My BF on Slash seems to be way off... 38 on my end and was 7, then 12 now 16 on pool's end. Sad

Current round takes more than 10 hours now.
The hashing power is calculated from current round at the pool's end. So if you have started during current round, your shares submitted during your connection are divided by the whole time that has elapsed from current round start, i.e. longer than you've been submitting. The ratio converges to the correct value as the time goes, but will never reach it. In the next round, the calculation will be OK already (as long as you won't disconnect).

Thats an option! You heard the man hurry up people.

█ ♠ Coinroll.it - 1% House Edge Dice Game ♠ █ • Coinroll Thread • *FREE* 100 BTC Raffle

I'm afraid I'll have to start ignoring users with colored ads in their signatures. Especially with the ads for dice games...
And I believe I won't miss too much by doing so. :-)
They seem to post more often than they should do, just to multiply the occurence of their ads... For several miserable Satoshis they contaminate and dilute the forum contents.
[edit]Certainly I have paid ads on my mind. I.e. not ads for their own businesses.[/edit]

No, not nearly.  That 99.xx is the probability of finding a solution within the number of shares you've submitted - not how much of a block you've evaluated.  The block you are working on changes every time someone else finds one, or a new transaction gets picked up.  You actually don't work on solving the same block for much more than a few minutes at a time....

Unfortunately, it only goes to 99.99%.  You are never 100% assured of finding a block within a certain number of shares....

I have never seen a block this long and our network hash rate so low, very frustrating.

USB miners always work at Diff 1, so I don't know why you're trying to change them...
What? We are talking about the workers diff... Mine just happens to be using 43 USB miners and the pool now has the workers diff set at 9

What happens if I drop out of a long round? Does whatever I have computed so far goes to waste?

Depends on how long the round goes after you leave.  Short answer, though, is yes.  You run the risk of getting nothing.

honestly the drop out rate is really really bad.  I belive there's an algorithm in place to stop "pool hopping" that really really penalizes you for dropping in the middle and re-joining.  Basically my miners kept going down and you basically get murdered.

But then when you rejoin you tend to remake it close to what your estimates were in a decent amount of time (probably not with this ultra marathon session tho...)

where are u seeing this diff of 9? at your My Account page? or u are staring at the output from cgminer/bfgminer etc?
if it isnt on your account page, then u need to minimize that window and stop nit picking, u r gunna die of old age

Holy cow 14h with ~57TH/s for one block.
I'd really be interested if someone maintains a negative "Highscore" list for cases like that :-D

If you lose internet connection that often, you should consider switching to a PPS or perhaps a DGM pool.

Howdy.

Has anybody else's re-ward dropped over the last six or seven blocks or so? Is is just me? All my machines are online... weird... I'm still /relatively/ new at this, and don't understand everything. I guess it's just one of those things.

We've added a lot more hasing power the last few days.  I think it went from low 50's to high 58Thash/s so you're doing less of the overall work lately than before.  Thus a lower percentage of the reward :/
