so many silly newbies hating on tycho. deepbit is the best pool. that's all there is to it. if you don't like his share of the network, make a pool that's better then his. none of these complainers will though. some people take action and some just bitch. I cant wait for the bitcoin network to shake off the naive kids as the business oriented move in.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Please see https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses#Attacker_has_a_lot_of_computing_power if you don't understand why the current situation is dangerous. One person is frequently in control of the majority of the CPU power in the network. I know that Deepbit has all kinds of lovely features, but at current exchange rates he will be earning close to $1 million a year off your mining fees AND he has the ability to bend the rules of the system.

By continuing to vote for Tycho by giving him your CPU power, you are electing him the dictator of Bitcoin.

You point out that hes making a million a year like its a negative thing. I say rock on tycho, for proving the bitcoin network can make someone independently wealthy. That's the whole reason people are buying and selling bitcoins, other then the ones that smoke their profits...

here's what it boils down to. either the bitcoin network is self regulating, it works, and theres no need for all the "ZOMG 50%" crap or the bitcoin network isnt self regulating, and no amount of "ZOMG 50%" crap is going to save it from collapsing.

Tycho has done nothing but make a great damn pool and people are going out of their way to punish him for it.

It is a pool that charges you for service while other pools don't. How is that a "great damn pool?"

i'll pay for a pool that spends my money to stay stable in the face of the impending ramping up of DDos attacks against the network rather then be a part of a free pool that cant afford basic protection. obviously 50% of people agree with me Wink

What makes you think other pools can't afford "basic protection?" By the way, what exactly is "basic protection?"

[Tycho] should put his fees up higher and higher until all those people whaling on him for being good stfu.

He is under pricing his service so the network can grow fast and get away from possible outside attacks, if you don't trust [Tycho] then we are fucked.

Your signature indicates that you are hashing at around 6GH/s: you, -personally-, are paying him around $2500 a year.

so, how much am i paying him?  Cheesy
i hope for the luck to be returned to minus soon!
if i have to explain what "difficulty" really shows, i would say that when difficulty=500.000 then if you have a system with 500MH/s (for 24/7)
you would gain 1BTC/day, aproximately.
am i right?
