Where do u rent it out at? How reliable are the renters, as in how many actually set vardiff correctly and dont cause the titan to freak out? Im curious, seems like renting is moot now =/

On MRR. They're generally good at setting proper difficulty, if not a short message usually sorts it out. There are always some idiots, though.

Out of interest does anyone else have a die that only half works like this....

What happens is when bfgminer starts, it says the die is configured successfully, 0 shows around 4 amps and 1 shows around 42 amps.  There are no error messages regarding this die but after about 5 minutes it reports that it is configured successfully again, and the amps go to what is in the screenshot.

It's been like this since I got it, have tried voltage and speed tweaks so don't think there is any hope for it, was just curious.

Yes, most likley its your PCI-E Y plug or the PCI-E port on the cube. Try to remove and reseat the pci-e connector. Look to see if its brown or burned. Im working on a pci-e connector with thicker gauge wire that uses 3 female plugs to 1 male plug. Im hoping to ease the load on the wires. Ill should be selling these in about 2-3 weeks. Need to test first.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I just released my software called "Yobit pump alert". THis is custom software that uses an algo to detect the start of a pump here on yobit, the second it starts. YOu can even filter the coins you see by price. Most pumps start less than 100 sats , so you can easily filter the cheap coins, so they are the only ones displayed Smiley https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1945937.msg20241953#msg20241953

you are wrong about erricson

jupiter november batc which
is best at overclocking

had the same vrm that titan had
low version

and overclocking is best

but the titan is pulling 1250 watts or some such the KNC Jupiter pulls what around 725 watts so myself I think because KNC originally said
the Titan would be 100mh and then 250mh ....I would guess (imho) that they designed the board for a 250mh miner..thus it is ALREADY
overclocked as much as possible (and also the need for y cables over original design seems to show that to me also)

this is again imho why the dies are so flaky and such over 300mh ..the whole kit and kaboodle was only made for a maxed out 250mh device
again imho ....getting 300mh is better then expected getting 350 mh is an over clocked dream when you look at the design

anyway my take/suppositions ..not that I know wtf I'm talking about.....that and they wanted only a 3 month warrenty it may be a guess
on my part but I bet there is some truth in there

Guys the stability of the titans can be improved so that they dont break down or overheat all the time. Im working on ways to repair them and make them stronger so they dont break down as much. Hang in there, there is a lot of trial and error I need to do. This will include larger , faster fans, enhanced cooling on the vrms, and thicker gauge 3 to 1 pci-e connectors. When Ive got everything working perfect , I will offer my services to the public. Ive got atleast 13 dead titan cubes, so I have plenty to practice on Wink

I don't think that's it as I use the Shakmods cables and it's been plugged and unplugged a few times as I've moved it around my server room and I always double check given the silly level of current going through them, but will definately look again the next time i'm there, thanks Smiley

Sadly the only limitation is not within the cables themselves. Its within the PCIE 6pin connector as well, its actually rated up to like a max of 23A current. We run these things really close to that limit ..... 24/7

Hello,

Where did KNCMiner's Jupiter Support Page and Forums go?? I been out of the mining loop for the past six months, and now I can't find Jupiter stuff anywhere on KNCMiner's website.  Huh  Long story short, my computer crashed recently, and the ONLY things I didn't have backed up anywhere else was all my KNCMiner firmwares/config files/etc.! But now I need all that stuff again to set up a new miner, and it is like KNCMiner erased Jupiter's existence from the Internet. Well I did find one thing...

https://github.com/KnCMiner/images

which just has the stock firmwares...but I am looking for two things specifically...

-latest BertMod firmware...I remembered looking for it last year, and that was a PAIN, but I found it. However, I don't have it anymore and I would like to know where I can find it again.
-Next, the simple, but useful 'enablecores.bin' file. I can not find this file anywhere, Google is definitely failing me on this one! I am guessing someone is going to have to send it to me or host it somewhere...

thanks in advance!

yeah when messing about with my die(s) (1 die dead in two cubes) I get that once in awhile...never can get them both back thus why the 2 dies on 2 cubes
are set to OFF

as I've said before if I power down my unit say 7 times to tweak like I did to set a couple dies down from 325 to 300 on adv page due to heat (summer) and
got a cube 10c on the adv page die temps down as a result

with the constant power downs in those 7 power downs and up etc..... 2x I had dies on OTHER cubes come up as dead so again re-power and the 6th time
before reboot I lost a whole cube....so when all worked the 7th time my ambition for further tweaking to play with the previous back in the day dies that were
set to OFF was less then enthusiastic to say the least

would be nice to get a 'former' tech from knc on here see what they do/did to get stuff back up ..but I suppose he (thou no longer employed) signed a NDA.

Why to used that Huh.

it is the only way you can do the FULL img to a NEW SD card (i use Sandisk 8gb class 10 SD's)

only way I play with stuff new SD just follow the instructions should still be on the www.kncminer.com page

and of course the instructions for the tweak on here for the new stuff you hopefully have downloaded

That was something we were considering , but after looking everything over, its a really bad idea. Im sure Tarkin will remove that option in the next release.

@GenTarkin. The biggest threat to these miners is the temp of the VRM. I think the critical temp of the vrm is around 85C. Can you put a switch in that will shut down the die @85C , that we can choose to have this active or not, or even better have a drop down to choose the shutoff temp, and a switch to activate or not.  I can send more btc if you can do this. This prevents permanent damage to the VRM, thats what overheats, NOT the processors or dies.

this is a dumb question..i know zip about such things..but can you put some kinda heatsink (assuming you can find some that fit) on the vrms...or is that just silly? (likely) Smiley

The problem is getting an exact fit between the heatsink and the vrms, then you risk crushing the vrms as they are ceramic. With that soft thermal pad, its gentle, and when you tighten the heatsink its soft and spongy.

UPDATE: have a working VRM checker. It basically disables the die whos VRM is over 85. It simply turns it to OFF in webgui and restarts bfgminer. The die can of course be turned back on by selecting a freqency in webgui and reapplying settings.
Controlling it via webgui is probably not gonna be an option at least for now. I have no idea how that portion of the webgui code works lol.
Will post when its ready for download =)
