last time it happened there was there was talk of a more adaptable difficulty calc, but nothing's actually broken, everything's working as it should: - the intense hash rate increases the difficulty - when it's taken away the difficulty is still high so blocks take a lot of time until the difficulty subsides

Well yeah, though last time it wasn't so much GHs added ... the patch day is still far away

Ever notice that when most people say, 'no offense,' they are totally being offensive?
So, Gnosis has already addressed the idea. In the future, if/when we need to expand security, there can simply be a message added to wallets, wiki, forums, websites, etc. which warns zANC holders that they must redeem their coins before a specified date.
And with certain agencies already crowing about the increased security of apple and android, it's sure that wise persons will want to protect their privacy.
A nice solution.
Keep up the good work, gentlemen. You are actually helping to make the world a better place.

Are the devs aware? The devs are aware of these attacks since weeks. The attackers use a power of more than 150 Gh/s (99% attack ). They can fork ANC as they want or shutdown it. Thanks for the info..

EDIT: Such a power can come only from a big organization or a state. If the same attack our RSA keys, they will broke them in few days!
No^^ they won't just break the keys with this. 150 GHs is not that much Anyway, if you read about these kind of things (its still possible that there is no attack at all) an "attacker" can't do much to the network, or to the coins that already have been transferred.

What about the 158 GH of network hashrate !!!! Is it clear whether or not is there an attack going on. Is there any credible info ?
just to clearify, there appears to be a larger multipool which periodically mining our coin. I roughly estimate the hashrate of this multipool is 5-6gigahashes per seconds approximately 60% of our total average hashrate. combined with a fluctuation in miner interest and a shitty difficulty targeting algo (kgw), there will be some sporadic periods of block finding delays until we switch to AuxPoW. Just to get an idea of the size of this mining pool, a Zues ASIC Miner is 300Mh/s and the Viper Litecoin ASIC Miner is 50 Mh/s so this mining pool is equlivant to about 20-100 ASICs, 158Gh/s is equivalent to the total LiteCoin hashrate, which would bring our difficulty orders of magnitudes higher than it is now. Nobody would spend that kind of hashrate on us with malicious intent when they could fork us without wasting hundreds of millions. *EDIT* 158Gh/s is equivalent to 17% of the total LiteCoin hashrate but still more then $5,000,000USD

Yes, when the value of a coin doubles in a week, you can expect quite a bit of mining interest. If there were an attack, we'd all know it, without a doubt by now, I think. The increased mining interest would possibly indicate that our beloved troll's efforts have failed.... miserably.

Nobody would spend that kind of hashrate on us with malicious intent when they could fork us without wasting hundreds of millions. If this is not malicious, then who have the power to mine ANC with 500x Zeus ASIC Miner 300Mh/s (total value: 799.500,00$ to mine ANC ): https://zeusminer.com/product/zeusminer-volcano-300mhs1000wscrypt-asic-miner/And they are in pre-order only!Well i'm not sure how to respond to that other then by saying, 1) Currently our MarketCap is $ 707,647 so its kind of stupid 2)Those Miners are in --> PREORDER <-- ie not yet released 3)We are switching to AuxPoW 4) Once ZC testnet goes live hashrate will go up my at least a factor of ten 5) All those miners are not being sold to one entity and will inevitably increase the average hashrate of all coins not just ANC but other than that, ya i guess were about as screwed as every other scrypt coin ATM

There is no doubt that we suffer a very well organized attack from certainly a big organization or state. Check the difficulty chart: http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency/coins/anoncoinThe difficulty increase is a little more than 90% A big Organization of state that wanted to attack us could 51% the chain with 6Gh/s, so no its not an attack.

On the dot. lack of dev response is rather baffling.
Is the homepage and wiki being down for one whole day just a coincidence?
The network hashrate is CONSTANT at 158.37Gh /s for quite some time now. this is freaky because it should continuously hem and haw in my imo.

It looks like it may take up to a week to crack this block if the miners get unlucky. Maybe we will get lucky and break it in less than 24 hours. Is this the largest mining pool? http://anc.cryptotroll.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=poolThis pool will find a block every 131 hours at current difficulty and hashrate. Someone claimed that we are moving to auxpow or a different retargeting algo - is this something that is already in the code or just something the devs have talked about. If it is already in the code, what block do the changes take effect?
