Did anyone know whether Newzealand enforce the follow-on ? Although Bangladesh innings were ended on 126 runs but i did not find any announcement whether Newzealand will bat on the 3rd day or will they allow Bangladesh to play again. I think they should enforce the follow on and the match could be finished on the 3rd day.

There is no announcement that has been made by the New Zealand team yet. However, it is expected that they will give another chance to the Bangladesh team to bat the next day. Bangladesh trailing by 395 runs. And they don't have the ability to score 395 runs on this type of pitch as they did in the first innings. My prediction is that Bangladesh will bat again tomorrow, and will be able to collect 220 runs. Bangladesh will lose all their wickets in the next day.

However, Bangladesh is not familiar with the pitch that New Zealand has made. Bangladesh's field pitch is completely different. The BCB should provide training to players on all types of pitches. Then Bangladesh team would not have faced such a bad performance.

Most probably Bangladesh will loss the match by an innings if New Zealand enforce the follow on. The pitch behaved differently on the second day. Only 1 wicket fallen on first day and we have seen 15 wickets fall on day two. And I agree with the fact that BCB should change the pitch condition of their home ground. Bangladeshi players always struggle when they plays in other countries filed.

Well it is quiet obvious that newzealand will make Bangladesh bat again tomorrow. 395 is a huge huge lead and most probably this match will end tomorrow. Newzealand bowlers would still be fresh so there is no reason for newzealand to bat again. If Bangladesh able to take this match to 4th day then I will say well done to them.

Rather than a career record, his last match will be a remembered by him. He'll be remembered for his performance throughout his cricketing career. The performance of Bangladesh this time is completely opposite to the previous match. New Zealand have made them strong with the previous match defeat. Does anybody know whether the Bangladesh had a national holiday once after the win against New Zealand. Years back Bangladesh had a national holiday once after winning a match against India

Your point of views are very different from others. You still think that  D/L system is fair? I don't think so. This is one of the poor systems which gives a lot of benefit to the team batting first and making the target unrealistic for the chasing team. If you remember the Semifinal of 1992 world cup, where South Africa, despite being in a better position in the semifinals, was lost to England on this D/L Method.

Nonsense. If it wasn't fair, it would have been scrapped a long time back. The example which you gave is valid, but it is part of a minority of cases. It provides fair conclusions majority of the time which is what matters the most.

Other systems like the VAR in soccer perform in a similar manner. No system is perfect basically.

This is something that the Asian teams do, but not the SENA nations. One exception was the recently concluded 4th test of Ashes, where the Australian captain delayed declaring his innings, so that Usman Khawaja could complete his century. And this in turn resulted in a draw, as the last wicket partnership between James Anderson and Stuart Broad managed to survive the 5th day. I don't want the New Zealand captain to make the same mistake. Ross Taylor is a legendary player and he always put his team above his personal milestones.

Day 3 at Christchurch with Bangladesh requiring a massive innings to improve their run rate yet 5 wickets gone. I question how much long they will survive on the pitch. I hope nothing but at this point but at least a respective performance. Maybe being too optimistic but waiting to see a better bating display from Bangladeshi batters Liton Das or Hasan.

I thought Bangladesh could not win. However, their first innings disappointed me a lot. I expected at least 200 runs from them in the first innings. They finished the innings with just 126 runs. They scored 278 runs in the second innings. This is a good collection for a team like Bangladesh.

You're right, also it looks like the Indian cricket board is full of politics than fair functioning. Considering the contribution of Virat Kohli he can be given chances than directly taking the captaincy.

Virat has been doing the best, Pujara managed to score 43 runs whereas Rahane lost his wicket scoring just 9 runs in a very important match. Virat Kohli has taken the responsibility and playing the best test cricket scoring 40 runs out of 139 balls. Considering the early wickets what India have scored by now seems to be a better score. If I'm not wrong, Kohli will focus much on withstanding partnership than scoring runs. Because, if the winning chance decreases he needs to manage atleast for a draw.

Despite losing 8 wickets, India's captain Virat Kohli maintains his position. Virat Kohli took 157 deliveries to get to fifty runs! He played a classy innings in such conditions. He's not out of shape, he's just not performing up to his usual standard. Virat Kohli has scored an extremely important half century at crusial time, and is now heading to century if the two batters remain on this pitch a little longer.

If not for the patient innings from Virat Kohli, India would be struggling to get to this total, if one player was able to give him a decent support from the other end, the situation would have been different. Now this match also looks likes the second Test match and if the bowlers are not able to restrict South Africa then it will be hard to get back in this match as it looks like a difficult pitch to bat.

After repeated poor performances, it looks as if they have assured slots in the playing XI. And all this at a time when promising youngsters like Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Ishan Kishan and Ruturaj Gaikwad are relegated to the sidelines. Rahane now averages just 39 in test cricket and I really don't understand the logic in keeping him in the playing XI.

Spot on. Excuses related to toss and other factors are downright silly and stupid. NZ demolished Bangladesh thanks to a spectacular innings by Latham and amazing bowling performances by Boult and Jamieson.

Ross Taylor had a fairy-tale ending to his test career thanks to that wicket. Another legend is out. Will miss him for sure.

Now this match also looks likes the second Test match and if the bowlers are not able to restrict South Africa then it will be hard to get back in this match as it looks like a difficult pitch to bat.

I feel like I am watching an ODI series between India and South Africa at this point. South Africa definitely has the advantage currently though they could lose it if we witness a batting collapse.

Indian selectors are not at all bothered with Ajinkya Rahane or Pujara it seems. They still get a berth in the team  regardless of their performance. Pujara still played well yesterday but Rahane has been scoring single digit for a long time now and he needs to go out of the team. There are others like you suggested who can replace this guy.
