ok, I think I completed all of the steps properly. Here is the first post I completed using #devcoin. Should we use #devcoin on future articles as well or is this just for a beta test run?
On every posting of the devcoin account would be my suggestion. Also, you may like a branding idea of mine on steemit. It should work with our DVC Logo(s), as well. Just placing the image link at the bottom of the page with no other images in the post and it will create the thumbnail. https://steemit.com/@novacadianThought the red would burn in pathways. - Nova Hey Nova! I see you posted with the #devcoin tag, remember to complete the other steps in order to activate merged mining STEEM+DVC.

It may be worth compiling the DVC Wallet if you have a set fee per upvote. Most all my steem has been going into getting Powered Up. My understanding is that joining your merged mining that would be at the detriment of my account's powering up? - Nova [Edit: Better grammer]

My understanding is that joining your merged mining that would be at the detriment of my account's powering up? - Nova [Edit: Better grammer] When you Power Up you convert STEEM into VESTS, which then increase your STEEM Power (SP). Apart from that you have the Voting Power (VP), which decreases by 2% when you upvote. Your VP automatically recovers by 20% daily. This, along bandwidth, are measures to control SPAM and abuse of the blockchain. When you join the trail, you are allowing @devcoin to use your SP and to consume your VP and bandwidth. Yet, as said before, your account is ignored while your VP is below 80%.

How is Streemian working out for you? I've created and followed various Streemian trails and it's often been unreliable, so I am wondering about your experience so far.

Streemian is not reliable indeed, AFAIK the owner is busy with other stuff and has little time to maintain streemian. I'm not using streemian but a custom app for this integration of DVC+STEEM/SBD

It is still not clear to me how I should set up my Steemit account for this. The video posted earlier is a general (long) explanation of the Steemit board, not something describing what we want to do for Devcoin here.

I hear that Streemian is closing completely. That's probably going to put a damper in this Steemit project.

Can't hurt to try. If we need someone to take liability, then I'll pay whoever takes liability at least 10 litecoins, since devcoins currently don't have a defined value. I doubt that a clause for the developer to take full financial liability if there is a problem with the coin can actually be enforced, and I've never seen one used. However, it is a risk, and that's why whoever takes that risk should be paid for it.

I'm using a custom application that helps me save time, but I'm still reading each post prior to upvote and resteem with @devcoin. Other than curation, the most time consuming part is to gather the list of members, since such data is not indexed in the blockchain, it requires to monitor all transactions.

If you have a custom app that functions more or less like Streemian, then I would be very interested in possibly using it for my own purposes down the road. What I like about Streemian is the ability it provided for other Steemit users to follow a trail. So for example, if you followed my trail, you could automatically upvote everything I upvoted (posts and comments). So, does your tool do that? If so, I'm very interested in it

I sent another application to Livecoin to ask if they would be interested in listing devcoin. Their reply quick and short: 05.02.2018 22:36 "Hello Sorry, we can't take new coins right now." I opened a ticket with https://www.cryptopia.co.nz about listing devcoin on their exchange, so will see what they say. Fuzzybear I think it is just a general clause to try cover themselves should the blockchain fork they want no responsibility for funds lost through a fork or network going wrong. The actual wording for who can submit a coin is open ended: "If you are a developer or official representative of cryptocurrency asset, you can add this asset to Livecoin." So a non developer can submit the application and thus the last clause is invalid? I feel it is more them saying if u submit a coin and it is not updated to avoid security issues or forks and the exchange looses funds then you are responsible for not informing the exchange to update the code or providing the updated code with security patches applied as and when... they want to cover themselves listing any coins that are just going to be under developed and left potentially leaving security risks on their serveres running the exchanges etc... Anyway I sent them in an application and got this as a reply: 04.12.2017 09:44 Hello. Unfortunately, this year we no longer accept new assets. ...so maybe try in the new year? or should we look around for other possible listings? Fuzzybear Thanks FuzzyBear for the information. I see only one tough problem with what they ask: .. In case of losing clients' funds due to forks or technical / security issues with block chain or node, you as developer will bear financial responsibility.
This is open ended, and could wipe out anyone. It is unreasonable, and I don't think any developer has ever given out money if there was a problem in their code. Is that language in the application for other exchanges?
