why is the latest pennies qt download so HUGE??  i see qt files 176MB?  has the download been sabotaged and this is stuffed with trojans and viruses?

Apparently there were 2 large DLL files that were added, the dev wasn't able to compile the client without them.  (he mentioned it in a post somewhere)

Its been this way for a week (maybe a little over a week) and so far i haven't seen or heard of anyone reporting bad things happening.

If it was something malicious, im not sure what the point would be, Stealing all the coins when the market doesnt have the buy orders from them seems a little self defeating from the new Devs point of view :-)

Thanks for the info.

Well, i wasn't so worried about getting my cents taken. I would be far more worried about what other havoc it could wreak on my machine.

thats a very good point lol >.< luckily i print out all my private keys and stable them to the back of a hamster and then release it into the garden each night! that'll keep em safe :-)

If you are going to use my security method you need to make sure you have a compatible processor to get the keys back in to the machine

The 10.2 and 10.1 wallets don't work. As soon as I get a connection it crashes. The 0.10 wallet works, but won't fully synchronize.
debug.log from the 10.2 crashing: http://pastebin.com/hgpjP9wf#

Any ideas?

Any ideas?

What is line 1027 about?

Also what helps me sync is to lock the wallet, this will disable staking until you use the console with the following to unlock it --walletpassphrase <passphrase> <timeout> [mintonly]

e.g.

walletpassphrase "passphrase" "60000"(time in seconds) "true or false" (toggle)
for mintonly it means minting stake blocks, also allows ability to send without putting passphrase(wallet is unlocked).

So can somebody find what block chain cryptsy is at?
I have my wallet set up to use node.cryptsy.com and everything seems to be working fine for me.
I have sent 10000000 from Cryptsy to my wallet (99999999 at a time).
Also sent 99999999 back to Cryptsy without any problem.

I found out why the extra dlls were required, I somehow accidentally compiled the debug version, woops

I'm unsure if that's related to the issues people are having with it crashing when it gets connections as I have not had this issue.

I'm recompiling with some small changes and checkpoints as a release version, we'll see how that works out for you people having issues

Question to the chinese people: Can you access mediafire? I can upload the new wallet there as well.

Accidentally? Have you seen the file names during upload?

QtCore4.dll and QtCore4d.dll

You forgot to strip files, its huge) looks like debug mode.

Yes, accidentally, i forgot to specify the makefile so it defaulted to debug. All i knew is that it wouldn't launch without those files, i didn't know why. I don't compile on windows often so I'm not really familiar with it.

Also, I completely missed that comment, there's a lot of stuff to read through on here. Probably woulda helped if I noticed that earlier.

how do you set it up to do so?
just put addnode=node.crypsy.com to your pennies.conf file while deleting all other nodes
then delete all files except wallet.dat and pennies.conf and redownload the blockchain

Pennies v0.10.2.1-abe released!
Download (Alt)

Changes:
 - Properly built as release instead of debug (doesn't need those ridiculously large files anymore)
 - New checkpoints
 - Minor splash screen modification (now you can read the bright yellow text at the bottom)
 - Released on MediaFire as well for those who can't access google (hopefully you can access this, I have no idea)

Let me know if this fixes your crashes for those who had that problem when it tries to connect. Don't forget to try wiping the blockchain first.
