Stuhlman, can you explain why I cannot recreate the same account I had on NITRO1 because it reportedly correctly exists. Then I can login on NITRO2 with the same creds as on NITRO1, so far, so good. But whenever I start mining on NITRO2 everything appears on NITRO1. Any idea whyt could be the root cause?
Are accounts/workers attached to a pool by default and can't get out of it?
you only need to change port form 3337 to 4337 to start mining on nitro2 not sure. why would your results show on 1 unless your config did not save with that port. The two pools are not attached in any way. edit: if you post your config or email it to me I might be able to see why. You do not need to recreate account it's been done for you even the workers details are done. Like I said to start mining on Nitro2 only change 1 number port 3337 should change to 4337, can not get any easier.

Hello all,
When I started mining UTC the temp of the GPUs and the power consumption went much lower. Is this a "feature" or I did not configure something right. I have 141kh/s on each r9 280x. Can I get higher highrate or WU with this cards? I use the default config from the nitro pool site. The rig goes from 1100 W on litecoin to 800 on UTC and the temp goes from 72 to 60. /win 7 8gb ram/
Thanks
Power is same for me and has been from minute 1, temp is definitely lower though 99.9% of the power in watts put into a GPU are produced as heat. A change of temperature cannot occur without a corresponding drop in wattage. Having overvolted or overclocking can reduce the efficiency of gpu's, in terms of tflops/sec/watt. So, it is possible (if a card is heavily OC'd) to have a larger drop in heat with a smaller change in wattage; in this "lower efficiency band". However, there cannot be a change in temp (at a set clock, mem, volt, fan) without also changing wattage. The watt is the proverbial "egg" preceding the chicken. All I know is my P3 Kill-a-watt says my pc is pulling the exact same wattage from wall on UTC as any scrypt coin.. yet I run 7-8C cooler on UTC I have a tcm watt metter, the cards are 2x 280x toxic (on 1070 gpu 1500 mem 1087 v) and 2x 280x vapor (on 1050 gpu 1500 mem 1100 v). I use the same settings for other scrypt mining. The watt metter goes to 800 and the heat is less on UTC. If 141 overal KH/S is fine for those cards as I did not manage to get it higher, then this is a fine bonus feature. :-D

Even after all this time ultra.nitro.org still "suffers" from complete downtime every now and then ?
And I still wonder, why does everyone still mining there ?
From what I see Bumface's idea of migrating the miners to nitro2 didnt work.. so maybe instead of supporting only one pool operator that you like so much you should start taking care of the coin ??
A long term bounty for a different pool would be much more efficient than the idiotic trick you did while splitting nitro (when they actually use the same machine/network).

after my last attempt in trying to mobilize you guys failed badly (only 2 people actually took action and tweeted an utc request to moolah), i have less hope with this one here, but anyway: snapCard ( https://www.joinsnapcard.com/) - a bookmarklet service that lets you literally buy everything with bitcoin - is planning to expand their service to altcoins by april. they have a chat on their homepage.... so, what do we all want to know? go for it! [edit] I asked them about adding UTC and their answer came a few seconds later: "We're implementing some altcoins, but ultra coin would not be one of them. This is development in progress, but we're aiming for April on this... →okay, thanks for the prompt and honest answer " [/edit] narf.

"To qualify for this reward you must have had an account on Nitro prior to 3/1/2014 and must have mined at Nitro for more than a month."
I overlooked this part of the promo rules. I joined Nitro on 03/08. Looks like I dont need to move to Nitro 2. I'm going back to 1.

Stuhlman: there really isn't anything to promote your second pool other than moving veteran miners from nitro 1. Growth seems to have stalled. If you want new blood to join N2 versus them joining other pools, which new blood will also encourage vet's to switch, ya might have to sweeten the deal. Block finder reward, 0-1% fees. Payouts haven't decreased much since switching. Orphans are a smidge high, but it hasn't eaten into minings that much. This is why I suggest it, Stuhlman: "To qualify for this reward you must have had an account on Nitro prior to 3/1/2014 and must have mined at Nitro for more than a month."

I overlooked this part of the promo rules. I joined Nitro on 03/08. Looks like I dont need to move to Nitro 2. I'm going back to 1. After this promotion is over we will have another promotion for miners to move off of Nitro completely. But I really have too many things on my list to do today. Nitro2 is growing nicely as miners see the promo and move. Not all miners are on the same time zone. I also have to deal with the script kiddies again. After these two promotions are done we will adjust the fees. We are watching the P2P option closely, and will be happy to help with that as soon as the guys come up with a working solution. I said it before it was never our intention to gain this much hash on UTC Nitro and the devs did not give us any special treatment, in fact we were the only pool not listed on the announcement for the longest time. I said it before this will not be easy and it will be slow but it will work with some effort. once I have compiled the list for the first promotion, another promotion will be offered paid for by Nitro.

Come on guys, having an entire community fixated on a secondary issue (Nitro pool) for weeks is not a great way of focusing one's effort. Instead of bitching worrying over and over about Nitro, why don't you guys spend your time promoting UTC instead? I've said many times already how highlighting the asic-resistant virtue of UTC could help its popularity, mentioning KGN's 100 mhs 9,900 USDminer coming out in just 3-4 months, link here: https://www.kncminer.com/categories/litecoin-mining-hardwareand making the crypto community aware of just how real the asic miners "threat" is vs all scrypt coins, etc. etc. but nobody cares.

No, no, trying to be constructive, not bitching. Provided an example to show what's happening, that's all, in case Stuhlman wasn't aware. Since I know he has a plan now, I won't need to report my observations for a while.

Agree with you totally in the past few days we have deviated totally into this subject and that brings a negative aura. But to add to your point KNC announced the 100MH KNC Scrypt miner all the news are focusing on this, and we should be discussing this heavily as UTC is one of the few coins that is ASIC resistant right now and has an Honest Dev behind it. It's a shame that no one here is paying attention but the very few. I don't think Halo meant any harm by his post. But we really need to start pushing UTC into the side of coins like Vertcoin. Vertcoin was mentioned on every thread or news comment talking about KNC today. It should be a community effort today to bring UTC to the limelight as well.

Looks like I dont qualify for the 25utc bonus for switching from N1 to N2 in a matter of 1 day. Sad Panda . Just wanted to point out that N2 (in the 13 hours I mine there) makes more on average for me than N1, I dont know why, but I do know I'm not switching back. Cheers.
