Shocked Shocked What a nightmare to get that in the mail Shocked

Me unpacking my $10,000 investment:

http://youtu.be/UsPYcQlMlGk

¡Ay, caramba! I could see that at least 2 of those heatsinks had old thermal paste on them (i.e. used goods - because knc are cheap bastards). And there is no way knc can claim those capacitors were knocked off from bad handling - there is almost an inch of bubble wrap between the boards and the heatsinks  Shocked

And where the fuck are the anti-static bags for all those boards?!
They must have wanted them to arrive broken or useless to not even put them in anti-static bags  Huh

It's a sorry sight guys, terrible to see how low knc have stooped on this one. And I'm really sorry you guys got such a pile of garbage - must be sickening to the stomach  Undecided I tried to warn everyone knc are cheap scum-fucks

Um, no, even Kurt at KnC says never do that.... 2 boards = min. 280 watts not over-clocked 1 PCI-e absolute max is 150 (safely)

Sgt. Moth wins the "Boobie prize" for best pic of the year,
as well as 1st place in the "Who got the most broken parts" contest.
That's just Franken-nasty! Wow.  How many thousands did that mess cost again? shish. That was a single machine?
I think I'd start crying if I opened my box and saw that.

But ooh, Kurt Anna says it's okay to plug those in...    omg.

No worries Moth...  shouldn't effect the performance any.  Shocked

sgtmoth, you did get it bad, bet yours were shaken around like maracas!! you even have broken capacitors, wowser.

a question for the 'electroinic's guys" on here

can he get this stuff 'fixed' for beer pizza swapped boards or is this first order (which would be nice to salvage and stick it to knc)

or is from what you see from his pics ...completely unfixable?

curious

(my jupiter showed up held together with the middle gone in soggy box and had thus to be hand carrieed 2 hands by the dhl guy...and was full of
rain water...it worked fine...my only view is it got wet at the beginning of the trip and had to be hand carried with the midddle 1/3 gone soggy mess
and all

then they said they  were gonna 'improve their packaging"

someone lost that memo

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

It depends on the level of damage to the PCB.  If the PCB pads are intact (not missing and/or lifting)  the board can likely be repaired.  However, it's likely going to be a huge pain in the ass trying to find where all of the capacitors go in sgtmoth's case.  If it's one or two it's not too bad.  If the boards are that damaged there's no telling how many other solder joints are compromised and checking that will be a huge PITA.

+1 Those are pretty big solder points and beefy boards actually...  if one had a cheap supply of proper caps & resistors, he could do some justice imho. if it wasn't too bad... per board basis....

Would be a nifty group buy project
