We are also being challenged by the noticable switch from POW to POS, despite the potential of injecting a significantly higher risk profile most people may not care to understand.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I may be exaggerating a little, but it seems like there is a new POS coin being launched every hour.  I have never looked at them from any other perspective other than as an investment.  I figured as long as you chose only a few very carefully, and didn't assume that every POS was a good coin, they seemed like a good choice.  Can you explain why they pose such a higher level of risk.
[/quote]
------------------------
Not being the technical expert myself, let me just put it this way. We have seriously considered the option of switching from our current Proof of Work (POW) to Proof Of Stake (POS) and concluded that the risk of something going wrong was too high to be acceptable. Without mentioning names, this is already proven the case. I am glad we decided against it.

I will be happy whatever  you decide as I love this coin and tomorrow my Mining Partner is going to point our rented rigs to DNOTES..on the Diggerpool I think. This coin and project is for the long haul. Smiley I will be more active in Crptomoms from tomorrow too as I will be not day trading as much anymore..I really prefer the Community part of Crypto much more. I will be executing my trades on a one or two days a week basis so I can be more proactive in the promo side again. Smiley

Thanks for your support and confidence in DNotes.  DNotes will be a lot harder to come by in a couple of weeks. We will be making an announcement with further details this weekend followed by a press release early next week.

Fire Fighters For Digital Currency (FF4DC)

http://firefightersfordigitalcurrency.com/

The entire DNotes community is welcome and encouraged to register and participate in the forum.  If everyone could send a message about this site to their local fire department we could unite fire departments from around the world and get a lot of new people holding DNotes.

Thanks!

DNotes has been updated and we are making a few changes. KGW is now patched for the time warp issue. The block reward will be reduced to 25 as of block 150,000 and the yearly block reward reduction is now 5%. Please upgrade your client prior to 6/1/2014, fork will be at block 150,000. See downloads and source code on original post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=470155.0). To upgrade your desktop client simply download the new zip file, extract the files, and open the dnotes-qt.

I will be contacting the exchanges and pools directly to inform them of the update individually.

This is probably a good time to pick up bargain DNotes on Poloniex - 200 SAT!

Woah... This is huge. As a fairly invested Dnotes holder i'm thrilled for myself personally, but I'm curious what the "business reason" was for this change with regard to the health of the currency overall? Is there a trend towards popularity for rarer currencies now that the doge craze has calmed down a bit?

To get the full prospective it will be helpful to read the press release on Monday May 19, 2014. Essentially, after considering various options in response to our ever changing industry the DNotes team decided that reducing the supply of new DNotes by 90% is the best course of action for our long term stake holders.

Thanks for the response. Looking forward to the official announcement! My business partner and I have a lot of confidence in this currency after what we've seen thus far, and are thrilled to be a part of it.

Thank you for your support and confidence in DNotes. We have a somewhat different business model. We firmly believe that the digital currency of the future must serve three critical functions; a) exchange trading to establish a currency value, b) a store of value that can at least keep up with the rate of inflation, and c) a medium of exchange that is stable and trust worthy. This is extremely challenging. We believe that DNotes has the best chance to be the digital currency of the future if  it stays true to its mission right from the formative stage.
