I just hope we never see a block like one I recall from sometime around October.  I think it was BitMinter's 18th block or somewhere in that range.  It took over 9 days and the CDF was 99.7% or 99.8%, if I recall correctly.  We only had ~30 GH/s at the time, though.

I doubt anybody cares, but I just have to correct myself now that I can see that far back in history.  It was BitMinter's 30th block on October 5th.  With a CDF of 97.5%, it took 9d 18h 19m.  I guess that's how it goes when the pool's hashing power is only ~31 GH/s.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

9-16 days for a block. The good old days. Err, wait...

Kudos DrHaribo, very nice gui for your miner!

Thanks, glad you like it Smiley

recent snow storm/power failure gave me an excuse to try something new, and your miner took my cards from about 460 to roughly 580 mhps, in just a couple clicks of the mouse.

Sweet. Smiley I don't have a 7970 to test it myself, but I've gotten a few reports that it runs very fast on them.

Live stats page is nice and all, but you need to exclude the namecoin from the "Latest Blocks" section, it's depressing when it's all NC and no BTC  Angry

Yeah, I will probably do the same thing as I did with the block list, only show BTC as default.

Just a note for any other 7970 users:
I tried out the tweak feature and I seem to be getting the best results with worker size at 256 and manual vectors off, the other settings I've left as is.

*edit* using bitminter client v1.1.2

AFAIK there is a single post in the cgminer thread and that is it.  Luke code is available in cgminer github.

Cool, looks like a simple serial port design. Do the other bitcoin FPGA solutions work in a similar fashion, anyone know?

Would be a little hard to add support for this without an actual device to test on. But it looks simple enough that I could give it a try if someone has a device to test my beta versions on. Anyone get a BFL single yet?

Btw, you can abort work, but then it won't report good nonces found during that round?

I've got one. Just got it yesterday and don't have enough know how to get it running.
You wait 12 weeks to finally get it to have to wait a few more days. Kind of annoying, but that's simply because i don't know how.
What can I do to help getting these little guys running on bitminter?

I hope to use two mini-rigs at the supposed ~50GH/s with BitMinter whenever I happen to get them (BFL says end of June).

Hehe  Cheesy

Yeah, use cgminer for now for BFL devices. I will see about getting BFL support in my miner soon.

I hope to use two mini-rigs at the supposed ~50GH/s with BitMinter whenever I happen to get them (BFL says end of June).

That will be awesome. Smiley We should be able to attain a quite decent hash rate!

This is probably my favorite mining pool.

Thanks for your support, guys. It is very much appreciated. Smiley

Are we still connected to the BTC/NMC networks or do we run the shifts just for fun?  Wink

Its just bad luck. 10M share rounds are a (statistical) fact of live. Its gonna happen sooner or later.
Lets hope it gets followed by a few short blocks.

Dave has slain the dragon! All hail Dave! Smiley

I paid out a 2 BTC bonus for that. That block was really bad. Need to think about an automatic and more permanent bonus system for blocks.

I think some pools reserve a percentage of the income for the person who created the block.

Another option is a new donation cause ('Minting bonus' or something like that?). The payout for each block could be whatever is in the donation box at the time. Or it could be CDF percent of the donations. So if you get an easy 10% block, you get 10% of the current donations. For a block like today 99.9% of the available donated funds.
