As time passes and we have more posts in the forum, we need more merits. That's why we have merit sources in the forum.
I have been hearing this argument for years now. nothing changed. Bad actors using system to get merits, however, true crypto believers are weeded out of the system. Soon this forum will be left with only scammers and they have motivation to increase merits to earn from this portal via bounties.
What the fuck is crypto? I thought that this was bitcointalk?
If you cannot bring yourself around to use the word "bitcoin" then maybe you, yourself, are having troubles understanding some of the merit distribution dynamics of the forum or to identify the extent to which merits might be being effective in terms of achieving forum preferences... .or even understanding why bitcoin remains king daddy.
Seems pretty straight forward - all Bitcoin is crypto, but not crypto is Bitcoin...
Hm? Perhaps you are having similar difficulties as fonship. Hopefully, you have not gotten too distracted into shitcoins during your tenure in "crypto" that is if you have forgotten, or maybe you never had been able to grasp distinguishing aspects of bitcoin? Maybe?
I did a quick glance at your post history, and it looks like you may be having some troubles understanding what is bitcoin, or maybe you are just too busy pumping other crap that you believe that it is in your interest to suggest that bitcoin has defects that can be improved upon and your shitcoin can serve such purpose, no? Where have I heard that before?
By the way, does it help to get better attention to your ideas if you
increase the fontsize and type in bold? Maybe I should test it out, even though it might end up causing some of my posts to get deleted.. or maybe I will have to receive some other kinds of punishment. That's ok. As long as I get
more attention... overall.
From a quick glance at some of your posting history, it looks like you have a bit of a habit of bolding and increasing your font size.. Must mean that your ideas are
MOAR better, no?
Most of the Bitcoin OG's weren't arrogant or inflexible,
Huh? Someone here is not sufficiently flexible? And, arrogant too?
if we were there would be no Bitcoin today.
Hopefully, you are not getting the dog and the tail mixed up, because the tail does not wag the lil doggie, it's the other way around, if you had not noticed. Oh no, you are too busy thinking about some shitcoin that you want to pump, perhaps?
No need to be mean...
Huh? Someone here is a meanie, on the interwebs? That's not right.
Merit though is kinda cool though, and definitely decays, thats what happens when you go AWOL for few years

I never heard of a merit decay policy that had actually been implemented in this forum. Sure merit decay has been mentioned by theymos, but I had not reallized that any such merit decay policy had been implemented, except for merit sources, but not regular merits. Maybe you are referring to something else? Not merit decay?
Well if you looked at my history, maybe you noticed that I've been around since well before you, and this is not even my oldest account
Oh Gawd, and you are going to try to pull rank... You are likely even more pathetic than I had previously considered as a likelihood.
I love watching johnny-come-lately Bitcoin fanatics look down at the world. Glad most of you weren't around when it was starting, otherwise it would have never gotten off the ground.
I have been thinking about whether I would have gotten into bitcoin earlier if I had known more about it. So, sure, in my case, I started to get into bitcoin in late 2013 and established my investment and involvement plan at that time.
For me, it seems quite likely that I needed to have a certain amount of confidence to be able to get in and to get out before I was ready to invest time and money into it, but even though I had heard about the name bitcoin, I had no fucking clue about what it was until November 2013 and it had just been on my list of things to look into since about October 2013... but anyhow, once I looked into it, it did not take much time to convince me to at least get started, and maybe I could have been convinced earlier in 2013, but I might NOT have been so likely to have been convinced prior to 2013.. just my tentative speculation about the topic and knowing my own situation and my largely conservative (capital preservation approach) sufficiently to speculate in that direction.
Regarding your smug baloney regarding bitcoin not getting off the ground absent some purportedly innovative persons like yourself, I hardly know enough about you, besides your acting like a smug asshole, to appreciate the extent to which you or your actions might have been helpful to bitcoin, as a phenomenon.. Did you know satoshi, too?
Bitcoin has flaws, and people who have meaningful amounts are aware of them. I got enough Bitcoin in the old days, and I left, I came back YEARS LATER to address the problems, since this was the place where it all started.
One of those lame ass stories that seem to be aimed at pumping some kind of bitcoin 2.0 crap, rather than working on bitcoin itself. I see. I am glad that we have you coming back to help bitcoin to fix itself through your pumpening of some shitcoin.
Interesting to see what flourished here in my absence. Bitcoin has its place but its being mutated into something that it wasnt meant to be by people who arent even holding much of it
Are you referring to segregated witness, or some supposed development control, or some other bitcoin mutation? Difficult to consider how bitcoin is in any kind of worse position, especially given the resolution of some of the battles in 2017.
But maybe you need to be more specific in terms of your discussion of the mutation, the timeline and what supposed problems have come to bitcoin. Your assessment of bitcoin's purported deterioration is not coming off as very convincing, so far.
Other cryptos come to address either real or perceived needs, evolution and free market kills those whose needs are not real.
Sure, there are a lot of pumping of shit projects, and sure it is likely going to take a while before people are able to sort through some of these matters to sort the wheat from the chaff.
I am glad
my fOnt SizIng HaD an Effect, after all, there was a reason for it.
Thank you being here.

Yes, you likely enjoy attention, but I doubt that changing font size and consistently trying to shout your post contents helps your cause as much as you conjecture that it does, and may well end up getting you in trouble (if it has not already from forum admins) or NOT receiving merits for any of those newer members who might be following this thread because they are seriously considering ways that their posts might be considered more worthy by members with smerits to send them smerits.
So getting back to my original point, you might not receive as many smerits if you are posting about shitcoins than if you were trying to focus (or at least understand bitcoin), and you also might not receive very many smerits if you are shouting in your posting style.. and seeming to either just want to get attention or considering yourself to be superior to other forum members based on when you registered your account or even some vague talents that you hold yourself out as having without really being helpful to members in other ways to attempt to clarify your ideas, even if they might be somewhat valid criticisms of bitcoin, its history and/or its direction. If you come off as some lame shitcoin pumper who criticizes bitcoin in order to pump your project, then that would NOT seem to be as likely to inspire members who have smerits to send them in your direction, in my current thinking.
