Hi Metazilla,

..
Sorry to call people out, I'm just curious if this sort of thing is allowed? Or if there is anyone who checks to make sure what people are contributing is actually their original work? (I spent a lot of time writing the articles I've contributed, so it kind of sucks to see people submit huge articles that they probably didn't write to try and get some extra coins.  Embarrassed)

Edit: Another article that is copied legal text: http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=legal_article_regarding_research_chemicals

It seems that things like this may be able to fall under collated work, if the users actually did any editing of the original source material, rather than just copy/pasting it, but that they are putting this on their user pages under "Original", even if they are attributing a source, it still looks like they are trying to cheat the system to me.

Thanks for bringing this up. This sort of thing is not allowed. When someone first posts an article, I check for plagiarism, however, I used to assume that people wouldn't plagiarize, so I didn't check carefully. I contacted the author of:
http://devtome.com/doku.php?id=legal_article_regarding_research_chemicals

and WildElf, asking them to remove plagiarized articles. If any of the authors do not remove plagiarized articles, they'll be dropped from devtome.

I really appreciate that you caught this. I should of noticed it, but didn't because I was busy. I can't really send you the informative post bounty:
http://www.devtome.com/doku.php?id=devcoin_bounty#post

because you're already getting a lot of shares this round, so I sent you a million of my own coins.

Hi Unthinkingbit,

I have setup the forum now and its available for testing.

http://www.devcointalk.org/

At the moment anyone can register and post. I tried changing this to fulfill the bounty but I had trouble with the SMF settings.
Maybe its better to keep it open and people can make donations.

Next I will install mediawiki and the bridge for SMF.

Please note this is still under development. I hope to be assigning moderator and even admin access to those helping with the devcoin project soon.

Please note that people are able to earn devcoins for work on Rejuvepedia especially project "in utero" which will eventually allow humans to be completely rejuvenated by spending 9 months in a tissue engineered womb and to "breathe" and be fed nutrients, stem cells and so on through a tissue engineered placenta. We need people to do some exploration of concept artwork for this like a rendered 3d animation.

My Devcoin address:

19piwg8kyW5unDpLjYjbvE6GGvtAfghT8c

What happened to this?

If everyone is thinking outside the box, there is a new box.

Read on a bit.  caston soon there after realized they did not agree with the percentages that went for donation compared to miners and decided they were not as interested in devcoins as they had originally thought.

I would like to request a bounty be discussed for a text populating wizard/flow that can be used as a standardized generator for security prospectus so more devcoin based securities can be issued on cryptostocks or other sites.

I would also like to see more devcoin investment opportunities on cryptostocks and such sites, am tempted to set up my own if i ever got a good idea and enough devcoins to start one, as it is i feel I am about to snap up a couple of thousand shares in the DVB listing... so buy them b4 I do... think there not many cheap ones left.

I just took a look.  Seems there are only two DVC based stocks right now?   I can agree with wanting to see more.  The 1 million coin price to create something may be a bit steep though.

Thats actually pretty cheap, most of the securities cost far more than 1mil devcoins worth of btc.

I didn't. I'm going to be including Devcoin discussions in my thread. I have been waiting for YouTube to fund it, but Devcoin seems like it will be doing the funding Smiley So it'll be up in the next month or two.

Depends on what you compare it to.   If you are not getting generated shares, but only mining shares that is a lot
of mining.   However since no services are listed besides creating the security, and they also get a trading fee, I am not going to agree that is cheap for an entry in a database.   As for the securities, they  seem priced at 213 and 750.  It is going to take an awful lot of trading before a small percentage of those amount recover 1million.

in turn get a fee on any purchase of shares

Hello... could someone please explain to me exactly how the generation and generation share system works in a good amount of depth? I have the basic idea but don't feel like I understand it completely. A few things are:
1. When does the generation happen?
2. What exactly IS the generation/what does it do?

Thanks,
Termhn

89000 Blocks is when the script runs, it runs over everything you've written and you get 1 share per 1,000 words.

I have a question.

I know the script runs at 89000, and we don't get paid for this round until something like 95000-99000... But I am wondering if the number of shares will be announced between then and then? And the value of shares.

I'm running one of the 2 as a way to help start regular buying of DVC (its kind of slow boating right now until pyramining rolls out its asic implementation but we should get first dividends soon and given the current exchange rate the dvc return should be pretty nice and if pyramining projections are accurate then we should/could see 50+ btc buys of dvc through the fund every few months or so)

Long story short for the effort that kumala/cryptostocks/vircurex staff put into making cryptostocks a premier crowd funding platform the dvc cost was very worth it to list there.  I hope he/they are getting reward shares for it.

When I listed my fund I wanted to limit block chain bloat so I kept share price higher with reduced total shares to come up with a total btc price equal to the amount of btc necessary pre-asic to see 1 btc payouts on a daily basis giving investors the opportunity to earn their share of greater than 1 btc weekly returned in dividends... not sure how basics will change that but well see soon :-)
