the way. The infrastructure, bigger mining facilities, issues associated with scaling, network speed and congestion overcoming. When we speak about the global adoption we only think about or imagine a world where every single person is holding portion of bitcoin and transacting with it. However, thats not adoption. We need above mentioned fact checks to fulfil the need of every peer to go on those heights.
Every country needs to seed it from their own homes, they need to build or inspire to build infra's related to bitcoin. Whether it is mining facility or OTC for bitcoin transaction or educational hub. We need that much power to go beyond our visions. Smiley
1091  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 04, 2023, 03:55:57 PM
They say time flies by but I never have paid any attention to such phrase but to think that October draw is already 4 months behind is something that has passed really quick and only near 69 days to the next Lambo draw makes me rethink about trying to gamble a bit more because so far I only have 10-11 GT as I have not wagered that much and also have not been lucky to win more than 2 GT from WoF during these 4 months. Not that I think anything will change from my gambling but because it just makes me feel better when I accumulate a bit more of those GT-s as you never know, each GT has an equal chance to win the draw  Shocked.
I think now is the right time if you intend to play to reach a 0,005 wagers and get a Golden ticket because you will also get around 4K Reward Points because the RP Promotion is currently ongoing. I only have 2 at the moment 1 from WoF from 1 from the bet but that's the accumulation of multiple activities.

Compete the #1 not the ground line. You will have to put lot of efforts to win. The odds are really low but someone is always winning the race and getting their lambo for every contest. Just to motivate you, you will not just be wagering the money but you will be earning lot of free stuff along the way. Peeps go far beyond and have GT's in the multiples of hundreds and more. So the competition is really thick. The person who one last time already played is best hand after the winnings were credited and I believe they can share the experiences with us since they are one of the fellow members here. Don't put too much emotions though. Just keep in mind, you have to play for fun and not to chase the prize. It can make huge difference when you are wagering your money. Good luck to all.
1092  Economy / Economics / Re: Monthly or weekly pay? Fixed or percentage earning? what is your prefrence. on: February 04, 2023, 02:53:08 PM
Ok this one is really good question and it may seem simple one but it's not when you work on it practically.

So the other time I was working for a firm on weekly payroll. It was remote job and the company was based out of Australia. They used to pay me on weekly basis. The payout used to come on fixed day of the week. The issue was, the money used to get spent immediately for the week chores and it was difficult to maintain the accounting that way.

I never understood where the money went in the process. Definitely not good idea to receive on weekly basis. You can try monthly because you get the amount at once and its easier to segregate bills / EMI's etc. as you can see whole picture in front of you.
1093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cashless Policy & Redesigned of Banknotes Make Citizens to Use BTC in Nigeria on: February 04, 2023, 12:54:40 PM
Yeah, seen even bigger que in India when demonetization was done. Moreover, considering the population in India this was 100 fold drama here and sometimes there were riots for getting the cash because ATM's were not able to fulfil the daily requirements. Whether it is private sector bank or government, everything was raided with negative impact.

So I can feel the same in Nigeria. However, back then Bitcoin was not much popular in India, but in Nigeria the timings are perfect and we can easily see the adoption on its peak. It is now bitcoins grand entry in Nigeria and we can already see many nigerian based posts around the forum which is telling the story.
1094  Economy / Economics / Re: Berkshire Hathaway's Charlie Munger Calls for Crypto Ban in the US on: February 03, 2023, 08:52:26 PM
When you know you are out of race and it’s too late to do anything about it: the wealthy: YES.

Any social freak would understand what that Yes means above. I’m not sure what’s happening in the economy class right now but the real world is giving really shit ideas to the young peeps and to those who are learning from the oldest.

If things kept like this, the news Corner might need to be suppressed from the world to move the economics to right direction.

Initially it was threat from the local authorities, then it started from different summits, governments etc and now here we are someone from another country is trying to tell another country to ban crypto by referring the another countries failure. That’s broken world.
1095  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: February 03, 2023, 08:35:06 PM
I think in my portfolio I have saved the same amount that used to do last year and repeated the same every year for the last five. However, I did crash a lot during the pandemic because had to cash out multiple times to provide the emergency care when we had nothing in our hands in the form of salaries. That one was little set Back for me and my family. However, it made me realised that savings play a huge role in our lives and that’s why we should increase the share of savings a lot as compared to what we throw in expenses. Similar to other fellow members here I wouldn’t measure my success in terms of five years, but what I have today and how I have managed my money over the time.
1096  Economy / Economics / Re: Oil giant Shell posts highest-ever annual profit of $40 billion on: February 03, 2023, 07:27:53 PM
What the hell, and I was thinking how are they managing such huge infrastructure, logistics, storage, safety lines throughout the world! It’s god damn money man, they raked 40 billions from us in the name of oil shortages and hiked prices. This is definitely game of whales, they control crazy element which can alter the course of development for us.

The dividend which they talking about is nothing. It’s just what we paid extra when it was not really necessary to pay that way?

Can you guess how much margin they have? They are able to catch this much profits even after world stopped using oil straight for the 2 years roughly during pandemic.

Now that is some business there.
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs and Domains on: February 03, 2023, 05:13:49 PM
That’s a bitter choice for me. Neither NFT nor the second one. I am aware that flipping has got some profits on the way but dude NFT is scrambled like egg now. It has no shape and no future either it will drift along the way as it is doing right now or it will go off the market all of sudden. Even these days the NFT are not that popular or in talks which makes us think whether it is short term market or long term market really ??
Anyways, those who are relying on single asset acquisitions such as NFT should always diversify the portfolio, just in case if future comes up with another trend!!
1098  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: February 02, 2023, 07:52:29 PM

I also saw a tweet made by the official Twitter of Roobet. and I think there will likely be a Valentine's Day event that will be held by Roobet this month.
and more likely, Roobet is holding an event in this forum again as it was held some time ago when there was a special day. Roobet always holds events in this forum.
I am proud to see Roobet giving interesting events to the forum community and strengthening the relationship between the forum community and the Roobet.com platform
The team is quite active in organising these events and if you see the art contest from Roobet has been running quite successfully from long time and they have distributed so many rewards to creative artist through it and it's way of encouraging all sort of people to attach with casino with monetary rewards as well.

yes, at this point roobet probably ran more than 10 art contests and it doesn't seem like they're stopping any time soon
I should keep an eye on the other tabs and check it more often
it's been a while I don't join an art contest

checked the services tab and didn't find any contest running, is there any open at this moment?

There is none actually.

Most of the users above are hoping that Roobet will come back with another competition. Since they are popular to host artwork based on unique theme and is based on seasons Special, everyone believe that it could be either valentines or if not valentine then it is surely going to be summer or something.

I think they will also upgrade our signatures real soon as soon as the season is altered.

For now let’s just hope they will give us another artwork party soon. ;-)
1099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to Deal with Volatility? on: February 02, 2023, 07:10:53 PM
Haha, no bro you don’t do anything about the volatility.  The volatility of this market plays with you!! All you can do is keep your money as it is in the form of let’s say bitcoins and only take them out from the cold storage when you think you have made enough progress with the profits. Otherwise volatility is always going to play with us and with our profits.

There is saying, you do not make any loss unless and until you don’t sell your assets for X value. So if the X value is lesser than your initial investment then it’s loss obviously. It’s always better to be in freezing position all the time unless you wanna cash out for emergencies.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins or tokens related to the AI or ML on: February 02, 2023, 06:57:10 PM
There are plenty of them but its too early to invest into them. Considering AI is getting far better and deep rooted everywhere now worlds talking about AI all the time. I am pretty sure this is why you are asking about the projects which are AI based and thus think that it could be best opportunity to invest into it and gain unlimited profits out of it. However, one should be optimistic with their investments and projects they choose. The older one still shining and plenty of profits can be made from them. I’m not saying stay away from the AI related project, but what I’m suggesting is, you should invest in later phase when it becomes evident that they are making good profits.
