Hi all!
@ ROB I've had a long at the # of CPU miners today and compared it with BOINC stats. Even though we have ~700 CPU miners, there are only 314 hosts doing work for team Gridcoin, I guess it will be similar with GPU miners. So basically the stats available at BOINC stats do show approximately 1/2 of the work we as a community really do, that's not good.
I would suggest adding a feature that would be checking if a miner is in team Gridcoin and actually enforce it. I think it is important to keep track of the work that we're doing for BOINC.
What do you think?
Andrew.
Yes, I'm all for a bigger team but also all for freedom; so if we can detect that a user is not in the pool and suggest they add themselves to the team that would be cool. I have a project that Im working that sends all the boinc CPID's to the network, and I believe we can query the user team by CPID. I think baby step #1 (for me to do), will be listing the GRC address, CPID, and Team in the Pool Leaderboard. Then we can at least see users who aren't in the team from the web UI. Ill add that to my list. Grid

Hmmm, in that case Rob should edit OP to reflect the correct number of total coins because for right now it says "~168 million"
I modified it, however it might go down to somewhere between 168 million and 300 million after our pools go live, since cpuminers will have to hash using minerd (cpuminer-scrypt). That should be a boon for our exchange value. Grid

I think cgminer should be completely removed from the gridcoin package, to be completely honest. Chrome does not allow me to download the wallet for Gridcoin or any of the files on their website. http://www.gridcoin.us/Can some one share a download link that isn't completely blocked by Google? I agree with you now. I'll add this to my list. The issue is , I can't remove it until I add a feature to the mining config screen that allows the user to push a button and download cgminer_base64.zip from the server. It can ask a question to verify, and once that works, I will remove cgminer from our builds completely! Thanks for the suggestion. Grid

I have a question. Lets say GRC takes off to 10+$ . What is stopping somebody from ,lets say malariacontrol institute to manipulate the credits for someone to easily mine GRC? Dont they have a power to just easily print money that way?
Good concern but it's solved through a couple of mechanisms- 1) Our leaderboard factor dynamically changes when someone starts racking up huge amounts of credits on one project. A good example of this is when a project releases a Radeon boinc project; such as primegrid and milkyway. Factor goes down, making it harder to earn grc. 2) The users will compete for the grc if they discover an easy project. 3) The new system coming out will make the 3rd party credit checking more robust (its working good already, but the new system is more efficient).

Hey guys, I sent an email to MintPal (a new exchange) this afternoon, and was able to get them to add Gridcoin to voting. Vote here: https://www.mintpal.com/votingAs a registered user, you can vote 6 times/hour. THey are also accepting 0.00005 BTC per/vote if you want to place additional votes that way. I haven't traded on this site yet, but it seems like it runs pretty smoothly. Thanks man, I just voted my max.

WOW that is a record for sure. I have a feeling as more and more people realize how important distributed computing and Gridcoin really are, we are gonna see huge increases in daily credits. Andrew.
I've been monitoring this chart: http://boincstats.com/en/stats/-1/team/detail/118094994/chartsI've been monitoring the world position and we are very close to being #99 in the world. I'm hoping we can eventually be in the top 50! Grid

Hey guys i want to invest a lot in this coin. 1 question though. Is the price right now on https://c-cex.com/index.html?p=grc-btc relevant to mining costs or is it just a random $ value right now? If i buy the entire coins on this exchange will more miners bring down the cost? As TribalBob said, when more miners jump on and our diff rises to 50, the price will go up dramatically. So IMHO, I would buy now at .03c and hold. Personally I'm not selling anything til we have a 10 mil+ market cap.

Very nice, but the team entry still carries a U.S. flag. Dev said it had been changed to international. Never too late to actually do it. Sorry; I don't know what happened; I did change it to intl; let me try again. I have it on my ToDo list again. Grid

I figured out you can only edit the user record who started the team to Intl and cant edit the Team Country from the UI. I e-mailed David Anderson from Berkeley. Grid

From my experience, more like 3-6 blocks a day, depending on the diff. Maybe 1 block per day, so around 150. how many GRC/day do you think i'd be getting with 1.2Mh?
Price is still too high and will continue to drop till 0.00002 BTC per GRC I think. Rationale: It is still very profitable to mine. I am mining approx 1000 coins per day with my 2 MH setup and sold it today for 0.04 BTC. If i mine litecoin or dogecoin i only get around 0.015 BTC (mining litecoins) or 0.02 BTC (mining dogecoins). uhm....this because you are not a little miner. I, with 600kh/s, found only 0-3 blocks for day

That sounds great, I just added my vote on your thread. The logo for the exchange with the guy in the chair with the laptop is pretty cool!
