i read alot about those frankenjups being built from used parts. is there any proof for that? i mean was there dust in the coolers or something like that?
ImI, a lot of people said there was thermal paste smeared on the chips and it looked like someone tried to clean it off. "thermal paste is" NO PROOF AT ALL (They need to test them, right?) Proof is when the unit reports back as "Saturn"!Some in the forum had that happen. I had some boards with dust sitting on them as well

31 days after my Refund request Anna keep rolling the same " it will be transferred in few weeks" .
One month lies and BS.
Is it sure that the bank accounts of KNC are still not blocked by Swedish government?
Something start smell here. 1 Month for refund is really a lot, even for cheap bastards like KNC.
Just to remind you guys:
Don't send any Money to KNC. Don't buy any nonrefundable hardware from them.
KNC is SCAM NOW and they going to score Fraud of 2014. Hold on for Q5
Same issue, been 5 weeks for a USD refund of 1 unit and they keep delaying.

Thermal paste and fingerprints all over the place on the cards. Some of them smell like mold.

Just an observation, but Brock Pierce sits on the board of IMI Exchange, which makes this post and your very first one really weird.

Do you really think they dont want to get rid of all their old equipment as they upgrade their dc to newer more efficient Neptunes?

LOLOLLOLLL any proof how about thermal paste smeared on boards that have been cleaned and controllers with hostnames saturn-NNN they used, im sick of this shit, who wants to take legal action lets stop talking about it and fucking do it let's review KNC trolling their customers....... "Convert your Neptune order to a 3TH Jupiter. For those customers who no longer want to wait for their Neptune we have another new option for you. We are releasing for shipment a new 3TH product. We have a total of 400 of these setups available which are based on our existing and proven 28nm chips. Each setup contains ◦ 18 of our own 28nm 8 DC/DC module ASIC boards with coolers, ◦ 3 controller cards, ◦ all cables needed, ◦ Power supplies not included. The boards are in aluminum boxes, each box contains 3 chips side by side with front and rear cooling vents. Each controller card runs two boxes. This option will be offered free of charge for anyone wanting to convert their Neptune to a 3TH Jupiter. If more than 400 people want to have the conversion we will ship in order of payment for the original Neptune order. This offer will be open for 7 days for people to contact us. After 7 days from today the exchange will be frozen and people will be contacted who made it onto the queue. The products will then be shipped from stock as soon as possible. This will be offered at no cost to the customers wanting to take 3TH of Jupiter’s instead of waiting for their Neptune’s. There is a 90 day warranty on this product. Anyone wanting to take this option should contact customer service via email with their order number who will then take care of the conversion. ----- So the only thing *new* about this *product* was the flimsy sideways box they chose to cram it in... nowhere did they say it was a new production run of modules##### "Jupiter 3TH The window for conversions has now closed we have had over 400 conversions which means we are actively trying to fill all of the orders we have but we will contact customers individually if they are too far back in the queue to be converted. The good news is that the shipment for these orders will begin Tuesday next week after the Easter holidays and we expect it to take only a few days to have all boxes shipped out to customers" ----- what to say except hahha suckers!!! but we wont interrupt our Easter dinner to build those flimsy boxes and halfass ship them until we get around to it##### "Upgrade cards. We have also released 400 upgrade cards for those of you who wish to still purchase them. They are being shipped from stock.." ----- hahah from stock.. nice way to say used or broken bin or so crappy we didn't ship them as frankenjups

Honestly when I saw the first un-boxing of a Jupiter on youtube I knew they weren't certified as a consumer product. If KnC had gone for a consumer product we might have gotten the October rigs this October. It would be illegal for KnC to sell something to a "consumer" without the proper certifications on the units. (I'm not defending them, but for a product to come out that quick it really can't have a consumer "rating.") So basically we are all buying "engineering samples." But I don't know the laws for if or how a company verifies--if at all--it's selling to a business vs. a consumer.
The big thing for me now is, as I was building an Script rig I realized that the 6-wire PCI-e cables are rated at 75 watts (150 for the 8 with the 2 extra grounds). I have actually fired a couple of cable connectors over-clocking October boards to 200 watts. So I think I've decided that getting any November boards and over-clocking them to 300 watts on a cable that can handle 150 is a bad idea. Those boards were seriously under engineered as far as power goes. Fortunately the heat only builds up in the connectors (mostly) but still.
I guess it's time to sell my KnC miners.
