Do you feel shameful for being a gambler?

You hurt yourself if you lose unless you are doing it for fun. For me personally, I do it for fun therefore even when I lose I just feel nothing about it. The amount that I use for gamble is quite low as well therefore I dont really feel anything even when I lose while some people are completely different , they were triggered when they lose

I do gambling with my own money and gambling never interrupt my responsibility towards the family. Nevertheless,  I keep hiding my gambling habit from my family members. I would be very embarrassed if they knew it. Not solely because of the money, but, in my culture, gambling will always be a shameful thing to do under any circumstances.

That's the better thing to do to avoid problem within the family, too bad there are people who believe that gambling is really that bad. Actually, old people think that way but we who are living in the new world are always thinking this is just part of the entertainment.
I hope we can educate them and not that they will educate us letting us follow on the culture without real basis why gambling is bad.

What you are doing is different most of the time sports betting is online gambling. What he meant is most of the gambers who visit casino's to do gambling are made to be felt ashamed by the society he lives because those people feel gambling is bad.

Go somewhere else or live somewhere else where people are open about gambling if you really want to be happy and you cannot sacrifice your love to gamble. There are countries which does not restrict their people to gamble and I guess they are very fair with their judgement.
Some countries declared gambling as illegal so the community will think you are doing something that is against the law and therefore that is something you should be ashamed of.

Who is the law or religion who decides what humans are allowed do and what they are not like gambling is eventually hurting others physically or mentality in any way. It id our money our profit ,our loss

believe me if you live at a religious/discipline environment , you will feel how shame you are caught make money through gambling.
they will never respect you and even consider you as a ragtag not skillful etc.

Than you have to move on and change that environment. If they are not clever enough to accept modern science and rational behavior, than what's the point to hang out with them? Find yourself a decent company without medieval preconception.

Well thats a fair answer, but if we think about how proud are we if we lose our profit which is intended budget for a family needs then we must be ashame for that. We should not make it as good example if we don't really value what we have lost, because its so shameful if we are not a profitable gambler and you always remained losser, during your betting games. Being proud is good when you are wealthy in playing with your profit, but shameful to most people if the small money you have for the family was loss for gambling just for hoping lucky winnings which you think profitable if you win.

That is why I don't like to play in front of my loved once. And I will not play with my close friends also, But yes it's really shameful if it happens like this. And in some country, people don't care for anything they will play without any tension. Because there gambling is not illegal and people will not care if you lose money in gambling.

Well if I got that kind of treatment from them, I will just ignore them until they stop. It also happened  to me but I never got bully by them because they know that even I lost big amount of money, I have other source of money and they will only think of it as .. just a lost regardless of how big or small the lost was.

It's sad when someone makes fun of one instead of supporting when one had lost huge money. that's why one has to gamble for fun only or not tell at all, it'll hurt you more when you'll be made fun of.

if you have good planing for gambling for example you play gambling for a limit and never try to cross that limit and if you play gambling with your pocket money then you do not need to feel shameful for playing gambling as you can complete your responsibilities in a good way. i in such area where gambling is illegal and if a person is still playing gambling there then he will be feeling shameful to play gambling there.

Letting gambling to take control of your life and make it ruin you.  You can have rehabilitation as repentance and total stop of gambling.

What you should know is to be aware the risk in gambling, that way you will be able to control yourself not to experience consequences of irresponsible gambling. For me, there is nothing to be ashamed of if you are doing it for fun only and you are not stealing the money you spend in gambling.
Only when you outcome is not favorable to us maybe we should be ashamed as for sure we are making mistakes in managing ourselves in gambling.
