Ok, so I'm trying to use the -s0.01 flag, and it's telling me that there's no such command.. I've got a 4870x2 runnin here.. and have the latest catalyst which includes opencl.  I can mine all I want, but my problem is that it runs too hot.

when I try -s in guiminer, it just says that 'Listener for "card1" started' and it constantly says connecting.

What am I doing wrong? Cheesy

Does anyone know of a way to limit the videocard usage to like 50% or so in guiminer? I'd love to be active in this pool, but my 4870x2 just can't take the heat (seriously!).  With the fan at 100%, I'm very quickly reaching temps of 90-95C when mining with even just one gpu. I'd love to run both but it would undoubtedly destroy my card.

Yes. I've cleaned out the video card. I do so every two or three months anyhow, and I don't see temps higher than 55C playing games, and not usually higher than 50C at idle.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

You could also use AMD Overdrive to underclock the card.  Just drag the sliders the other way.

I find this way less fiddly, and still get about 204 Mhash/s out of my 5850 with GPU at 550 MHz and memory at 900 MHz

At least you can then just click Overdrive on or off, although it doesn't give you as much control as when using the -s flag.

Hello. You can ask for help in the threads of
GUIminer: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=3878.0
or
poclbm: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=1334.0

I think people there may know what to do.

I'm just wondering whether this is still normal and expected or if something else is going wrong? (Everything is back to normal right now, but this has been happening ever since the DDoS, and it's kinda annoying to see in my logs... Tongue)
Yes, it was me switching the server, less than a minute of downtime.
nitpicking: according to my logs, I got ~2-3mins, counting the 30s waits due to LP failure... Tongue

Seriously, though, I was just wondering about the 50x errors, since I don't remember seeing them when you switched servers before the DDoS. And so soon after the attack, this is the only downtime I've seen in my logs for over a day, so I'm definitely not complaining.

Tycho, wouls it be possible to add one stat to workers? Column with IP of worker (last known IP from which worker sent share). My internet sometimes stuck, to remoterestart I need to type current IP, but IP is changed every 24h. With that stat I would be able to remote access everything.

Fast fluctuating connect/disconnects on machines from 4 different locations. Server switch still going on or something else?

Keep up the good work Tycho.
edit: faster than I finish typing its resolved, repeats above line Smiley
