The Denver Nuggets have the seventh-best odds to win the title in the 2025-26 season and the fifth-best amongst Western Conference teams.  ~Sports Illustrated

Just a couple years ago Denver looked ready to win several championships. Are they in position to be a real contender this year?

They already traded Michael Porter Jr., so I guess they are ready to rebuild and surround Jokic with new players for another title shot. Cam Johnson is a shooter and also a good defender, and is almost the same as MPJ. But I think the reason behind the trade is MPJ being an injury-prone player, and with a healthy Jokic, they need players who could also play almost the whole season.

Then, they now have Jonas Valanciunas for more resting time for Jokic. I think they are still in a good position for a playoff spot, but the young guns of the OKC Thunder are still scary.

They are look pretty much stronger now for those addition they get and Nuggets could lessen up the load for Jokic especially that Valanciunas is already part of their team.

Also by looking at their current situation we could really see that they are ready to have a good run for another possible title this season. They didn't lose so much player in their team but rather they get those players that can help their team to win. Somehow they became more exciting team and let see if they can able to stretch their standings since somehow for now base on odds it seems that experts are still not convince that they can defeat those strong teams that's why maybe they list them on top 7.

Oh I thought that Jonas Valanciunas is going to play in Europe as earlier there were reports that a Greek team has offered him a good contract, more than the Nuggets have offered to him. But it looks like his is going to honor the deal with the Nuggets so we will see him as the back up center for Jokic now. As for MPJ, yeah, it seems that they will not missed him as they have a replacement that has a similar playing style of him, Cam Johnson, with added bonus, as he can play defense as well. So in paper it looks like the Nuggets might go and run for another ring this season. And before we forget, they don't have their old coach so it's like a total reset for them in the upcoming year.

MPJ is the cancer of Nuggets. He is having a huge salary for a glass cannon performance depending on his move. He should be traded long time ago yet Nuggets still wait for many years for they decided to release him.

They can get a lot of good players on his salary including their weak bench if MPJ was traded which they did already this year.

OKC secure their core team long term contracts. I believe their dominance on the league will always be there now that they have championship experience.

This could turn into a big story…

Kawhi Leonard reportedly signed a $28M endorsement with a fraudulent tree-planting company, funded by Clippers owner Steve Ballmer "to circumvent the salary cap rules.”

If this is true it could mean big fines for the Clippers, possible removal of ownership from Ballmer, and maybe even a significant suspension for Leonard. Now we know why he chose the Clippers over the Lakers…

Maybe, or maybe they’re going to package Giannis and Thanasis as a package to get even more assets in return. Not that the couple million will make a big difference, but when you’re scrounging for every asset you can, you gotta take advantage of what you’ve got. That may be what we’re seeing here.
This makes a lot more sense to me. Giannis is known to like to play with Thanasis, otherwise Thanasis would have been out of the league already, long long ago, probably never even be in the league.

In fact, I have seen how Alex brother plays, and I honestly believe that kid is better than Thanasis, still not at an NBA level, if he was then he would be there, but he plays decently right now, better than Thanasis.

Giannis could go to some other team, and he will want Thanasis there too, with this way, instead of being free agent and picked up, Bucks will say they have what Giannis wants, so ask for more this way as a duo.

I know Bucks do not want to lose Giannis, they would rather keep him if they can, but all arrows point at him leaving. He doesn't have a team to win the title around him anymore, so he wants to go to a team that can actually get the title with his help.

Not sure what they are going to do, because not that many teams have the package to get Giannis, it's going to be a very tough trade.

Financially, he is paid a lot, but most teams have good players in that salary range, meaning if a team gets Giannis, they are going to probably get rid of their best player too, and not many people would be fine with that.

Yes, he will. At first he told the media about the deal with his country but then he committed to play for the Nuggets. It's not the deal but I heard a rumor that he talked to Jokic but we will not know what they discussed.
It's probably about the deal and maybe a championship promise if they will play together. I can see that happening. Two good centers. The under the rim protection will be kept and Jonas can also shoot and score. The Nuggets will be a big problem this year.

Damn, that's so crazy stuff. I mean I have seen similar cases int the past, where nothing happened even though it was fairly obvious. But this case is as obvious as it comes to be honest. Just googled and read about this for a bit and this really is plain stupidity! NBA these days really likes to investigate things so I expect this to turn into a shitshow for sure!

With Jonas they get more deeper inside protection and offensive advantage, both him and Jokic can shoot outside with them together inside the court plus the hardwork coming from Aaron Gordon that's really something fans can expect, they are a good contender for this season, it's a matter of how they will blend and established good chemistries since they've got a new coach and new players that will be playing with the core key players it interesting to see if how they'll going to run their system.

Who’s the source to this news? Source is a podcast(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OwzYk6OCFM) If true this is a very dumb idea for the Clippers to open more to their salary cap because there’s no way Leonard will accept that amount for the cut in reality and still stays in Clippers.

I hope this is not true since the Klaw career will be tainted due to silly move of the Clippers owner.

Clippers just have a good run because Kawhi is healthy last year and probably will continue this year.

A well earned bag for P.J. Washington he's one those guys that always give it their on the floor, and about PJ getting certain amount without Westbrook still looking for one, PJ Washington is 27 years old, while Westbrook would be 37 years by the time the new season gets underway, that's definitely the factor at play, Westbrook would for sure find a spot in the league, no team is just going to make him the center of attention, and would only get on when the teams are more or less done with their roster.

Washington was lethal during the playoffs, and I think giving him that contract was the right move. He deserves it as he’s a hard worker on the court, reliable with his 3-point shooting, and most importantly, solid on defense.

As long as Jokic is with them, the chance is there. But they need to strengthen their roster IMHO.

The current that they have isn't that consistent at all. They have no longer Russ AFAIK and they need one athletic guy. They can't built around MPJ.

I even cheered them to have a back to back championship but every year is a challenge to all teams. But at least, they've got their ring already.
Definitely but I think they need a good catch and shoot shooters especially in 3 point and mid range area (aside from Murray), when Jokic has the ball the defense magnetize in him and considering his IQ in passing and offense it will be really easy to win games. I definitely agree that they need to strengthen their roster too and probably improved Aaron Gordon shooting ability just like he did the recent playoffs. By the way, MPJ isn't on Nuggets anymore lol he's been traded to Nets for Cam Johnson.
They need someone who's athletic and can get along with the plays that Jokic might do.

He's the playmaker and he sees all of them easy. While Aaron is on the outside, Murray is on the outside. Someone who can do isolation and move from all sides of the paint.

Yeah, as for MPJ I've said that they can't built on him and thus, he's traded and still thanks about that update.

PJ Washington got a bag to stay with the Dallas Mavericks. He got himself a 4-year $90 million deal. Good for him. I guess as far as contracts go these days this one isn’t too bad, but we won’t be seeing him make any all star teams anytime soon. Crazy that he can get $22M and Westbrook can’t get $3M.
Washington was lethal during the playoffs, and I think giving him that contract was the right move. He deserves it as he’s a hard worker on the court, reliable with his 3-point shooting, and most importantly, solid on defense.

Now with Dallas adding the No. 1 pick, their defense should get even stronger. They’re looking like a real threat this season, and honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up winning a chip.

That video going around of his ex trying to embarrass him and make him out to be a bad father was brutal. I’m glad he signed this massive deal to change the narrative a bit. Makes it seem like his ex knew this was coming and was trying to pre-shame him for not being able to get a piece for herself.

Yes, in the court they battle, but outside of basketball, this guy might be friends as we all know Jokic is funny. So maybe he talk Jonas not to join and test it out with his team at Nuggets. And yes, he needed a back up center and Jonas is a perfect fit.

That's for sure, they will be a big problem, while other teams try to play small ball, the Nuggets are going to the old and traditional way of having one great center and then have a backup that can only play like Jonas.

But still the problem in the West is the defending champion, very young and the core is still intact and some of them might not yet in their primes. So it's scary how the Thunder will be this season.

And look at their stats last season, especially the average points, the gap isn’t huge, but the salary gap is. I think Dallas is considering his potential future contributions. His rebounds went up to 7.8 last season as well. As for Westbrook, well, he’s a future HOF, but at this point, he’s no longer the player he used to be, nor will he get back to that level. Maybe since he’s a future HOF, he thinks he should at least get a slightly higher offer, or maybe like CP3, just consider retirement, negotiate, and then go back to the Thunder.

Damn, what worst could happen, I do hope it will turn out to be just kind of mistake because that's a huge blow for Leonard's career imo. That's a dumb move for the Clippers organization and Leonard's management, they could have better answer in it.

Yeah, I definitely have him the props for reaching the 2024 Finals, he's making it on all end of the floors may it be offense or defense a definitely a good deal indeed and he deserves it. Not sure with winning a chip, Flagg is still not ripe imo he probably need more years before that, could be mind blowing if he did make it in his rookie years.

I thought Westbrook has an offer outside NBA, but why the news with Westbrook now has no team, Even Ben Simmons,
I am not  interested about Simmons as his Injury really ruin his career or he dont wnt to play. But Westbrook? He can still play hard and productive.

Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons Free-agenet
Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons have been the two headliners of prominent NBA veterans to remain free agents this summer. According to sources, both these players are expecting more than the veteran minimum salary offers from teams, and hence could be on the way to being free agents at the beginning of the summer, as teams have essentially refused to fulfill their demands.

Russel averaged 13.3 points, 6.1 assists, and 4.9 rebounds after playing in 75 games for the Nuggets

I saw the prediction markets were saying he (Westbrook) was headed to China. I’m not sure I believe that though. I don’t think it’s about the money for him. He’s got plenty and at this point his investment income probably exceeds his player salary. I think it’s about his legacy as a player, and to add stats to his legacy he needs to be playing in the NBA.

It's worth noting that the NBA has already announced that it will open an investigation. By the way, the Clippers are already hastily denying that they have broken any cap rules. So, let's hope that Leonard doesn't end up being made the scapegoat in this situation, which could potentially ruin his NBA career.
