From the testing I have done the lack of peers seems related to Windows 10. I can't get connected to more than 2 peers even with adding many manually. I have noticed similar behavior with other coins on this OS as well with lack of peers and have not found a solution. (even with firewall disabled on machine)
When I do the same thing on Win 8.1 I have no problems getting peers with the same config, TCP and UDP port 47286 forwarded.
I run Windows 10 on all my machines, except one that runs Ubuntu Linux. Seems, like an issue with Windows 10. I have 4 peers now on Win10. I don't think the node discovery works as well on this OS and the manual additions do not have an immediate impact like on 8.1. I've been going back and forth between 3 to 4 peers, after the nodes are added. Could be something with the default network configurations of Windows 10. Just out of curiosity......are these the nodes you seem to be connected to? I wonder if only Win10 machines are connecting to each other. 18.97.7.22:42786 54.72.37.197:40308 74.196.59.103:42786 68.197.12.14:42786

@defaced
You should know ethereum have problem with missing transactions (TX don`t show on blockchain), you should check shift github and work together for solution (they have some just now updated)... will be better for both forks...
ethereum dev I don`t like, they do not communicate with ppl nor care

If people are having issues with the windows version you can always set up a Digitalocean VPS with Ubuntu 14.04 and run EXP on it and mine to it

Windows is a whole different thing to debug with and takes more time, but can be made to work well if the programmer is skilled enough.

this team is taking a whole lot more premine than the other eth coins youd think they could deliver a working network but nope. shift and soil windows networks work great.

You prolly was on wrong chain and mined alone.... check block number, also check numbers peers and port forward
shift coin had ZERO problems!
Shift coin wallet does have issues ! if you have your server ( solo mining) connected directly to your modem you will loose coins !! big time! I had to move it behind another router and yes the shift team knows about it.
As for Expanse I only started mining it a couple hours ago etc, will check the tips above ( thanks guys), gets frustrating as power costs are killing me and when you loose your days mining .....
Feel you about the power costs. I live in California, one of the worst price per kwh in the US and most parts of Calfornia have tier pricing. If electricity was 10 cent or less, it wouldn't be too bad. Even a computer at idle waste about 100~250 watts, depending on setup.

Same here. Lost all nodes during night, I was getting 25 nodes, now null. Have to restart wallet, now 4 nodes. Honestly this is pre alpha coin.
