Just FYI - EMC seems to be having connectivity problems.  I've had three instances of > 2 minutes without being able to connect..  My connection is working during those times.

I saw that happen yesterday a couple times as well... I'm not sure what its causing it.  Try switching to port 9009 and see if continues?

If you're searching these lines for a point, you've probably missed it.  There was never anything there in the first place.

I've been having the same connection issues, and it seems to happened right after we solve a block.  I noticed this 3 times lately, because my miners will switch to a backup pool immediately after solving a block.  Then they reconnect to EMC very shortly afterwards (1-3 minutes).

I don't know if that will help narrow it down or not.

And it doesn't happen at other times?  If so, it's the getwork server getting backed up... I will have to consider how best to handle that.

Hmm, I am just now having some connection issues, using port 9009 on the miners. As writing, eu.eclipsemc.com is down, but us.eclipsemc.com is up...

I just had to take 9009 offline briefly (as well as 8337).  I put up a new server in addition to the old one.

So here are the options:

us.eclipsemc.com:8337
us.eclipsemc.com:9009
us2.eclipsemc.com:8337

I think the problem/bottleneck may be in bitcoind and not the getwork server.  That being the case, I am going to have to poke at the source code for bitcoind.  Still investigating this possibility at the moment.

Is anyone still having connection problems?

us.eclipsemc.com:9009

Will try us2.//

When you say down, what do you mean exactly?  They all appear to be up and people are mining on them... not sure what might be going on as far as that goes.

Just an idea:

You could implement a warn EMail 10-15 minutes before shutting down the services. So every miner could react as afast as possible. Also a little Info / News line after logging in on EclipseMC would be great, so you dont have to switch over to the bitcointalk forum to get to know whats going on.

What is with the eu server? Is it up again?
