I tried that once and people on this thread were willing to sacrifice me for the cause instead of donating.

It's true, lol

I just pulled another 50% of my Slush hashing power because these long rounds are making me sick and slush is no longer interested in monitoring my hash rate properly. I'm seeing what others are noticing, a slightly marginal (20-30%) drop in hash rate for no apparent reason.

I increased my hash rate by about 500% a couple days ago and have been frustrated by the long rounds.  Watching blockchain.info and seeing some pools solving 5+ blocks in a row frustrated me even more.  Then I started looking over the stats of different pools and my frustration went away.  Eligius has roughly double the hash rate of slush and had a 10.5 hour long block in the last 24 hours.  In the end luck will always even out.  It's impossible to chase after luck based on short term variance with any kind of reason or logic.  You'd probably be just as successful reading chicken bones to determine where you should mine.  No one was complaining when our luck was over 200% the other day.  heh..

I haven't noticed any problems with my hash rate.  Are you saying that your hardware is hashing slowly or that the pool's calculated hash rate for your miners appears low?  If the calculated hash rate is different all you need to check is that the accepted shares per round on your mining software matches the accepted shares on the pool.  As long as those two numbers match then the calculated hash rate being displayed should be irrelevant in determining your reward per round.

Does Slush still pay out every 15 minutes? How does that actually work now? I have my payout set at 0.1 and I have 0.11057241 reward sitting there, when will it be paid? Am I missing something here? Obviously I want to sell why it's high...

The FAQ on Slush'e web site https://mining.bitcoin.cz/faq/#payouts  says "Pool is sending payouts automatically every 15 minutes".  In my experience it tends to happen every whole hour, but not always.  Eventually you'll get your payout, the delay is frustrating, but we learn to cope with that...

have not notice any drop in my hash rate? It even seems the miner auto diff is better than what was at first because I don't get the wild swings in it that I did at first.

Dudes, Help me out here - Im flamin'well confused about this whole block mining again.
If a pool is spending 10 hours trying to mine a block (put all the bits in the right place) then when I mine solo how come I see a new block popping up every 2 to 8 mins? My CG miner then goes onto the new block (disgarding the work done on the previous block)

Im I misunderstanding this? (probably Smiley ) if not, how can I tell my CG miner to mine a block until its solved rather than start working on a new one every few minutes?

FRom my understanding, Everyone races to solve a block when a new block is found on the network so why the heck is Slushs Pool spending hours solving a block?

Oh - and BTW - I have a blog here you may be interested to look at, it shows my ASIC BFL Miner Mod http://bfljalapeno.blogspot.co.uk/

http://bfljalapeno.blogspot.co.uk/

Dontations would be lovely btw from all of you lovely people - Just sayin' Smiley
I really own like 0.06 of a bitcoin currently after a couple of months trying to solo mine with these bad boys, sigh I turned to SLushs Pool and Im close to my first 0.1 Smiley just another week to go Smiley)

Look like you don't understand mining.
"Solving blocks" is a random process, there's no any progress, so when a block is found on the network, you start mining "on top" of it.
There's no any sense in continuing mining oon top of older block.

So... Slushs pool ALSO moves onto the next block found on the network and 10 hours mining a block is actually 10 hours since it found one (others have been and gone since)

Is this right?
If you observe your mining software or the Slush stats page you'll see that this pool moves to the next block if the current block was solved by someone (could be another pool). It keeps moving until it solves a block. If we are extremely lucky we'll solve 2 blocks in a row, but usually it takes hours and quite a few blocks between successful blocks by Slush.

Slush's pool generated a transaction without any fee:

This transaction is waiting to be validated... How long a validation for transaction without fee?

Received my payout but it was delayed by a few hours. In the end it doesn't matter because I've never had Slush NOT pay out.

I've got a transaction from Slush's today but its status is "Seen by 4 peers. Pending/Unconfirmed"

It's been like that for over 5 hours, dunno what I can do about it.

Wait longer Wink

Its nearly 24 hours now, how long would you wait, and is there even anything that can be done about it?

Guess its just wait and see, it appears some people jipped on the transaction fee so now we all have to wait.

it's been about 24 hours as well for my "payout" and nothing is showing in the blockchain either...
Guess i'll be using one of my backup pools

It shows in my payout history... But nothing was sent.
