ATM There is no pool nor exchanges just solo mining I believe is the only way to get Siacoin besides buying of course.

I would like to give humble my opinion on something.

I think it would be good to have the wallet by its single denomination of SIA rather than KS. Or both options would be fine too.

It just would feel more marketable to offer a GB of storage for 13 Sia rather than 0.01317 KS. I am sure that development has more important things to do right now but these details can matter.

Yesterday my miner said there were 2 blocks mined (at 110mhs)  but I didnt get any reward, is that normal ? (144 blocks have passed since then) ,  also another block found a few hours ago but I don't expect it's reward since this is probably the 3rd time this is happening..
So WTF is going on ?

Mining 3 blocks in a little over a day with 110 MH/s would be a miracle. What does the http://localhost:9980/miner/status report? Thinking you got some orphans or your miner is falsely reporting.

wait so if I go to
http://localhost:9980/miner/status

and it says mining is off then I'm not mining?... I'm mining on my GPU at the moment... I thought that http://localhost:9980/miner/status was only for back when CPU mining was implemented.

Someone please confirm this? I hope I haven't been mining wrong this whole time.

Yes, "Off","Mining":false means your are not CPU mining and that is normal if you are using a GPU miner.  But it should still report back mined blocks. At least it was for me when I could actually find blocks on my GPU.

In the application folder: win64\resources\app\Sia\wallet\wallet.dat

Uh, TOT ....

Totally of topic??

Tower of terror???

The Kerbal trajectory optimization tool?

Train of thought, lost it. No clue.

The miner crashed when I connected to the PC with teamviewer   Sad

Mined 4 more blocks in the last 2 hours ?!   I'll run the miner and will check it again later..

Hi,

No CPU miner available ?

I won't do it.
Unless you are extremely lucky, you're not going to mine a single block for days, with the current difficultly levels.

If you are getting 300GH/s, you should be mining ~1 block per week. If you are mining with a CPU, you should be getting ~1 block per year. It's not worth mining on a cpu.

Where/how can we check the network hashrate ? I can't access to the block explorer.
With a normal GTX 980, I can mine at about 650mh/s : I know there are some private miners with a R9 280X mining at 800mh/s, but I can't believe hashrate is so high than you need 300GH/s which correspond to a good gpu farm (375 280x) to mine a block per week.

Pretty sure he meant MH/s.

The current network rate is 417 GH :  siacoin.com:9983

Us poor AMD folk are getting much less. I just stopped mining. My measly 55 MH/s just does not cut it.

Edit: By poor AMD folk, I mean just me.  Cheesy

HI guy.

It was the version of the GPU miner, and how it was set up.

GTX 980 runs to 650MH/S

My 290X R9 just got to 120MH/S

I see it this way too. Much more complicated to think in KS than simple in SIA. This way every new user would have to ask about KS to be sure.

I'm trying to understand value propositions for exactly what Sia is, at this point.
Does anyone have any ideas of what we have here?
What makes this have value?

imo, Sia is valuable because it provides a more efficient and democratized marketplace with almost zero entry barriers for the cloud storage industry, just like ebay for the auction industry, uber for the cab industry, and airbnb for the hotel industry.

But Sia is event better and more than them because Sia is also an esay and unified payment system with the fast and hassle free transactions and built in Siacoins, which makes Sia like a more efficient and advanced paypal too. The future smart contracts will also make Sia more intelligent and automated.

This makes sense now. Siacoin' price now is about 20 satoshi/siacoin which will be going up with the growth of Sia platform. It means that the exchange between btc and sicoins will have no problem.

If I had a payout from every block found with these miners I would be a millionaire lol, definitely false blocks found. Its bugs in the mining software.

Ya I have cut my amd miners off. Even the Nvidia guys with maybe 1 or 2 gpu's will struggle as well to hit a block with the network hash so high now. Better off almost mining for a bitcoin lol

Either have a decent farm or ya got lucky in the first 24 hours of mining. Even with my AMD's I did find many blocks right out of the gate once I figured out the miner software, after a 3 hours and almost giving up, glad I didn't. but by the next day I was finding maybe 1 block each 24 hrs with 400 MH total.
