When I tried to pay out 0.03 bitcoins two hours ago it seemed like the transaction ended up in a black hole. It's in the log, it even has a transaction ID, but when I click it blockexplorer says the transaction doesn't exist.

edit: just arrived, probably had been queued up or something

It seems, the smaller the transaction amount, the lower priority it gets and thus the longer it takes to go out.  Usually, this is not an issue with Deepbit since it is large enough to roll in its own transactions to the block it is working on [so delay at most will be the time to the end of the round], but I suppose there are always exceptions.  I don't worry much about payout transactions if I know they have been queued [and with the instant payout pools, they all seem to queue immediately].

Have you used the "Instant payment" button on the website ? If yes, did a help page appeared after requesting payment ?

We had very bad luck after yesterday's difficulty increase, so the effect was combined.
Also some very long rounds were encountered - even two >2 hours blocks (our new record - 4.99M shares).

I hope it will get better now.

Hey guys, sooper noob here. I just got 2 5830s installed and running in the last few hours. I had my deepbit account for around 48 hours so far, but for the past 2 days it was running on my old 8800GT. Now thats gone & 2x 5830s are cranking away in its place. I switched from poblcm to phoenix\phat with phoenix rising 1.41. I got both cards configured, they are (relatively) ripping away at around 230Mhashes each.

I made a 2nd worker account on deepbit.net. It shows my hash rate around 500M/sec. BUT . .the weird thing is, for the last few hours, the "YOUR SHARE" in statistics says 0 for each block. Any idea why that would be?

Thanks, this is very exciting, I just want it to be counting towards something lol.

The good thing is that all pools are getting the same large blocks.  Good or bad luck is just a variance on top of that.  For all intents and purposes, the difficulty has been higher than the value cited, but that should mean there are some smaller blocks on the way (it seems they always seem to appear before a difficulty increase ... or my memory is selective Smiley ).

Stats table is delayed by one hour, don't forget to set your timezone and check the timestamps of those blocks.

Are your worker names blue of red on the account page ?

Aha much respect there Mr. Tycho . . now that you mention it, both workers are BLUE* = yayyy!

Now I understand correctly, since there is a big delay, it is showing the zero (jackshit) that I got for the 2 hours I was down installing the new cards.

Thank You Sir and best wishes for a good day.

Guys, this pool has hit 50% of the network's hashing power. Not that I'm saying Tycho is evil or anything, but I suggest you guys switch pools to protect Bitcoin's security.

I'll give you a reason at least. Just because you can program a pool doesn't mean you can lead it. Your words and actions clearly indicate you do NOT understand the implications of the situtation. All you want is short term, buddy.

[Tycho], any chance you will lower your hashing rate?
Or even better, make your fee go up as hashing rate increases, so we reach a nice equilibrium?

Nothing personal.

If I helped you in some way, and you feel obligated to do so, you can tip me some coin!

By the way I didnt mean i want my shares to go towards crashing bitcoin lol, gimmie a break. I just saw my new GPUs spinnin wheels and I didnt see the heat accumulating on my accout is all.

It's not like my hashing rate is rising, it's network block generation speed is low today which causes pie chart to look more scary than usual.

Create a good pool, make a better offer to bitcoin miners and they may switch. That's how competition works.
It's easy to make a pool with lower fee, there is even an open source pool software available. And that's not the only option.
Why not create more ? There will be a LOT of new miners soon.

Don't make me say my opinion on bitcoin security for the fourth time :)

Step 1: Find Tycho's house
Step 2: Incapacitate
Step 3: Create fake block chain
Step 4: False transactions
Step 5: Rich
Step 6: Collapse of Bitcoin forever

And nothing of value was lost.

Really bra? ITS NOT ABOUT COMPETITION ITS ABOUT TRUST.

T____R_____U_____S______T.

Not news to us that cattle follow the pack. Its news that you use that as your excuse (repeatedly) for opening up a can of worms unseen by most everyone....EXCEPT THE CREATOR OF BITCOIN.

Do you even understand what our concerns are? I haven't seen you comprehend them....once. Enlighten me, bra. Maybe I'm failing to see how you don't control so much of the network, and how you can't lose control of it...

If you have a Reddit account, and are not happy with how Tycho is handling this, please vote up my request that folks patronize other pools.
