Can't do 7x 8gb nvidia cards on msi z97 - memory address / allocation issue that I think is hard coded to mobo. I went deep down that rabbit hole messing with IRQ settings, memory addresses and a bunch of other stuff before figuring this out. You can run 7x 4gb cards on that board - most people use 470s or 480s for this.
I have 7 3gb cards, 1060 but I only have a celeron 34$ proc in it

What CPU are you using? I heard it requires a XEON for extra pcie lanes. It's not an issue with having enough PCIE lanes, as that board does. I think it's the 8gb cards causing a limitation with memory allocation. One person that I know of got around this issue but could only use 3.5gb per card. The other option is a server backplane with 2x xeons - but it's cost prohibitive for mining.

Yea unfortunately its a no go for me to, tried everything I could think of, even took all out and installed 1 at a time, then reboot. Still did not work. I saw a thread by someone who had 7 working in windows but they had amd and are using 8.1 pro. I had a couple other computers in the house so I just threw the 7th in that one to mine. Really wish I could find someone that got 7 nvidia cards working in windows.
@pintycar, out of curiosity, have you tested pascalcoin on your rig yet, I tried sgminer pascal and it fails with 6 cards trying to use 2 threads each. I dont want to hyjack this thread so if you have it working, can you PM me your setup?
Hmmm that's a shame. Although it makes sense now that I've read TeamGreen's answers too. Meh, 6 is enough and they get more ventilation that way. Regarding PascalCoin, no I haven't tried it yet. If I do and get decent results I'll send you a PM.

I have 4 rigs with 7 x rx480 8g cards on msi z97 gaming 5 and they works fine, but in case with 1070 it's only 6 cards on this mobo ((

Hi! Just got a Gigabyte 1060 6GB Gaming a few days ago, miner works fine Maybe I've been away from Nvidia too much time but I can't figure out why boost clock won't jump to full when I start the miner, it jumps only to 1595 Mhz, mining only 265 sol, but if I start a web browser like Firefox it will jump to 2114, mining at 308-315 sol depending on memory oc Is it a driver issue? I'm using the latest one https://i.imgur.com/BCr9ooa.jpg

Hello Any ideas why i cannot connect to suprnova.cc with this miner? mining LBRY with ccminer on suprnova (same rig) is fine, but this miner wont connect. miner --server zec-us.suprnova.cc --port 2142 zec.suprnova.cc also doesn't work. doesn't connect is suprnova supported? thanks indkt

For me this happens when i have crhome on, or GOG console for example.

Yeah, usually this happens to my when I have chrome open. open the nvidia control panel and in the "manage 3D settings", change power management mode to maximum performance (adaptive should work too). The default is power saving for some reason.

6x GTX 1070 only 860w at the wall and ~2530-2600 sol/s There is no reason to increase GPU speed with TDP limit - we get the same.

Equihash is more GPU core intensive, you should run OC@150-595, for me @ 60% tdp (110w per card / 825w @ wall) i get ~2640 sols/s with 6x gtx 1070 rigs

I prefer to set them on a fixed % because they'll wear a little less overtime, but it's a danger if your environment isn't properly controlled to have overheat.

You are talking about memory speed? No i said GPU core, so talking about the processor (gpu) of your graphic card, not the memory. Equihash is much less memory intensive than gpu intensive, hence why boosting overlock of the gpu give you better result.
