Andddd, just as I start voicing a concern, we do a 6x increase in hashrate to >300 MH/s, the highest I've ever seen for DNotes.

Yes!

Looks like my being a worrywart was rather premature.

Hey! There's something we can maybe do?

Actually mining through the QT GUI is pretty much useless. That tab might as well not be there.

 a) it assumes that it can run minerd. Which is NOT included. So if nothing else, you need to know to go get it, where to put it

 b) it also assumes HTTP, even if you get minerd installed where it can find it. Meaning, it can't do stratum

 c) perhaps on CryptoMoms, or anywhere,
   - if you install minerd
   - and if you solo mine
   - you need to
     a) make sure config says server = 1
     b) make sure your router/firewall will allow you to connect to yourself on that port
otherwise solo mining option is completely useless as well

I may be missing something. But in all QT "wallets", you have this nice(ish) GUI. With this nice tab that says Mining, which as far as I can tell is crap. What if we made it actually useful? Actually work would be nice, but if nothing else, maybe better instructions of how to make it work?

Maybe the Easter holiday? Apparently Denmark gets like 6 days for it. I (in U.S.) forgot until I looked up Denmark holidays and realized, "hey, I know that holiday!" Smiley

Or, it may just be like going out for a smoke when you order food - they never bring your food until you're not there Smiley

Edit: plus, crap, I mean nice, but my 1/4 to 1/3 is now way off base. Still good to see of course Wink

The network hashrate has fallen by 75% of the past from days, from over 200 MH/s, to less than 50 MH/s

It's a little worrisome to me. My take is that the CryptoMoms release has created a lot of sellers from their giveaway coins, which has pushed down the price, causing DNotes to move down the rankings at coinwarz.com, which has moved miners away.

Idk, maybe dumb reasoning. But whatever the case, we need more miners. The strength of that network is the foundation for any PoW coin.

I vote we enjoy it! I've been mining since day 1 and these lulls in net hashrate are where I'll be able to make a killing from this investment. We have a developer who is committed to the long term potential of the coin and is using these giveaways as a means of proving that day in and day out. That makes NOTE a very speculative miner, which is contrary to what a lot of the big farms are looking for. They prefer to dump their currency at the end of each day, or at minimum the end of each week. This currency's shared stake concept goes a long way to prevent that mine and dump behavior (which is a good thing IMO). 50-100 net hashrate will have no problem facilitating normal functioning of the network though, so I say bring on the <1 difficulty mining for a while Cheesy

We will be fine we have a strong group and lots of great ideas and coals in the fire so to speak. I have a feeling we are going to be in the very top percentage of cryptocurrency before we know it.

Like most of you I have a day job, but mine is seasonal with flexible hours. I have a choice. I can choose to work 12 hours a day or 14 hours a day as long as I can get the job done. My wife told me once. “Honey, don’t work too hard, just get the job done.” The problem is, she sets very high standard and expects a lot. I hinted in one of my posts at Cryptomoms that the creators of Dnotes and Cryptomoms are old school farm boys from the Midwest. That is a true statement.  This is the same group that started Smokeys Daylily Gardens with just a pair of shoe strings from a pair of worn out old shoes 7 years ago.  You know what I mean. They started from nothing but a commitment to be the best in class one day. If they are not already there, they are getting very close.   Check it out: http://www.smokeysdaylilygardens.com. They are one of the largest daylily growers in the world. And if you like the website, guess. You are right, same developer.

If you don’t set a goal as to where you want to be, it shouldn’t matter where you ended up. You may wish that you ended up in a better place. But “wish” and “hope” for a favorable outcome is dependent on good luck. From my own experience, it is not dependable and doesn’t happen that often. However, if you plan to be the best in class, you have a much improved chance of getting very close to what you are shooting for. At least, if you missed the target, you know. May be, try a little harder the next time around. Don’t kid yourself. It takes a lot of hard work to get there. Coupled with a commitment not to take short cuts, it takes a lot longer to get there, unless you are lucky, of which you cannot count on.

DNotes plan to be the best in class one day. That is a very ambitious goal. Well, if that is not our goal, then how can we consistently brand DNotes as the “Digital currency of the future with lasting value?” Yes, that is absolutely DNotes’ ultimate goal. To achieve that goal it takes a lot of hard work, much patience and relentless resolves. By design, DNotes is a long tern value currency. It is perhaps the worst candidate as a speculative trading currency. It is not programmed to go to the moon and instantly come crushing back down.

In order to be the digital currency of the future, that currency must meet the three most important criteria.

First, it must be traded on all major exchanges and recognized by most analysts as a value currency with long term appreciation. There must be strong fundamentals to support its value and growth projections.  Typically, the long term trend reflects a higher high and a higher low.

Second as a store of value. At a minimum, its value or purchasing power must be able to keep up with the rate of inflation. As an example, if it costs 300 DNotes or US$2.99 to purchase a gallon of milk today and the price of milk went up to US$3.99 next year, the same 300 DNotes must be able to purchase that gallon of milk. That being case, this is a reliable currency, in regards to store of value. Now, if it only cost 250 Notes, it means that DNotes was either under valued a year ago or that it has high appreciation value.

Three, being a medium of exchange for goods and services in conducting global commerce.  Until there is a digital currency that can meet this demanding criteria, it is my humble opinion that digital currency will not become main stream in global commerce. On the other, if one or more crypto currencies meet this demanding standard, the total global transactional value will be in the trillions of dollars. Unfortunately, our industry has failed to meet this requirement miserably. Whether you consider it individually or as a group, the value of crypto currencies today is chaotic and unreliable. At a more appropriate time DNotes will attempt to sign up merchant accounts to use DNotes for the purchase of their goods and services. However, until DNotes is sufficiently established and accepted as a trustworthy, stable, and reliable currency with appreciating value, do not expect an all out campaign  from DNotes to sign up merchant accounts. In other words, it is not yet ready for "Prime Time."

In conclusion, as a consequence of our low priority to drive up the price of DNotes, expect DNotes to remain under valued, while solid asset value is being created for its stake holder as more revenue generating properties like Cryptomoms are added to its portfolio. DNotes will work closely with Cryptomoms to significantly increase women’s participation in the crypto currency world overwhelmingly dominated by man. Cryptomoms will be promoted as a currency neutral site with a bias towards DNotes. Inherently that will always be the case, as the facts remain that whether you are an individual, a company or a country you always have the tendency to promote and protect your self interest before others. Being currency neutral, everyone is welcome at Cryptomoms and encouraged to participate in its forum, use it as a resource center, and respectfully promote their products and services.  It is a global community center managed by a team of highly skilled professional women with dedicated support from men. Reaching out to the entire industry, Cryptomoms will relentlessly seek to build a culture of mutual respect and cooperation in its core mission to increase women’s participation in the crypto currency space. It will use this as a platform to promote the best interest of the industry with the ultimate common goal of crypto currencies being accepted as the currency of choice in conducting global commerce.

It appears as though StabilityShares is trying to hijack CryptoMoms, let's all show DNotes support on the CryptoMoms forum. On a secondary note, I have a project in the works that involves DNotes, CryptoMoms, and a rapidly growing team of tech savvy Firefighters!

CryptoBroker79, that is very nice of you to be so supportive of DNotes and Cryptomoms. StabilityShares has certainly been very active at Cryptomoms. For the most part, I thought he has been very helpful. Cryptomoms is currency neutral and everyone is welcome as long as there is mutual respect for one another. Very good to know that you have a project in the works that involves DNotes, Crytomoms, and a rapidly growing team of tech savvy Firefighters. Let us if there is anything we can be of help.

I will do some work there int eh afternoon. I just trying to fit in with my new health schedule along with all this coin stuff..WOW it is exploding which is a good thing. CRYPTOMOMS STRIVES FOR DIGITAL CURRENCY EQUALITY
by Doug Coughlin @ Yesterday, 11:46
Facebook5 Twitter3 Google+1 Pinterest
According to a 2013 survey, over 95% of Bitcoin users are male. This gender imbalance has not gone unnoticed the community.

Last week Cryptomoms.com launched in hopes of leveling the digital currency-playing field. The site, created by the same team who created DNotes and run from the Midwestern United States, states its mission thus:

“Cryptomoms.com is a digital community center with a dedicated mission to encourage and assist women to participate in the emerging world of crypto currency overwhelmingly dominated by men.”

Some users believe Bitcoin will only “become a truly global payment network” with stronger female demographics while others think social and class issues greatly outweigh the gender issue. Of course, there’s always “the Babes of Bitcoin” giving advice to men on how to change this lopsidedness.

For their part, Cryptomoms.com celebrated the site launch by giving away up to 3 million DNotes, including over 175k worth of DNotes in its random Retweet contest and 250 DNotes to every new member providing their wallet address. Those without an account are advised to check out exchanges Allcoin and Poloniex, where DNotes are accepted.

The Cryptomoms site aims to provide a positive atmosphere and appears transparent in its intentions of providing knowledge of all things digital currency, rather than be a platform to advertise their DNote affiliate.

For those new to the digital currency world, active blogs, forums, external links, and tweets allow users and those curious of Cryptomoms read and find out about the multi-faceted world of cryptocurrency. The site is full of detailed how-to videos and instructions on subjects like creating a wallet, how to send and receive the currency, and how to protect your accounts.

When it comes to digital currency users who are not women, Cryptomoms is still aims to be welcoming. An administrator addressed a question regarding which demographics are allowed to get involved, stating “This site is for everyone . Our goal is to create a friendly environment for all and help close the gender gap in crypto currency.”

Gender inequality in the digital sphere remains a complex issue, and discussions often lead one to address to the broader issues of a gender gap in the tech world and business world.

With its colorful and upbeat vibes, quick and open dialogue with its administrators, and goals to broaden the digital currency community reminiscent of Alakanani Itirelang and Elizabeth Ploshay, it’s hard not to commend Cryptomoms for its ambition and execution.

Expert Andrew Wagner weighs in on the gender imbalance in the digital world:

“I haven't seen it to be a major problem at my own events, as I try to maintain a welcoming atmosphere, but I think it exists--maybe to about the same extent as in similar fields. Women tend to be less interested in technology and finance due to social pressure applied from a young age, especially in certain cultures. I imagine there are a lot of guys in the community who've felt rejected for their hobbies in the past, so when they meet a woman who resisted or overcame these obstacles, they react by stereotyping her.

I actually have a couple friends who are involved in a cryptowomen organization. I'll probably see one of them, today--she helped organize a panel on the subject. Her response might be more controversial than mine.

I think I have seen sexism occur at other events, though. I can't play host all the time. I've even seen public figures that would surprise you engage in such behavior.”
