Why wouldn`t they?

i honestly think they are hardcoded
or their only tech guy left them back in the day after the page was finished
they're still trading Quark coin and whatever else they traded 12 month ago
nothing changed there !!

So "a source at BNP Paribas told IBTimes UK the bank plans to add bitcoin to one of its currency funds".

Yeah, right.

I believe it when I see it. Can`t think of the legislation that would allow that, unless they buy those ETNs.

Or maybe some Cayman SPV, but no fund available for the public.

I don't understand how the entire Bitcoin community took this statement "We are looking at blockchain technology and how it can be applied to post trade processes to make things faster and potentially cheaper but it's all very much projects and it's all in testing" and then this "12 month contact would involve 'developing proof-of-concept in any language/protocols used in cryptocurrency protocols and blockchains 1.0-3.0'" to mean these people are buying a bunch of  Bitcoin for their fund. It sounds like they want to use it to settle changes in their funds that they used the traditional banking system to do before, which would involve holding Bitcoin for very short periods of time, then dumping it to get the target asset.

Edit: Actually, it seems they have no intention of buying Bitcoin directly:

I think the movement in BTC's price is more on the Gemini news than the BNP blockchain stuff.

MN payments should occur every 5 days now with current number of MN's so 8 days without payment does seem to be
on the high / unlucky side.

it could also be a private internal blockchain whose sole purpose is to process details of deals as they are executed for audit purposes.

It would also make life easier for the back end bookers as their role would much less stressful and more of a paper chasing exercise as deals would already have been recorded in a trusted way that couldn't be faked.

Smiley  You made me giggle!

There is nothing funny about any of this.

I will only respond to this because it really seems Peter Todd did in fact say these thing, not you. What Peter Todd should do, first and foremost, as should anyone in the entire planet... is to test the features and audit the code (if they can) for themselves. And judge first hand, not here say.

Simply spewing out comments like these through social networks is extremely unprofessional. Unsubstantiated claims are worthless. I'd like to see him point to the exact lines in the code that form his "opinion".

It is natural, when you're on the spotlight and heading the development of the biggest name in the financial revolution of natural history, and seeing the end of the road is near and utter potential disaster around the corner, and true competitors winning at their own game... that these sort of out-lashes occur.

It is very very sad indeed. Even if these claims had the slightest substance, in no way should he ever comment in these terms. It is a clear sign of fragility and fear by his part. He should at the very least choose his wordings in a more mature fashion, given his position.

Anyone is welcome to download our software and create a config file with "testnet=1" and get free testnet coins and test and try and experiment and see for themselves if Peter Todd's insults have any substance.

Sorry you don't have a sense of humor, or you'd be able to appreciate how lulzy your overhyped

Dash is becoming a behemoth crypto developing tech like wildfire.

assertion is.

Peter Todd is a professional cryptographer and computer scientist.

You are some random dude from the internet, apparently suffering from epic butthurt over a few tweets.   Cheesy

PT has no reason to "fear" Dash.  But he does have a duty to point out the fraud when he sees your cargo cult selling "snake oil,"1 "bad crypto,"2 and "bamboo runways."3

Citations:

1. Peter Todd calls dash snake oil.

2. Peter Todd calls dash "bad crypto."

3. Peter Todd calls dash's instant-x fake.

Peter Todd is a professional cryptographer and computer scientist.

...and not a monetary analyst which is why he can't tell a bookkeeping system apart from a new form of electronic base monetary media.

Maybe this is the cause of the bitcoin 'bump'...

Or maybe this:

On Friday (today), Greek authorities forbid Greeks to take out more than 2,000 euros ($2,200) or the equivalent in foreign currency (in cash) out of the country per trip.

Gold spiked too.

Unlikely to be related to scambay or poorpay.

Dow down on a trend of poor quarter earnings. Possibly some negative outlook hedging.
