ok ok...are you now talking about those phasers to kill badass aliens or about the "java code" thing?? Ah! Good old C-f-B loves to mix jokes with important issues It's about Java code. Phaser splits processing of transactions into phases. Sorry, I'm not a native English speaking person, so I just added "er" to "phase".

Is phaser based on the account control functions or it is a completely different animal?

As long as we keep the Klingons off the starboard bow. (cue Trekkie flipping out because I am mixing references from two different series )

Yes understood. With that being said, we need to encourage devs to help CIYAM on those projects as well as allocate an unclaimed Nxt bounty for the completions of these projects to CIYAM. The dev committee needs to address this please.
Also - one forum member has stated he is working on translating my C++ prototype into Java (although he hasn't signed up to CIYAM or placed a "dib"). I think that the committee will need to work out *how* they want to approach the issue of funding tasks (whether it be by CIYAM Open or by a more traditional "contract"). JL has expressed concerns about this also (in terms of potential *legal* problems). +1, Dev Committee needs to get on this. I don't think CIYAM Open will be an option until we can fund with unclaimed Nxt. Do you have an option for funding with Nxt?

Dev/infra/porn-committee should *ensure* that CIYAM *stays* with Nxt (not only as a consultant) and get some *help* by capable programmers. Phaser includes Account Control.
Either CfB doesn't understand the english language or Phaser includes Account Control

I would like for us to try and come up with a "NXT Mission Statement".
I actually think this is a fruitless exercise. A mission statement is only as good as the community/group that buys into it and lives by it. I'm a very pragmatic fella (and one hell of a socialist) but I don't think "mission statements" and "decentralized communities" mix very well. You may very well be able to arrive at the most fantastic mission statement for Nxt imaginable, but you can never force anyone to adhere to it.

I'm all for promotion, but let's focus on facts, shall we? The PoS forging mechanism is lightweight, but issues of bandwidth and disk space must also be considered. Running a node means having a copy of the blockchain. Many devices do not have enough local storage to allow this. What this guy recently learned is wrong; Nxt is not Turing-complete. Nxt AT is planned to be Turing-complete, but it is a layer on top of Nxt.

but it is a layer on top of Nxt.
Didn't know that. Thought it would get implemented once it works.

For your leisure time- A book called "Computing with Quantum Cats" by John Gribbin. Starts with Turing and goes all the way to the latest developments in Quantum Computing. Written with the lay person in mind. Interesting and enjoyable read.

You are KIDDING me. BCNext intentionally designed Nxt without scripts and predicates, and now we're adding Turing-completeness to the Nxt core?
