On the dot. lack of dev response is rather baffling.
Is the homepage and wiki being down for one whole day just a coincidence?
The network hashrate is CONSTANT at 158.37Gh /s for quite some time now. this is freaky because it should continuously hem and haw in my imo.
*sigh* thats only hashrate for the last found block.

*sigh* thats only hashrate for the last found block. +1 It is impossible to know the current hashrate for the network, the best you can do is to try to add up the hashrate of the known pools. It is of course very low though or else we would have found a block recently.

It looks like it may take up to a week to crack this block if the miners get unlucky. Maybe we will get lucky and break it in less than 24 hours. Is this the largest mining pool? http://anc.cryptotroll.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=poolThis pool will find a block every 131 hours at current difficulty and hashrate. Someone claimed that we are moving to auxpow or a different retargeting algo - is this something that is already in the code or just something the devs have just talked about. If it is already in the code, what block do the changes take effect? Meeh is actively working on implementing it. AuxPoW will be included in the next hardfork the same time as the ZC mainnet. Also meeh has pasted a sample of a KGW replacement so thats going to be included for sure as well

Would have been nice if this had been changed earlier but at least it's on their radar.

The funny thing is that this might actually help the price because it stems the flow of ANC being dumped by the multipools. Also if you have some scrypt hashing power you could help unstick us if you point it to an ANC pool.

Whats the difference between zerocash and zerocoin? As far as im aware SDC is in the process of implementing zerocash into their anon system.
Zerocash is not yet fully developed - Miers and Green are not done with the code as far as I know, they wanted to release the Coin this time around, but who knows, nobody knows anything about it, so any Coin who says they implement Zerocash is basically ... lying. Zerocoin will be implemented by the Anoncoin Devs, (with RSA UFOs, the original idea was without them), we dont know of any particular Coin with a real approach to implement it, at least nobody is doing the coding correctly (mostly they add the "ZC" branch to their source and that's it) Here in Anoncoin the Devs are really working on it (see source) The technical differences between Zerocoin and Zerocash are in the wiki ... please read about it here https://wiki.anoncoin.net/Anoncoin_WikiFurther proof that you know nothing about Zerocoin/cash. RSA UFO idea is from the original zerocoin whitepaper: http://spar.isi.jhu.edu/~mgreen/ZerocoinOakland.pdfIan Miers and his team abandoned Zerocoin to do an improved project called Zerocash. Zerocash improves on an earlier protocol, Zerocoin, developed by some of the same authors, both in functionality (Zerocoin only hides a payment's origin, but not its destination or amount) and in efficiency (Zerocash transactions are less than 1KB and take less than 6ms to verify).and they will do that in a REAL trustless manner:In contrast to Bitcoin's transactions, payment transactions using the Zerocash protocol do not contain any public information about the payment's origin, destination, or amount; instead, the correctness of the transaction is demonstrated via the use of a zero-knowledge proof.Source: http://zerocash-project.org/If only they could generate the initial parameters in a trustless manner. NOBODY who cares about privacy is going to use a coin created by academic researcher funded by the US Department of defense in a system where TRUST must be given to the devs to throw away the master key. That is why zerocoin is superior. Yes there will be bloat issues, Yes the transactions are slower. But at least we will have trustless anonymity with RSA UFOs used to generate the initial parameters. All of zerocash's advantages are for nothing if the gov't has a private key that unlocks all anonymity and enables unlimited minting of coins. Well put. One minor correction though: an attacker with the master key cannot de-anonymize everyone (apart from software backdoors or flaws), but IMO, having such an attacker be able to erase a currency's value whenever they want is bad enough to avoid using Zerocash.

Hello everyone, here is an infographics about anonymity in the blockchain that I intend to finish and publish on reddit on october 6, maybe sooner. The text is coming from the anoncoin wiki, but the title and inter-titles are from me. There might be typos and bad grammer in them. There will be a second part about IP addresses, and I2P. Feel free to criticize, it's almost finished but still a draft. I'll work again on some of the visuals maybe, especially the "mixing coins" part wich I'm not too sure of, and maybe the colors are too flashy... I'll see that in the next days. Leave your comments so that I can make changes if needed. Also the last part about choosing/testing UFO may not be so accurate these days ? Tell me... Here it is (imgur is not happy with Tor): https://img.bi/#/fPHZrnA!0ZcYZivXHJp9Tbm9i298cuKJQb1qRO02ZYvPW933This looks very polished and professional, thanks! As for the content, I think our primary use case for Zerocoin will be to move money between one user's various identities (clearnet, darknet long-term, multiple darknet short-term, etc.), rather than sending and receiving money from others. I'd like to emphasize graphically that the Zerocoins are "between" identities (where identities are a cluster of Anoncoin addresses linked to each other).

As I promised two weeks ago, here is an estimate for completion of Zerocoin-in-Anoncoin that I feel has a very high chance of being met (a "hard deadline"). By October 15, I'll have Zerocoin integration in "alpha" state, and on a testnet for anybody to try. By November 1, I'll have Zerocoin in mainnet, which means you can use the ANC you have now to mint and spend zerocoins. It will still be in "beta", meaning you should pay attention to our website, IRC, and our bitcointalk.org thread for security updates to the wallet and anoncoind; this is especially important if you are a miner or running a relay node. I realized that I have made deadlines in the past that were not met. I put a lot of thought into the above deadlines and I know that they can be met. Just as a reminder, I'm working full-time on Zerocoin until at least October 1, and possibly after depending on funding. Other upcoming dates:September 15: the RSA UFO project ends, participants are rewarded, and the server source is released to our Github. September 17: the first Zerocoin commits get pushed to our Github (Anoncoin/anoncoin, "zc" branch). As I said before, the public Github will lag 2 weeks behind active development in our private repository; this is to make things more difficult for copycat coins. Previous updates:https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.msg8750399#msg8750399https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.msg8599297#msg8599297Gnosis how is development coming along? I've looked at the code but it's hard for me to judge - do you think you are on track to meet the Oct 15th goal? I'm still on track.

If an attacker broke the keys, he will be able to create infinite ANC from nothing. In your opinion, this not a problem, R-E-A-L-L-Y?
Technically not infinite right? There are 3.1 million coins total, an attacker would only be able to steal up to the number of coins that are unredeemed zerocoins, right? So maybe a few hundred thousand at most. Still would probably kill the coin I guess.

So far rsa_ufo_attack has told us nothing we were not already aware of, but if he can contribute meaningfully to this thread then let's hear it.

While he is at it, I cannot wrap my head around this: There was/is an attack . Wiki link and website homepage was down too. Devs comments were not forthcoming. I too was a bit anxious. And now I see that ANC price marched upwards from .00014 BTC to .000150 BTC. How come?
