I do agree that woakes is just an over rated players. His performance in 2019 WC is the only remarkable I remember. England most of times in Ashes is down and out, as far as this test is concerned I am sure Aus will easily win it. England should look for some new talent that can replace Jimmy/Broad pair.

Why do they need to replace Broad and Anderson? Anderson in particular can go on for another 5-6 years at least and can easily target 1,000 test wickets. Just because someone is young, that doesn't mean that they should replace more skilled players. In case of Woakes however, I think that the selectors need to rethink. Mark Wood maybe a better choice? I would still support going with 4 pacers, because Jack Leach looked out of sorts during the first test. Anyway, they have a part-time spin bowler in Joe Root.

Problem is not with bowling side because combo of Anderson and Broad doing very good for last one decade, but they have not good supportive bowlers with worst batting which is creating more problems for them recently we have watched them against India and now in Australia just Root is having consistency and Malan and Stokes giving some support, but all others are just waste of energy and time because they have no talent which is question mark on their domestic system which is one of best but now no producing quality batsmen.

In Australia, we have too many options available for them like Warner, Labuschagne, Smith and Head these all are quality and have good performance in every match.

With his performance and quality I have no doubt that he can play some more years, he is really super fit athlete at the moment and having some very good courage for this game of cricket. But, sadly his team position is not good due to very poor selection in batting line-up and having no better and quality back up bowlers those can give some good replacement on the crucial time of game.

In last few years they are facing serious batting issue which is not resolved with strange circumstance's, and they have few very unprofessional batsmen in their current batting line-up which are creating problems for them just like Burns who is completely failure in this series with many meme's and joke having fit on him around the cricket world.

Anderson may not be the perfect guy, but he has done well enough to guarantee a spot within the playing XI. Honestly I was shocked when he was dropped from the playing XI for the first test. He always maintains very good fitness levels and therefore I think that if he want, then he can go for another 5 years quite easily. And look at the younger generation bowlers like Woakes, Wood, Robinson, Mahmood and Archer. None of them are consistent. Unless they perform consistently, I guess the selectors should show adequate respect towards Anderson.

England will surely going to face defeat in second test as well. There batting n bowling line up totally collapsed in this Ashes so far. Malan n Root are the only one who scored some runs, when you are chasing 473 then top order needs to perform. Nothing going in England favour.

England's players are not back in the form. They maintain their weak performance as usual. I did not understand why suddenly the England team's degeneration. All players lost the form together. There is no regular performance in the team without root. However, if Australia gives more than 420 targets, they will also win the second Test match. The match is in the control of Australia.

Looking at the English performance its feels like over rated series IMO. Its only surviving because its a oldest cricket rivalry. Mediocre show from one side and they call it "The pinnacle of test cricket", more like a shithousery of test cricket. Feel bad for English fans tho. I used to feel exactly same about our team back in 2011-2013.

Yes, England is struggling throughout the series. Yeah, there is lack of back support from players. Few players doing the best while the back team misses it. If every player give an average performance the score could've been above 300. This time Australia confirms its win very earlier, because of two more days left for the match and it already leads by 282 runs.

Hope England will perform better in the upcoming match. It seems the right time to progress, because three more matches which can serve as a fight back for England.

On the other hand Australia didn't showed any sign of degradation in performance despite the fact there skipper had to resign just before the Ashes. Can but 150 runs when rooted out. After that, no other batsman's crease lasted long. The match could have been drawn if England had collected as much as 350.

I am very very dissapointed with England batting performance. At 140-2 I betted my money on draw @2.00 odds as batting was looking so easy at that time and suddenly they collapsed. The way they were playing after that 3rd wicket was like a very low class team. I am very dissapointed with england perfomance. Sorry for your loss. Its because of these reasons I rearly bet on test matches. We saw similar type of situation in India/New Zealand and Pak/Bangladesh test series. Things change suddenly when one team is going so good. I don't know whether such swings are natural in cricket or someone controlling the situation? Just asking.
