1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My experience is gambling on: September 11, 2020, 05:50:15 PM
Yeah there are more worse experience than your experiencing that they lose all their belongings due to gambling.
Well if someone lost their properties with gambling that falls into addiction, you don't risk that much coz you are chasing a huge money pot or making a break even with what you have lost earlier, it is sad knowing and seeing people ready to lose their life savings through gambling.

Some says treat gambling as an entertainment but honestly based on my experience it's only entertaining as long as you win from it, but when you lose you keep chasing the money that you loss, and you're right even if you have strategy it's still not enough to win sometimes you need more luck rather than good strategy.
Well for me, gambling is really an entertainment whether you lose or you win, but who wants to lose anyway? at the end of the day there is some part of us that will be relaxed after we gambling for fun and not for the money.
1382  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold Price Prediction & its impact on cryptocurrencies on: September 10, 2020, 06:32:34 PM
I still think that classic investors will not touch cryptocurrencies if they choose between them and gold simply because gold is valuable in itself, while the price of btc depends only on the demand for it and its popularity (and speculation).

That's where most of gold's value is derived from too. Only a very small part of gold's market (~10%) can be attributed to actual industrial or medical uses, what you might consider inelastic demand. It's mostly used for value storage, jewelry (which largely falls under value storage), and speculation.
Every thing is valued based on demand and supply, silver could have been more valuable than gold if most of people demands a lot of silver than gold, but the only thing is gold is more rare than silver. It is same with bitcoin, the difference is that its core pricing is speculation. If bitcoin would be adopted in the future, the price of it will skyrocket as people will choose to have it for convenient in  paying online.

Even if you imagine an apocalyptic version of the development of history, you will be able to pay with gold at least somehow but not with btc (unfortunately)

Maybe right now, but 2-3 decades from now? I'm not sure. Before long, apocalyptic versions of history will include peer-to-peer mesh networks and other technologies that will sustain Bitcoin.
The time is running, world is progressing, and you can't predict the future. All that happens now will just be a history.
1383  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: primedice scam 2020 on: September 10, 2020, 05:59:01 PM
So how is this is a scam when it's you at fault? lol

I really doubt that your account has a remaining balance, coz if you do most probably you won't forget the password of your account. I thought it was accusation to primedice, turns out that you are just an idiot. Sorry for the harsh word, I can't think of any that can describe you.

if I were you resolve first your email issue before getting in touch with primedice, ofc they won't give the username until you are verified.
1384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New to bitcoin? Read this! on: September 10, 2020, 03:01:15 PM
Its funny to read my old post from 2017! For what it takes... I still stand for all the 6 points and some have already been proven by now!
Getting back to check it over a couple of years again Grin

I don't necessarily agree with everything you said, or at least not in the way you said it, but I can definitely agree on the "you and me" sentiment and "no right no wrong time" sentiment. As much as I'm wholeheartedly for Bitcoin, I'm not "all-in" simply because I'm not a lonely rock on this planet and must still live and eat with dollars etc, but yes, I can't see a day I'm alive where I'll give up on this ideal, and I'm happy to see others on that same page (even if it's a huge page with many points of differing ideas). Worth 1 merit to see you come back and see an old post from 2 years ago!
I don't know how and when but you are on my ignore list @buwaytress, I don't remember ignoring someone here except spy100.

Anyways, I want to point out the legality and political interest of countries to bitcoin, the fact that every country has a unique government type shows how bitcoin is potentially adoptable. For some country like India or NK where crypto is highly doubted due to some possible 'threats' being seen the rest of the world is taking just fine with bitcoin which is good enough to be recognized.
1385  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyone else having trouble earning Merit? on: September 09, 2020, 09:22:42 PM
I've been a member since 2017 but somehow have not been able to earn a single merit. lol. Does anyone else also have trouble and what can be done to increase ones chances of getting some?

It's unfortunate that it took you two years before you earned your merits while others only took months before they earned theirs and rank up, yours is not an isolated case many newbies experienced that, some of the reasons are not reading the forum rules and not contributing enough to the discussions if you think that you are following rules and contributing but you are not still getting merits then find some members who are generous and had a thread for newbies and low rank to qualify their posts for merits.
He's been part of the forum dated in 2017, probably 3 or 4 years up to now and he got 300+ activity only. Quality over quantity, but I think few of your post that you think is giving contribute to the forum is less appreciated or none helping at all so you have a hard time earning merits. Besides it is not easy for a newbie to earn mass merit unless you break something in the dark that none of us was expecting. That could boost you up to member or even full member.

I once had a thread about giving threads for newbies, I think I helped about 10 newbie accounts or more to rank up hopefully I can create another one soon.
hmm I didn't see that thread of yours, but I hope it was done in a good and quality way. We know how most of the newbies these days, they are just shilling something or complaining and not contributing at all. Best luck.
1386  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PLEASE HELP ME on: September 09, 2020, 08:34:41 PM
I had some problem like this on the imtoken before, when I was bounty hunting I just have 1 erc-20 wallet address and I connected it on imtoken then after a week or two, there are some missing coins in my wallet some has a value and some are not, I didn't know that the notification of my app was not on and so I knew if late, and was not able to get those back.

MEW has new app version which you can download through google playstore. I believe you will need to pay some EOS when creating IMtoken wallet but MEW is free.
Also just don't share any data regarding your wallet not even your address if possible.
Now my full trust with wallet is on MEW, I have not encounter any problem with it yet.

OP's problem probably cause is that he stored his private key in place where it is easy to compromised like Cloud storages, or something that is connected to the internet. Be careful next time.
1387  Economy / Economics / Re: 2020 Money is king Again Good news on: September 09, 2020, 07:41:33 PM
School education is pointless because you think money is the king of everything? Lol, not really.
To another perspective, money can give you the best quality education that you want, you can hire the best of the best professors when you can afford their price. Maybe this is why some people hails the money more than anything. Well I we can't blame them for their opinion and beliefs.

Only Thing what will matter is Money!!

Not really. You are probably living in a dream/fantasy world.
When you dream so bad about it, it became your very desire to the world and ready to take it in whatever situation. As the elder people say, you'll see the worth of money when you don't have any to buy or you can't spend it. The ultimate goal of having a money is to attain our needs and to experience luxury.
1388  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption because of difficulty faced by mankind on: September 09, 2020, 07:10:54 PM
The adoption of bitcoin is inevitable.
'Inevitable' sounds too confident to me, bitcoin is under pressure in the mainstream, involved in many controversies and widely used in illegal activities online. I'd rather call it great addition to current state of our finance than inevitable, coz logically it is not. Inevitable is something that cannot force to deny, or avoid on which the case with bitcoin it is not. Besides, most of the companies are running after blockchain and not bitcoin itself. Blockchain adoption is realer than what we dream bitcoin adoption. A basic law that will state prohibition of bitcoin can stop one from using it. Not inevitable.
1389  Other / Archival / Re: The Fundamental Flaws Of Provably Fair on: September 09, 2020, 04:47:44 PM
For a novice in gambling that just wants to play and entertain themselves might find this confusing at all because of the technical terms that is used. That's why the very suggestion of me in involving with gambling platforms is that make sure they are already in the mainstream of the casinos, reputable and already has its foundation beneath the ground. The logic is simple, if just one individual finds out that the casino isn't provably fair, it will explode like a TNT.

1391  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption because of difficulty faced by mankind on: September 08, 2020, 09:30:56 PM
Supply limit and Cap is not an issue when it comes to adoption after all they can be sent in in mbtc. Its going to be a burden however it comes to tx fees. If remittances accepts stablecoins, it could be the preferred cryptocurrency to avoid loss cause by inflation.
Bitcoin was designed with a supply limit for inflation, and also has low denomination. But I think mass adoption would be much more applicable for better coins like ethereum, though the ethereum is not ideal when there are plenty of coins running under its network still it is better than bitcoin that can only handle 7 transaction per second. If bitcoin is accepted globally, imagine paying bitcoin and wait for 15mins to arrive before you can leave the store.

But why not just create a digital currency just like China's digital yuan. The government still have the control and coins can be traced, it will solve things such as corruption which is rampant in Latin region.
This is what they are trying to do right now, they are creating their own coins that is heavily regulated and is pegged for 1:1 in all currencies. More like a digital fiat running on blockchain. Blockchain is the real future, bitcoin only stands on it.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Miami Dade to open Casinos and Restaurants for the third time. on: September 08, 2020, 08:55:42 PM
The first two months of the quarantine is probably the hardest because no guidelines and protocols are in place,
why no ? they ready declared quarantine which means they already know the rules to be followed  but indeed it was only hard at first because the virus is still fresh and many people already carried and pass the virus without knowing it .
Guidelines and protocols are in immediate effect when there is a pandemic such a virus, it is 24/7 broadcast in the news like a basic proper hygiene, use of face mask and social distancing. Maybe there was an adjustment made by establishment, but that depends on the owner or staff whether they want their place clean or not. There are even people going outside even their area is under quarantined.

With all this, the question should start why Miami reopening casinos and restaurants. This is probably due to their economic losses that they need to cope up with.
1393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter/Youtube Bitcoin Scams on: September 07, 2020, 07:25:12 PM
There is not much we can do about the many twitter or youtube scams, the best choice is educate ourselves and also educate
other people to get to know the scams. That way you can avoid scammers, even though in practice it is very difficult. Because
greed makes us easily deceived.

We can't fully stop the scam. But we can raise awareness among the people by exposing the scams which will keep them safe from such situations next time. Depending on the market conditions, scammers come up with new scam ideas that newcomers don't easily understand, and that's why they fall prey to those scams.
I've been raising awareness for crypto scams for years now especially to my friends online, but I keep receiving questions like " Yo, wassup is this real company? they are offering passive income using ETH" and I'm like woah wait a minute, passive income with ethereum? stay away from that one. Most these days are about DeFi, I don't wanna say that DeFi is a scam coz there are some working projects right now, but I can conclude that there are already scam projects on their way right now. A hype like this is an open gate for scammers.

If people cannot control their greed then there is no point in raising awareness. Most scams are done using human greed.
Greed is a shovel of their own grave. Once you did not notice a detail of one of your investment, that could turn into a sad memory of yours. Better to know what's in of that project before jumping into, crypto scene is half scam.
1394  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: September 07, 2020, 06:41:00 PM
Motivation, yes  Huh the suicide rate from my country increased from the past months of being in quarantine. I don't know how a suicidal thoughts come, it doesn't pop on my head whenever I have problems, the family is an enough motivation I guess but most of the time suicides happens because of the family. In light of this covid, it is inevitable for people to lose their job and by that reason alone people think that life is worthless already having no money. Businesses should be looking for alternatives now, government should focus on creating vaccs and US should be motivated. Let's help each other.
1395  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in a good shape? on: September 07, 2020, 06:06:23 PM
Guys I haven't been here for a while and I'm wondering if Bitcoin is in a better shape than last time I checked 2 years ago.

Thanks
This year Bitcoin was reached 12k $. Now. Its price 10k $. Bitcoin is volatile. 2 years is so long time in crypto world. Because crypto currency price change everyday.

Bitcoin shape is not determined just by current price, it is the number of people adopting crypto currencies at the moment, increase/decrease of that number throughout years and perspective projects that are here to support faster adoption
yeah, I suppose, bitcoin in overall is in good shape looking to me just take a look at its market dominance it is above half that means bitcoin contributes above half of the crypto market. I guess the OP meant to ask if bitcoin is in good position for an investment since he asked this question while comparing to bitcoin's price 2 years ago. From the recent fall of the price of bitcoin, I must say that this is a good opportunity for an investment and long term holding.

price is volatile, but that is kind a normal to young industries, although BTC is not that young anymore
Take note of this first, asking here in forum about the price, when to enter, when to exit is very uncertain though people here like me is kinda old to this scene we are still not sure of where the price is heading next.
1396  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto gambling sites should be careful of bringing eSports in on: September 07, 2020, 03:31:18 PM
to be honest there are no stopping kids from going online and gambling unless the parents either ask their internet provider to block any adult website, gambling sites etc
As far as I know the ISP cannot just block a website just because the client say so, if that's the case then public wifis could have banned 18+ websites or any gambling platform. There are already restrictions given by the rules of the platform, I think that's enough for now. Parents should be accountable on their minors, parent's supervision is required until 18 years old isn't it?

.. or the gambling site requires KYC upon registering from their website. but speaking from experience as a person who exposed to gambling at a very early age it never occurred to me to gamble money because of the game I play.
As for crypto casino putting KYC procedure would just ruin the very essence of integrating the cryptocurrency as it offers pseudonymity.
1397  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: St. Petersburg police closed scam cryptocurrency exchanger on: September 05, 2020, 10:57:26 PM
We are definitely getting closer to regulation; that's my take away on the whole issue. For the state to get interested in fraud arising from crypto deceit shows a level of interest on sanitizing that industry.
I think so, as there will be incident to happen government will be more have eyes on the industry which they should have done a few years back but now they are handling it with regulation. And as there will be gullible people, fraud and scams will not be over and image of the cryptocurrency will be slowly in mud full of dirt. Believe it or not, even if there is a regulation scammers will easily cope those fences that they fronted.

Before now, it used to be government placing an outright ban on all crypto activities. We are getting there gradually. Frankly, I hope the identified scammers all get to face the wrath of the law and face punishment for it.
That has a low chance to happen, the identities of these scammers are alphanumberic addresses, it is hard to track these people with a single clue and obviously scammers know how to get away with it. Scams are all planned.
1398  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: September 05, 2020, 09:58:04 PM
Both of them have many advantages that can be utilized by many people, so that something that has enthusiasts in society will not be replaced and they will forever go together and of course will continue to grow because that is what will happen as a store of value.
The freedom of movement with bitcoin is the biggest advantage if you compare gold and bitcoin as a store of value. Gold is a dominant store of value for centuries and you can really trust them and that cannot be said about digitally created store of value in the eyes of many and that is hard to change,
I don't think of this much, about the replacement and all that stuff, what do you think of bitcoin? A messiah? that will just make gold and fiat disappear lol we still talking about the supposed to be replacement of stuff in here, what's worst is that you giving a full blind trust with bitcoin that is decentralized, uncertain and volatile. Is this what an asset should be? a 100 today then 0 tomorrow? I don't think so.

may be the next generation will consider differently.
Bitcoin was an addition, it may grew differently as what its name says 'currency' but it is what it is, an investment just like gold, a thing for storing of value. I agree, the next generation of people will consider these things differently, and I think they will just go with what's on them now.
1399  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid 19 shows how weak People are in the it mind on: September 04, 2020, 09:25:10 PM
What country are you in now for you to talk like that so many people here in our country are losing their job and their business and there's no bank here that will give us loans,, it's actually the opposite on what's happening in many countries.

You must be dreaming no banks will give you a loan and forget it, that bank is not existing, banks are profit driven company the moment they gave you a loan the interest will start to generate you can never default a loan on a bank.

If you have a decent enough collateral, then the banks will give you a loan. The interest rates may be high (and may go up even higher as inflation is expected to rise in the coming years).
Collateral seems to be more the back up of the banks of their client. And trust me they are monitoring us each by each, they scroll to our life feeds. Banks will care about our background than what we wear when we go to banks, they will smile at you when they see you got a mansion that costs $1 million even if you look like a bum with teared shirt. Loan at your own risk, or don't loan at all.

On the other hand, if you don't have a good collateral, and in case you are unemployed currently, then there is hardly any chance of getting a loan sanctioned by the bank officials.
Loan is granted when the banks sees a potential that you can pay them and it will be defined by your statements, as we all say the collateral. Personally I don't want to get a loan with collateral, like a property, or a car, coz obviously you can't take the half of the car just to pay them, so they will just get it to you as a payment, in short it will be over paid. Don't do collateral!
1400  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: September 04, 2020, 08:41:53 PM
In my opinion, if the income from crypto is large enough and stable per month, the government may impose taxes on our crypto income, meaning that the tax is based on fiat currency resulting from the withdrawal of exchangers.

But how will they implement it?

I mean they can't just pinpoint someone using cryptocurrencies.
It will be easier for government to tax crypto when they have the full control over the exchanges. This is what they are going to do when they want to really tax the crypto, they will just hand these exchanges in the neck let it spit who uses their exchanges, track and monitor them then tax the shit out of their profits. Centralized exchanges will be likely to be the one that is going to be a weapon for this, and decentralized exchanges will be out and will be prohibited. crossed-fingers.

Those investors are the only ones that know they have cryptocurrencies, and most of them are really hiding that they are earning a lot of money from it. At the end of it all, it all depends on the person if they will pay for those taxes, I am not saying that all of us are like that, I am saying that there are those kinds of people.
KYC will be implemented every where, any ICOs will implement a KYC policy, any exchange will have KYC policy and any wallets will have KYC policy. I don't really know how will they do this but this is the only way that they can control what's going inside and outside just for getting a tax.
