1101  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I decided to buy some fractions of BTC after discussion with members here on: February 02, 2023, 06:23:52 PM
Agreed that most of them are from Nigeria and those 5-6 figures means a lot to them. This could be start of something big for them since bitcoins volatility and up rising has surprised the world many times. These fellas should keep working on their balances and keep adding such value over the time to their wallets. I am wondering if they work on paid to Click sites or Satoshi based faucets then they could end up having millions of Naira, is it or is not? Since the conversion is lot more higher for them against the dollar it could be something big for them. Practice those methods as well. Good luck dude.
1102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So far so good with Bitcoin adoption on my side but I have question on: February 01, 2023, 06:28:45 PM
I think you should start giving them demo with their own money. Like show them the whole process of buying and selling bitcoin. Just do it in between your and their wallets. Let them see how it works on peer to peer network and how cheap it is. Make them realise how it did not even ask for bit of information from you to process the transaction thus proving them the anonymous nature of bitcoin.

In the today’s world it works better by practical approach rather than long lectures and theoretical approaches. I think crypto space can be understood in better way by using it. So make them try it and see how they react. If they are fine then they will go with it and if not then you tried your best.
1103  Economy / Economics / Throwback - Tesla lost $204 million in Bitcoin, but learn the lesson from this! on: February 01, 2023, 06:11:37 PM
Quote
Tesla recorded a $204 million impairment loss in 2022, according to the United States Security and Exchange Commission. Despite the loss, the electric vehicle manufacturer made a profit of $64 million from converting its bitcoin holdings to fiat currencies last year, Techcrunch reported citing the USSE commission. Overall, the automaker lost $40 million from crypto trading activities.
In the first quarter of 2021, the company had invested $1.5 billion in bitcoin and stated that it believed in the longevity of the cyptocurrency. The company said bitcoin was a great place to store cash and still access it immediately, providing a better return on investment than more traditional central banks. In fact, after its initial purchase, Tesla promptly trimmed its position by 10 per cent, making the automaker a quick $101 million, Techcrunch report said.

Elon Musk in March 202 said that Tesla would start accepting bitcoin as payments for Tesla vehicles, causing the price of the crypto to boom. A few weeks later, Musk and Tesla backpedalled on that decision, expressing concern about the amount of energy needed to mine bitcoin. The price of bitcoin then subsequently sank, the media outlet said.

In 2022 when the value of bitcoin became better, Tesla sold 75 per cent of its bitcoin holdings and used it to buy traditional currency. As of today, the company has $184 million worth of bitcoin.

Tesla, an automobile company was holding more than 1.5 billions in 2021 but lost it in the year 2022 when we had the bloodbath. Since Tesla had its image connected with bitcoin as well as reputed automobile industry it was definitely forceful decision to sell it all in the long run.

But, they did it playfully and saved as much as 64 million dollars in profit when bitcoin shown its volatility waves. Tesla also trimmed almost 10 percent of profit from the company itself to balance out it.

The important lesson: No matter if you are individual OR big company you have to have perfect timing for buying and selling. Moreover, you need to know proper strategy to play (no matter how many fouls it would do) but you have to save up your investments and make profits.
1104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Greedy Machine NFT on: January 28, 2023, 07:36:37 PM
Give it time, we are entering into AI era now and all the fun and investment of NFT would be vanished already. Now they might start with AI based projects which will be more innovative and peeps will start thinking that if they invest from the beginning then they might be able to gain good returns in the future.

All the attention will divert towards such things.

Now I am not adding this comment regarding AI out of nowhere but it is from the fact that it’s the most searched stuff right now and NFT is already going out of trend soon.
1105  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: January 28, 2023, 07:15:27 PM
Kangaroos are famous for boxing Cheesy Is Roobet a sponsor of any boxing promotions or boxers? Never heard of that. Would be cool of we see Roobets mascot in boxing gloves on boxing banners during pre-post fight conferences or weigh-ins.

Boxing is where money are. I am sure that it will cost millions to become a sponsor or place a banner on the ring. But, we see that Roobet has top athletes among their ambassadors, so I think it is possible to see one day Roobet during major boxing fights.
So far I know that Roobet has been a sponsor of several UFC/MMA athletes and indeed it can be said that Roobet is quite active about it, it's just that Roobet hasn't become a sponsor in a UFC/MMA event so the name Roobet isn't in every event unlike one of the big casinos which is indeed a sponsor so that their name or logos appears in the octagon
Maybe for now Roobet can only sponsor UFC / MMA athletes, but in the future Roobet will definitely be able to sponsor big events in several sports matches not only at UFC / MMA.
Because doing a sponsorship is not easy and requires a large enough budget to spend.
By doing a sponsorship, it indirectly includes the name Roobet on the sponsor board so that it can also be an effective way of promotion.
So this is definitely being planned or thought about by the team from Roobet.

Wow, they are killing it right now. I am proud that I am being one of the promoter for Roobet in this timeline because they are seriously breathtaking and going in the perfect direction right now. We should be really proud about it because seriously it is not easy task to sponsor such high valued event. They will definitely go to the next level because with every sponsorship they are already getting crazy popularity which is turning their revenue model into continuous flow of money. Well we all know that having loads of money means they can do anything they want.

That is ultimately good for us! Good luck for many sponsorships to come around Roobet.. Smiley
1106  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 28, 2023, 07:02:02 PM
~snip~
Freebitco has turned a lot of faucet users into gambler by displaying the "Multiply your bitcoins" pop-up message after each faucet roll. There were a lot of popular Bitcoin faucets in the past which was running the site by displaying Ads. Freebitco was doing the same thing, but they had discontinued the Ads by improving the betting section on the site. Freebitco was very much popular for faucet in the past, now it is more popular as a gambling site than faucet site.

That change was really important. With the time they have taken best course of action and it is evident from their success really. If they would have been faucet only, then their revenue would have collapsed a lot and then it could have stopped working by this time. I think adding more features to the site, slowly and steadily made it more visible. They adjusted their environment perfectly with the users need and that is why they are success today.

In fact we should be excited about any new releases that they might have and support the entire freebitco ecosystem. Just love they way they are working and upgrading.
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Approximately 384 Days until the next Bitcoin halving on: January 27, 2023, 07:44:54 PM
This is more or less reminder to the amazing minds that worked behind the strategy of mining algorithm. Just wow to them how they planned it long ago with limited resources and only power of their minds nothing more nothing less. Just look at the figures and how they are creating lower supply each 4 years thus increasing the demand for it. The thought about their strategies behind amazes us. Happy upcoming halving. This year is gonna be interesting one.
1108  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your successes over the past 5 years on: January 27, 2023, 06:18:20 PM
I have done many things. I have switched two R&D's by this time. I learned more things about bitcoin, bitcoin mining, various stuff on this forum and learned how I can make more money with freelance work and with that I kick started pencil artwork services. I earned more than enough money with the time and also adopted more skills in the long run. This gave me greater opportunities to earn and also increased my artwork stakes in various fields.

These years also included the covid phases so during that period I gained more exposure on crypto, increased my alt mining and few other types of crypto investments which later turned into scams. Got into signature campaigns and earning decent money with it, really thanks to this forum.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 26, 2023, 06:57:09 PM
It is game of house edge. Some of then provide more some of them provide less and win accordingly. Moreover, they are never in loss due to the odds they are getting from various games site wide. No one would know the secretes inside but in the casino games like roulette, mystery boxes, crap dice, lightening dice, and crash games; things could go north to south any movement! Making more than enough money to the casino and survive the whole thing. It’s business, it’s well planned and regulated.
1110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin limitation (self challenge) on: January 26, 2023, 06:29:28 PM
That is very confined condition but I believe what the other guys said about your availability over internet seems bit odd. I do not want to overthink your situation but there are definitely ways out for the same. If electricity grid has reached your area then it is well developed location. If it is really concerning then you can just move to the next location where electricity is far more consistent. For example, area with industrial zone where most probably electricity should be up and running all the time.

If you can access internet, then you are not limited to use bitcoin at all!!
1111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anybody else confused by the dead-coins pump ? on: January 26, 2023, 05:52:41 PM
Might be gesture from pump and dump groups. They will always use such coins which are available on the exchanger and are almost dead. This makes them easier to pump and dump because they can attract low value coin seekers attention and make them invest into it. Rest they will dump when it’s high enough and go for the next coin. Pretty sure there is no developments and no owners outlook in that. About the second part where coins with utility, well it’s nothing like they do no get attention. It’s all about their actual utility, peeps interest in it, and projects direction.  They have to be moving in good direction to make investors invest in them.
1112  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 25, 2023, 06:42:27 PM
I think its like saying saving gold, saving silver, saving money and bitcoin and bonds etc. Just saving and nothing else really. What you are suggesting here is idea to save but in different formats of "money" or "asset" which carries a proper value to exchange with something equal in value. I don't think we should be confusing this with the bitcoin and fiat. They are both different in terms of utility, values, and may be supply too! Saving in bitcoin can be far more beneficial than money because of obvious reasons. Despite of that the points, its savings, it could be in any form of valuable asset.
1113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: shiba inu coin, now ranked 13th in cmc on: January 25, 2023, 06:32:50 PM
That's just dragging train with no proper railroad ahead. It is gonna be another tragic story in the future so better be quick to invest in this coin and make your share of profit. Do not go along with it with the dreams of making millions of dollars in one go. If anyone wants to make money out of coin like shiba then it has to be quick. I mean so quick that we should not wait for the coin to jump below 20% considering it's crazy volatility. With the time this has to be profitable and not the investment which we experienced with another meme coin that is doge. Because these shit coin once locked with down pattern then they are locked there forever.
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you into crypto at the moment? on: January 25, 2023, 06:14:49 PM
I have seen a lot of people around me joining due to lack of jobs during the epidemic season, some because the price of btc is very good so they want buy altcoin, a few others came from IEO, etc
And you?
IEO - Staking - DeFi Smiley
Thousands of people come to crypto in 2020 because they want to make a profit with DeFi & the staking form of many tokens like ETH & ADA, especially IEOs on Binance with 50% -100% profit has made the whole market warm back after long winter from 2018.

It was not epidemic, it was Pandemic!
Quote
AN EPIDEMIC is a disease that affects a large number of people within a community, population, or region. A PANDEMIC is an epidemic that's spread over multiple countries or continents.

Coming to the peeps joining crypto, I don't think they came in because of the pandemic. The surge was very normal during the covid days and nothing really moved, not even the global supply chain. All we saw was movement of few companies buying the crypto assets in bulk because it was completely discounted days and there was high chance we would miss the train. However situation was different for the middle man, they were afraid and losing hopes to live a good life when we were fighting the pandemic.

I barely doubt, that many of them were engaged into crypto to make money. We were fighting! We were scared.

1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I started instilling a bitcoin saving system on: January 25, 2023, 05:49:08 PM
Whenever you are in confusion in regards with the investments then you should be using the 70:30 formula to divide your salary/income or whatever it is that you are earning. In this one 70 should be your investments and 30 should be your savings. These would be the savings which will help you survive in the world, it will take care of your daily needs, commute, bills etc. While the major portion should always go into the investments. This will ensure that you are having pretty good amount in the market which may give you good returns in the long terms. However, if there arises any situation where your investments are going down or you are having loses in the market then you won't be much worried about it since you are already ok with those 30 portions and living good life. On the other hand if those 70 goes up highly then it's your lucky day. Choose right path and plan everything prior to going there.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin threatened by digital dollars? on: January 24, 2023, 03:29:19 PM
It will do this, it will do that and it will be more than that. Oh come on, do we really believe this thing and any planning behind it? I’m sure that this is just another hoax from Government which will take lot of time to implement. Or it may not get implemented at all. These kinda projects being discussed many times now but they never come to existence since government also fear that whether it will work or not ? Whether it is worth investing in its infra and future plans. There are so many questions in this one so definitely it’s not bitcoin that is threaten but it is digits dollar itself. Lolz.
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we end the *VOLATILITY OF BITCOIN* on: January 24, 2023, 03:00:53 PM
Last time crypto community was happy about the volatility of bitcoin because it gives amazing experience in terms of trading on short cycles or day trade. May be if we lose the bitcoin's volatility then we might just lose various characteristics and user experience along with it. The industry that we grew over the time is revolving at the center point of bitcoin, it's nature and volatility obviously.

That is how everyone knows it and adopting it. The fear of bear and fun of bull, that's what making it more interesting and thrilling over the time. So I would care less about it.

Is it just me or these topics OP creates in quick succession look suspicious as if they were something that an AI would create...
The posts are low quality and I’m sure OP knows he can’t merit for them. So what’s the play here? Building activity maybe?? The use of ChatGPT and other AI to make posts is a problem we are going to have to deal with. Unfortunately there is no rule to fight it yet.

Meanwhile in parallel universe, yeah we are gonna face artificial challenges real soon.

This thing is spreading like virus everywhere. First it was biological pandemic, next is what? AI based pandemic screwing whole digital ecosystem. Funny.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: Power outages causes huge economic loss in south Africa. on: January 24, 2023, 12:30:19 PM
should have bought a generator.

if a hospital cant sue an electric company.. a hospital instead realises lives are at risk and invests in a generator back up

also poultry farmer should think about he area he set up his farm and its reliance on resources of that area
a farmer of wheat wouldnt set up in the desert after all, where water is not reliable

unless the power company COULD produce electric. but simply decided "nah not today, lets go on vacation instead" then they are liable. especially if a farmer pre-paid their bill to get power for the month, but didnt receive it. as thats a breach of service agreement

That's wrong.

If the farmer is getting electricity from a company then he is paying for the electricity. The same payment goes into the maintenance, salaries and services of the company.

If they are producing electricity and distributing it in the area then they are doing it for a business and not out of charity (!)

They can not just shut down the plant and stop providing electricity. He has all the rights to sue the company for what they did. There is no such thing that you need to have back ups in farming and shit.

If company is having any maintenance issues, some failures then that should be broadcasted to the consumers via proper channel so that it can give the required time for consumer to get settle with back ups.
1119  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 22, 2023, 04:58:35 PM
That gives me purpose to see more and live more in this life. I cant believe it how crazy stories I keep reading on the bitcointalk. Is this really real man? How can one go and decide such high amount on a bet in single roll? Wow, I think this is what they call, loosing your mind over greediness. That's craziest one and it's big lesson for every gambler out there. I think I am done watching the worst bet made in the history of gambling. Also if he has that much to dare, then he must far more richer than that and not to care about his losses whatsoever.
1120  Economy / Economics / Re: Comparing U.S. Federal Spending with Revenue - This is why fiat will fall on: January 22, 2023, 10:12:13 AM
You mean, US is in 2000B above it's expenses? How does this calculation is done. Simply put they had more than 4000B income from taxes and deficits, while expenditure was around 6000B right? Those are crazy values for the least populated nation like america. I am not sure where most of the money flows here, but isnt that is too much money to live? lol

It is not an accident that Bitcoin was created after the 2008 crash, someone saw the flaw in having an unlimited/uncapped currency and tried to create a new currency that could also become money some day by having a supply cap.

It is not just US either even though US exports its inflation abroad. It is every country out there that is printing money to cover their deficits and cause inflation over time. Check out the following website to see the horrible state global economy is at: https://www.usdebtclock.org/world-debt-clock.html

Kinda started to believe that it was sweet coincidence. I mean wow, with the time peeps gonna notice this and recollect from the history that they need to change the currency.  Grin

I don't know how relevant this is, but with the time we are going more and more digital so it may happen that physical currency would be worthless. With only gestures and handshakes we will start sending and receiving money. Guess who is the eligible candidate for this one? Well well, BTC it is.
