Most likely
1) "We are on track. Plan B is out of question. Wafers are produced and we will receive the chips these days. No more refunds, since production (of the cases/controllers/whatever) has already been started. Shipping will start begin of June."

Less likely
2) "We delayed yesterday's news because we recognized a design flaw in our 20nm product. We wanted to be 100% sure about it before telling you that it needs another 6 months from now on to receive working ones, but you will receive another free miner, so chill"

Or if they want to screw you totally (and keep diff low for themselves)
3) "Dear customers, due to frozen USD funds and all the cancellations we can not afford to assemble the miners on our own and will send you for each order a wafer. The PCB design will be available on github soon as well as a list of referenced producers. Each wafer can yield up to 7TH/s and we feel this is a proper compensation."

..and Thou shalt spread the coin in the name of cryptography for eternity

I dont think im going to need any more boards, but the one beaglebone is broken and ill need plastic pieces for one box.  Some broken boards seem to work, some of them really slow.  If I ran 22 boards, should be close to 3, some boards are overheating, 118 highest temp, i turned those down.  I stole the beaglebone out of my oct jup.  ran out of therma pasta, enough testing today, hopefully my garage doesnt burn down tonight...

does anyone know where you can buy the ethernet part of the beagelbone(top part)

The top part with the Ethernet jack is the Beaglebone Black, the larger board is the custom controller board.

except the ether port has been removed from the KnC 'custom' BBB's

Actually if you look the Ethernet Jack is there, it's the power jack that's missing.  (how can you run a miner without Ethernet?)

I wish they would at least post some new teaser shots.  They are getting rid of the control boards because they originally stated (on page 7 of the news or 6 (I was looking for a pic of the back of the board)) that the current controller could support 1.2TH/s and space was left to add a second linux controller if needed.  So I'm guessing they have some new one and just like everything else trying to get rid of the excess "old" stuff from the datorhall.

Actually I would think a BBB could support a lot more than 1.2TH/s, there are 1TH boxes with Pi's in them ....

My sources tell me TSMCs 20nm finfet+ process is in such  terrible state that you should expect close to zero devices this year. Everyone and their dog is scrapping 20nm products and/or running from TSMC.

Now Ill grant that a bitcoin asic is by far simpler than a CPU/SoC/GPU,  so if anything can be made to work on their process, it may well be a bitcoin asic, but to say that things go worse than planned would be quite an understatement. So Im not holding my breath.

In other news, lead time for 28nm just increased to 16 weeks:
http://www.kitguru.net/components/anton-shilov/tsmc-extends-28nm-chip-lead-time-to-16-weeks-puts-chip-designers-at-risk/

Thats just TSMC, but Id expect spill over effects to the other fabs just as well.

Yes, spill-over seems likely.

However, most 28nm Btc Asics should have taped out by now, and those who haven´t will probably get another fab.

20nm is still experimental, and therefore production will be a bit of a gamble and 2-3 months from tapeout to chip doesn´t seam realistic to me.

More like 4-6 months, with all the delays and hurdles.

Do a search for 28nm on this thread and you'll see as much if not more concern that 28nm wasn't possible in May/June/July 2013 and KnC were a sham. I'm not saying that they won't have delays, but they have beaten expectation the keyboard experts on this forum before, who's to say they won't again?

28nm delays are irrelevant for Neptune, not sure if their scrypt miner is 28 or 20nm, I imagine 28nm.

28nm delays at TSMC don't affect 20nm, TSCMC has two dedicated fabs (fabs 12 and fab 16) for 20nm that are separate from the other 28nm fabs and was due to bring another 20nm fab (fab15) online in May.

Trust me, 20nm is a big trouble for small capacity customer, not only the minimal order capacity also order priority, which means lead-time of process plus batching waiting time buffer, also knc not really update schedule, so every thing we talking here is air.

I guess, knc on hand chip is 28nm, if I were them, I will ship by end of May, actually 28nm is 20nm already, just ship product us and offer firmware later, than everybody happy.

so is that the guess on here on what knc is going to announce? ....virtual hashing of 6th because the 20mm chips are delayed the likely outcome?

I guess that would make sense if they had good news on the Titan why we have not heard anything..hard to toss good news or any news
on the titan if no news on the neptune at all.... (or bad news not hearing anything...on the titan also is possible i guess)

guess we will know this week maybe?

Personally no one here represent by knc, so what I'm talking about were guessing and air, need official announcement from knc then we have confirmed.

Otherwise, just guess and air, except junk Jupiter and broken package, hope the worst time is passed, rest good thing remained for future!
