Do you feel shameful for being a gambler?

no of course , people should be ashamed only when they are addicted cause the addiction is the real problem
I live in a country where gambling is considered a bad thing , but recently people are more open minded and in general I don't care whatever they think 
I have fun when playing casino games also I have fun and make a little bit money when playing poker

I don't think people should be shameful for being a gambler. Some gamblers are just purely risk takers that they wanted to take risks in the casino itself. There are people robbing other people in the city everyday, they don't feel shameful on what they're doing. Some of them might even be proud of it when they get some good phone by stealing it from other people.

Online gambling is illegal to some countries and maybe not following the law might be something that you should be ashamed of but gambling is considered as a normal thing nowadays. If someone caught you gambling, they wouldn't freak out or something since they, themselves, most probably have gambled in their life before.

Yeah. In my country. It is illegal and many foreign online gambling owners that based here are already on jail and some are deported back to their country. That's why gambling in my country is a shameful thing because people will think that you are a irresponsible and no ambition in life. But it is a case to case basis for any person situation.

No, I don't really feel shameful for being a gambler.
I had a fun time back then. Gambling has its ups and downs.
Also gambling teaches you many important things in life, like to control yourself.

My family knows about this that I am a gambler, but they are proud of me that it is not my habit to gamble continuously. I always gamble and go for the best available times when I feel that I will win. That way, I feel secured from losing everything at once, and the only reason why I don't feel shameful, but feel proud on myself sometimes.

i think gambling is not something to proud on it and specially if you are addicted. i think no parents can feel proud on their parents to play gambling, they will never like their children to lost money or become addicted, in our society if my parents or elder know about my habits of gambling they will really charge me for that.

That's normal, you can't expect anyone who is in their straight way of life to tell you that gambling is just fine. Even those things that they don't know, they consider it as a bad habit or a wrong doing. You need more time so you could convince them that you are doing just fine in trading, but I doubt if you could convince them that gambling is good and that you are just fine.

But if you are sure that your gambling habit is not bad, then don't be ashame about it.

Yes in many cultures gambling is considered as a bad thing, but it never really is about the culture or the country, it is about the person who ever it is and its status in life(i.e. he/she has a family to feed etc..).
for me, I don't feel ashamed for being a gambler I don't have a family to feed but I, and I'm able to control myself whenever I feel that I am losing and that's when I stop.

for me, I don't feel ashamed for being a gambler I don't have a family to feed but I, and I'm able to control myself whenever I feel that I am losing and that's when I stop.

Yeah i also feel the same way. If you're not affecting other's people's lives with your gambling, then there's nothing to be ashamed of. Though i don't think its something to be proud of as well unless you're a renowned professional gambler.

If it is already a relative of yours that's telling you, that means there is something wrong with the way you gamble... If it is your girlfriend, maybe she don't know that you are a gambler before...Don't worry about it, she'll get used to it once she saw you betting always... But if she is not comfortable because of it, maybe there's something that you need to change... A girl never reacts as long as what you are doing is not affecting here or if your gambling activity turns you into someone else that she don't know...

It's one of those things that most people only find shameful when they realize that they're getting addicted.

Let us not be addicted with gambling so we will not gonna be shame on it, there is nothing to be ashame for when we are doing it for entertainment or when it is giving us great income. I like to gamble because I have more fun when it is part of my daily routine but I always remember the risk to enable me to control myself.

I guess it depends on what kind of gambler you are, for you to be ashamed. You can be ashamed if you are that type of gambler which have so many debts because of being addictive to gambling and losses all of his money, that is why all he knows is to borrow money to his friends or in a bank just to have money, for him to use in gambling, which in the end, he ended up broke and got nothing, that is the thing that we should avoid because it the shameful thing that we can ever have as a gambler.

Is there really a society that does not allow people to gamble? if so, then they do not have the freedom. I am happy I live in a place where I can gamble anytime I want, I can do it with my friend and even with my relatives, that is how open we are because we always consider gambling as just a way of having fun. I even encourage them to gamble online and they are very receptive to it.

For me I don't feel to be ashamed for being a gambler because I gamble my own money that I earned and worked for it. Unless I am gambling my parent's money I will be ashamed for it. This question depends on your own perspective about gambling.

in fact  in most of the societies gambling is consider as bad activity may be because of its addicted attitude, and people in such societies do not treat to such people with honour, therefore such people feel shame when people people know about their gambling activities. therefore to me i think online gambling is the best solution for that. as one can play anonymously and no one will know about hi identity and therefore he will never fell sham for it.
