How many sia has each siafund received to date?

you can see in the block explorer how much SIA has been spent on the file contracts total which if I remember was like only few hundred SIA in total so far so they have received practically nothing and won't start receiving until mass adoption of file contracts begins.

Taek I request you add this mentioned block explorer to the ANN post, b/c my idiot self cannot find it for the life of me.

Either way, a few hundred is pretty neat.

To think, I've done literally nothing, only to come back and find that I now have a few hundred more Sia over a month or two without even having to buy them. Neat.

http://explore.siacoin.com/

I remember wrong actually the total spent on file contracts is ~42000 SIA so if you would own 1% of SIAFUNDS and the reward for SIAFUND holders is 3,9% of all file contracts you would have earned up to date about 16~ SIAcoins with your 1% holdings of SIAFUNDS... as far as I understand... so about 1600SIA have been rewarded in total to all Siafund holders. Considering block reward is 280kSIA from mining that is very puny amount.

LOL you crazy nuts rented out 96 GB of totally unregulated storage for .0002 USD / GB? Come ooooon it's gotta be a little more than that.

Like, 100x more.

Wind picked up: F4BC1F4BC0A2A1C4

probably a few more that don't matter for much.

Nope. We are in early stages all storage rented out have been for testing purphoses. Market will set the correct price eventually when file contracts start mass adpotion.

Oh right, OFC market dictates the price  Cool

It's pretty cheap though, a pretty good price for anyone looking for file hosting.

How, exactly, do I host a file though?

At this point hosting can be a little annoying you have to play with your port forwarding and firewall settings to get it work (instructions can be found somewhere earlier in this thread), but there is a solution coming very soon where hosting is also made very easy for everyone Taek wrote about it you should find that also earlier in this thread.

Excellent progress team!! Getting really excited here  Wink

So #8 With the release of version 0.4.0 it is possible to build a youtube style service? 5GB max filesize for the time being is really enough for all youtube content even 4K this is really awesome!

Perhaps we the community should setup a bounty for such an app? Surely we can get enough donations for a nice bounty for someone to code that and your team to review and approve it? Taek how much you estimate roughly in days would it take someone to code that?

Depends on how ambitious you are in setting up the website. Youtube does a lot of stuff like machine learning, and has accounts etc. Making a full YouTube clone would take ages, and require many engineers.

But if you just want to be able to stream videos that people link you, it might only take a few weeks. I'm not sure. These projects do tend to take longer than first guess though.

The API right now is still under construction for the renting. I am sorry for that. There is still a lot of work to do, but we are working hard to prioritize the right things and build up the important parts of Sia as fast as possible.

How many sia has each siafund received to date?

Storage is virtually free right now. Because siafunds depend on storage costing money, siafunds have yielded virtually no siacoins. In the coming month, I think that's going to change. The exact number is around 0.17 siacoins per siafund.  Smiley

How, exactly, do I host a file though?

There is an upload button in the ui. Ui can be downloaded here:

https://github.com/NebulousLabs/Sia-UI/releases/tag/v0.3.3.3-beta

We hope to have an update to the UI in the next few days.

Hashrate seems to be spiking again we are closing 1 TH/s. Is the pool up and running already? haven't found block in a while solomining...

As far as I know, there is no pool. It's quickly becoming a top priority for me, but there are some other things (like siafunds, and a 'Sia watch folder') that I feel really need to be done first. Thanks for being patient though.

does this mine on windows?

sorry im a bit busy with stuff but u got my interest which is good already Wink

Yes, you can mine with windows. I recommend using the 1.0.2 miner on their github.

I don't see a windows build there.  Just linux and mac.

What are your predictions about future price?

Currently SIA market cap value = 250k$ when price is around 0.00000025BTC per SIA

This will easily raise to 2,5M$ market cap and beyond so at least 10 times of current value.

It's not a promise it's working fully and developing at fast speed. Decentralized cloud platform.

 Cheesy

File storage is working today in the 0.3.3.3 client. We are in a phase of rapid development and improving on many of Sia's features. Every month there are significant improvements to the sia infrastructure.

We're really proud of what we've built so far, and really proud of what we think Sia will become in the next few months.

Devs are dumping?

Some early miners don't worry about it. I mined 14Million SIA the first day  Grin

So you understand some is tempted to take profits now.

Easily? Are you crazy or do you know a pumper? Oh wait, you are wanting to dump for a multi-million dollar market cap  Grin

$2.5M is ridiculously stupid for this coin but hey it has been done before!

Thanks for the vote of confidence  Smiley

Why do you think that $2.5M is not justified? Imho we are substantially more interesting than Dash, Litecoin, Bitshares, Banxshares, Monacoin, and a handful of others passed the $2.5M market cap. Sia is cryptocurrency with really strong fundamentals. If we leverage those fundamentals properly we will get very far.

All those coins are artificially pumped so the value is not real. Unless SIA has a huge pumper it is next to impossible. Although it might be very interesting to you, the real demand for this coin is probably less than $5,000.

I think your wrong on that. SIA has a real purpose immediately. Other uses could come later. Its not just another shitcoin for pumping and dumping.
