1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paypal is doing it on: October 21, 2020, 09:45:15 PM
Splendid! This is the greatest news I've heard today. Considering that bitcoin is a competitor to Paypal, I never thought they'll do this. If actually, this happens, it's gonna be massive because according to what I saw online, "In the second quarter of 2020, there were 346 million active PayPal accounts" 346 million? Damn!
You also should consider the fact that it's founder, Elon Musk shows great interest and has publicly mentioned the fact that he is supportive of cryptocurrencies, particularly bitcoin. This will cash in more money to him considering how big t.fees are right now. Or he can do a game-breaking move that would entice all people to buy cryptos on Paypal like lowering the transaction fees at a certain purchase point.
1262  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a high roller? on: October 21, 2020, 09:23:55 PM
Today read about a person winning from chips.gg having a bet value of $400, and a misclick getting him a winning amount of $19800 on Dice. Maybe some day I need to be such a high roller with high percentage of luck.
These kind of sheer luck happened for me in the past, in dice when i was rolling 9900x and when i was about to bust everything i ended up hitting the valuation which i never expected and in jackpot slots when i least expect i end up winning $400 to $700 and it is nothing big but these are lucky rolls which i never expected because i was trying out new games.
It actually happens especially in dice. No one expected that you will win even after you know to yourself that you will lose the game. It also happens to me before, I did not expect to win due to having a lose streak, I end up betting all my remaining funds and did not expect to win all my losses that day.
These stroke of luck doesn't come every day which makes me not a high roller, sort of especially if I'm not accustomed to the mechanics of the game I'm playing. I'm better at putting in small bets then slowly accumulating my earnings in that way. It's a win-win situation if I earn, and I don't suffer that big if I lose. High-rollers are only like that because a. They have a lot of disposable cash, and b. they are really good at the game they are playing.
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware Cryptowallet with Fingerprint Authorization on: October 20, 2020, 11:37:34 PM
I’m not totally bought on the fingerprint reader feature – I’ve got a couple of devices protected with readers of a kind, and every now and then I need to perform a rescan since they stop recognizing my fingerprint flawlessly. Additionally if the device implements passphrases, I wonder if different fingers will give access to different sets of accounts. On top of that, I’m pretty certain it’s easier to retrieve a fingerprint, than a pin code from someone’s memory.

In any case, the device does have the couple of buttons, so perhaps the fingerprint reader is optional in terms of usage, and the buttons will probably provide access to the different passphrase protected sets of accounts.
Precisely. Having a physical safekeeping device for an intangible asset like bitcoin basically defeats its very purpose. I get where the creators of this coin is coming from but you know what else can do this without all of those nerdy things and for a very cheaper price compared to how much this thing probably costs? Your computer hard-drive. Heck, you can even go as far as using your external hard drive or a USB.
1264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legit or not on: October 20, 2020, 11:11:22 PM
Its time to hear if bitcoin is legit or not!!
Someone with good and legit reputation need say here if bitcoin is secure safe and legit!!

We Trust USA dollar because its Federal reserve are legit guys!!

So is bitcoin good or not?

Someone like donald Trump should if its legit
Of course, bitcoin is legit, and if you are talking about security, it's secure till you don't make any mistakes from your side.

USA dollars also are being used by criminals all over the world(where its accessible). No one can stop criminals from using or getting access from anything, but you can control it by proper monitoring and by making strong laws, for that government have their own protection system.

Everything is good till you use it for good purpose, so its depends on you, how do you want to use your USD or bitcoin, for buying drugs or food.
The OP sounds so afraid about bitcoin being a scam when it has been on the internet back when Soulja Boy was still relevant. And no, just because someone uses it for illegal purposes automatically makes it a scam coin. It's legitimate as it gets. You don't need to worry about the coin's legitimacy. That's it.
1265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google news is spreading FUD on: October 20, 2020, 10:33:11 PM
google news ? as in they own the source ? or you mean you just click on the news tab in the google result page .

i havent seen google have thier own news site and most of all they wont release such fud because they are a legit company  . anyone can liquidate thier assets and so what if its an older address , what its difference with a new one . not all old adress have a big btc balance but most new wallets have . no point of being afraid but we need to be brave if we are on this business
Precisely. How many people are aware of Google News in the first place? Let it be, No point in wasting energy with being afraid of FUD. FUD only works when a lot of cryptocurrency hodlers see it. And for a non-famous news source like Google News with barely an amount of viewerbase, we can rest assured that nothing will happen at all. Not that FUD can affect bitcoin at this point anyway.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling sites accepting bets from countries where gambling is illegal. on: October 20, 2020, 10:07:28 PM
it is really important for us as player to read TOS because by reading that we can know what is needed to us to avoid or what is not we cannot to do by using their gambling sites. I hope it will not happen to me what happened to the others but my country I think is not strict in the online gambling unless they implement to ban it for sure I cannot access the gambling website but I think if the system or apps will help to access a gambling sites that blocked from one country.
But who reads them, honestly speaking? A lot of people will shrug these agreements of because they want to jump off into the action immediately. Admittedly, I am one of those people. Nevertheless, if they can make reading it a bit interactive that will pump the percentage of the people who will read it. Perhaps give a bit of an incentive to the player for finishing a part of the TOS. Some kind of that.
1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We don't do it in Bitcoin! on: October 19, 2020, 11:25:52 PM
That's actually one of the best characteristics of Bitcoin that we could also consider as its advantage. We can carry and use it everywhere digitally but what that guy did is really disgusting. He can't escape from taxation through his actions. However, we can't blame him because we don't know the whole story. He should have known how to convert and switch his gold to crypto.
I wouldn't want to stuff my ass with precious gold just to pass customs. This is one of the biggest benefits of Bitcoin I must say. You don't need to worry about leaving your riches elsewhere since you can carry it all around with you long as you have your address. Although it is also a flaw as bitcoin is not intended to be used as a money alternative, at least for this moment.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's IP address found on: October 19, 2020, 10:25:42 PM
Why do some people try to found Satoshi? He wanted to stay anonymous and he deserved it.
That's the world we live in, they will always be at your disadvantage even though you are fighting for their freedom. Many heroes and heroine where killed becasue of their selfless sacrifice to humanity, Satoshi among others wanted the world to be free from her dictators and the people he came for are the same digging the IP's address, then the question is: For what use will Satoshi IP address use for?.
Don't even know what they will accomplish by finding out who the real bitcoin creator is. And even if we really find him, we'll just shrug him off and call him another one of those Satoshi-wannabes since the creator made himself clear that he wouldn't show who he really is. Unless there's a competition where we will win a huge sum of money by finding him, locating Satoshi is just going to be a waste of time, money and effort.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did bitcoin lose its value? on: October 19, 2020, 07:02:18 PM
Last few months there may be bitcoin losing its value but at the moment it's very stable and looking very strong. Bitcoin is about the first and widely most known digital currency in use and this momentum will continue. For long terms Bitcoin is very bullish so BTC can be good investment.
The fact that it's digital is the reason why the coin's very strong right now. The pandemic if anything didn't do anything to bitcoin in particular. The price has been dwindling up and down like that ever since. People just began comparing it to USD for the sake of comparison. but no, Bitcoin's going strong right now and this is regardless of any FIAT currency on the market.
1270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Not User Friendly Yet on: October 18, 2020, 11:06:25 PM
Bitcoin has long been a user friendly as it seems to me. What it looked like in the beginning and what it looks like now, the difference is huge.
You're right mate, basically this wasn't how it was from the beginning, the usage of this technology was more difficult back in the old days compare to now. We all know that Bitcoin just reached 11years old and it user friendly can't be compared to some new technologies, so, IMO, Bitcoin is users friendly. With the new improvement from the developing team Bitcoin will come out refined as one if the best technology in history.
It is user friendly indeed. But not beginner-friendly. A lot of things that involve investing isn't gonna be favorable to people new to the scene. Bitcoin is not an exception. One has to learn a couple pf things first or have a professional alongside with him to ensure that maximum profit is gained. Nonetheless, it goes without saying that investing in bitcoin is a profitable venture in the right circumstances.
1271  Other / Archival / Re: Potential shortage of bitcoins? on: October 18, 2020, 08:55:06 PM

If holders are going to be hodling it for a very long time and some along the way lost it access maybe there will be a shortage. But its a good thing for traders as its price will also be incrementing due to demands. Institutions accumulating BTC is making Bitcoin look good that if it gets out in the media, it can really change the way people look at BTC positively unlike when its just on the news all because of illlegal drugs.
You're kinda right about the part where companies buying bitcoin can produce a positive image for the cryptocurrency industry. However, I don't see bitcoin's shortage coming in anytime soon. First of all, the 21 million total supply wouldn't dry out that easily, I mean, even if everyone buy themselves a bitcoin, there's going to be someone who'll sell the coins for fiat. Another is the fact that the coin is at a really high price right now, buying even a few would cost you a ton. So is shortage gonna come? Yeah eventually, will the institutions cause it? NO.
1272  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic: good for the bitcoin market or bad? on: October 17, 2020, 11:33:49 PM
<snip>so the pandemic is actually good for the Bitcoin market.
In fact, the Covid 19 pandemic oubreak and the Bitcoin's value and market does not correlate.
The pandemic never help nor negatively affect bitcoin, if there was, maybe affected with such low percentage, maybe less than 1%?

As what you just said, it's the stock market that undoubtedly crashed because of this pandemic.
Most of them (if not all) are dependent to the capability of people to buy or request for their products or services.
Covid 19 greatly affect that in a negative way.
Most that we can correlate between the two is the increase on the number of people who look for modes of earning. As unfortunate as it sounds that a lot of people lost their jobs during this pandemic, it also opened an opportunity for them to invest on things that they otherwise would just shrug off if they had the consistent income employment provides. So yeah, there's that, but price-wise? Nothing.
1273  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin will replace oil and Gold on: October 17, 2020, 11:06:32 PM
Bitcoin will remain as a cryptocurrency and it can’t replace oil and gold because those are a different assets where investors can also hold. Oil is very important and there’s no replacement for this one yet despite of the growing technology, and gold exist for many decades now and it will not fade away easily. If bitcoin reach that price, I’m sure Oil and Gold is still in the market, they have to.
He meant it by relevance, not necessarily replacing gold and oil literally because those things are arbitrarily different from one another. In the coming days, bitcoin may essentially replace both commodities especially now that the world is slowly turning away from environment-harming activities which both gold and oil partake in, this will be the best period for bitcoin to shine among investors.
1274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Loan to buy Bitcoin? on: October 17, 2020, 10:10:18 PM
I think it is wiseable if we not use money from loan and only use money that actually we get. Because with buy little by little, you can see bitcoin price movement from time by time and then make any action from it. So you know when to buy or maybe when to hold. Although if price keep increased maybe you can get less amount of bitcoin. But it is only personal suggestion.
Agreed. Bitcoin is not some get-rich-quick scheme that you can throw upon a couple of hundred dollars and expect to profit in the span of a few minutes, if it has been like that I'd tell you a lot of people would've already quitted their jobs and gone full time crypto-trading. So no, the market is much more unforgiving as it seems, don't throw in money that's not yours or you'll regret it later.
1275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges are guilty of preventing Bitcoin mass adoption on: October 17, 2020, 09:41:25 PM
I strongly believe exchanges are playing a negative role in the space, mainly because of price manipulation. And if -like in any society- evil doers are not going to pay a heavy price, we all stand a lesser chance to succeed in our investment. There should not be a possibility for someone to short or long a crypto, sell or buy, unless he really holds it!
I watched this debate between Peter Schiff (Gold bug) and Anthony Pompliano (Bitcoin bug), a rare piece of what you call a high quality debate that you could barely watch these days: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wigz8z6Vm3U

In this debate, Peter Schiff said yes his company lists Bitcoin as a payment option but they don't accept it themselves, they have instead a payment provider called Bybit that pays them in dollars. Which makes Bitcoin of course more expensive to pay with since you now have a middle man.

And I think he's right in not accepting Bitcoin. Exchanges would pump the hell out of Bitcoin, dump all the bitcoins they could possibly have to buy gold and then let the market return to its normal place again.... This of course plays against Bitcoin mass adoption.

You're seeing it wrongly my friend, exchanges are really good at engaging/enticing people to invest in crypto, but it doesn't mean that the veterans cannot invest in it anymore. With it's immense price, people can definitely get pressured to use it as a payment method but honestly speaking, it's not a coin anymore but a trading asset, and it shohld only be intended to be used for the same manner, we have a few people here believing that bitcoin will beat fiat but with its current price and the current demand for fiat cash, it would be hard to implement such measure even if it would take a long time.
1276  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Card Counting in Blackjack on: October 17, 2020, 07:51:07 PM
-snip-
In my opinion, card counting is applicable to online and physical casinos. I think iit works better in online casinos because there is nothing the house can do. There are other solutions and the solutions above are applicable mostly in physical casinos.

How to count cards in blackjack link:https://www.blackjackapprenticeship.com/how-to-count-cards/
I highly doubt card counting is easier in online casinos (unless you are playing blackjack online with live dealers).
You can't be sure if the card you counted is the same deck that you are playing to your current game in online casino which I highly doubt that it is easier than the physical casino. But yes, card counting is easier in live dealers coz you can basically have just a paper and pen on your side to list all the outs and possible next draw card. It is cheating but the casino won't see you lol...

Card counting is cheating in physical casinos, however I don't see  it on TOS of any casino, nor being discussed in several threads.
1277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: New Normal Game Setup - a success or a failure? on: October 17, 2020, 07:03:29 PM
I would like to put my context of the success for this new normal game set up, it is the fact that no one gets sick after every game.
But it is not right away players get sick after a game, asymptomatic people barely shows any symptoms that they are sick thus infecting other play without them knowing. However as far as I can see with every sports that have been resumed, no one gets into some serious illness such as Covid-19.

The government indeed play a major role for the continuity of these leagues, some see the need to push through these and some don’t.
Regardless of that, safety protocols must be adhered whilst thriving to sustain the continuity of these leagues and of the economy as a whole.
Because why not? they are getting a lot of taxes in sports especially in players which they really need right now to fight the pandemic.
1278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SATOSHI !!! IS THIS LEGIT? on: October 17, 2020, 05:52:25 PM
Now, to me, it doesn't really matter who Satoshi is and wether if one day he will show hisself which is not likely because I respect his decision of not wanting to reveal his real Identity.
However, I stumbled upon this topic and took a read and I really found it interesting so I thought
' okay, let's share it on Bitcointalk.org and see what other fellas think about it'

/// here is the URL

https://cryptodaily.co.uk/2020/10/satoshi-who-strong-evidence-indicates-cartel-boss-paul-le-roux-could-be-the-man-behind-btc
Another personality added into the list? Everyone can claim that theyre Satoshi but one thing that can only prove out.

Which is to move those coins into those wallet address that he had then it will completely shut off peoples mouth and believe
on what had been claimed.

Anyone can be Satoshi but the main problem is that they cant able to prove it out.

- As I said, for me personally I don't really care who Satoshi is.. rather I care for what he cared about us leaving behind his idea...
Bitcoin

This is not a new issue to us, everyone wants to claim that they are Satoshi for the sake of fame, money, and popularity.

Satoshi's real identity don't matter to us anymore, although it is still a mystery that is currently unsolved, we should just focus on the happenings behind btc and not behind the name Satoshi.

Our bitcoins do matter the most right now, especially that we are in a pandemic. We can focus on our own growth, asset, and profits while we are not wondering who is Satoshi and making a lot of transactions through trading or wait for the bullish run. Let other people investigate and mind that issue and you just need to do your thing.
Exactly, bitcoin became bigger than its creator itself, Anybody who would claim to be Satoshi would just be shrugged off even if they happen to be the real Satoshi because the mindset that Satoshi will never reveal himself to the public is already instilled to our brains.
1279  Other / Meta / Re: Copper membership cost on: October 16, 2020, 08:41:33 PM
From what you're trying to do here in the forum, I've visited your recent posts and saw you're offering services, it is best if you have a copper membership so people will actually trust you. $24 looks  quite huge but the it is worth of the benefit that you will get unlike waiting for quite some time to gather some merits and rank. However, if $24 does not sounds good to you, you can gain merits  to rank up, up to member so you can have better benefits than being just a newbie.
1280  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you read the TOS of a gambling site? Honest answer please. on: October 16, 2020, 08:33:18 PM
Seeing the poll right now seems that 16 out of 34 users are not reading the Terms of Service of a gambling site which is I think is dangerous for them
It is not that dangerous though, there's nothing much you can do in gambling site but to gamble, deposit play and withdraw that's if you do shit outside than that without reading the term of service that's the time that you need to check it. Even me I don't read TOS, coz what the hell am I going to do with their platform, I just wanna play and other people too.

I tried reading a TOS once and to be honest I can't understand anything about it especially the legal ones, if you're not a lawyer or some sort you'll be lost to it lol
