Yeah afganistan is facing some terrible times and they need support from ICC as well as other country boards as well. Afganistan is full of talent and if given right guidance they can become a team to beat in the upcoming times. Rashid khan can be one of the best spinners in the test as well like he is in t-20

I do not think that there i no issue for the Afghanistan cricket board but the outside world might take action against them because of the Taliban rule as they do not allow Woman sports at all and Cricket Australia is vocal and they might call off matches against Afghanistan if the situation does not change, the biggest question is what will the ICC's position in this regard, as we are yet to hear any statement from them.

Sooner or later Afghanistan will be eliminated from icc n primary reason is there new government has differences with India and India will use icc to restrict them from playing international matches. India investment in Afghanistan has gone down to zero after New take over.
But in the end it will be Afghanistan players that will suffer. They have made huge progress in recent years n chances are that it will be down to zero. Only neutral icc can allow them to play cricket.

Apartheid era South Africa was kicked out from the ICC for discriminating against the racial minorities. Here, Taliban is doing much worse. They are literally exterminating the religious minorities. Given this, the ICC don't have any option other than to terminate them. The funding will stop as well. Because whatever funds being provided to the Afghan cricket board will end up with the Taliban terrorists and they will use those funds to spread terror in neighboring regions. No need to blame the BCCI here. Even the other boards such as the ECB and CA will do the same.

I think until and unless the world recognises the Taliban government they will face such discrimination. The "world" is never going to recognize Taliban, because they are a bunch of murderous terrorists. And they haven't done anything to convince others that they are behaving in a civilized way. I am looking forward to see what the other sports bodies do regarding Afghanistan. FIFA hasn't suspended their membership yet, and on the other hand they have managed to evacuate around 100 football players to Qatar. The ICC has remained mute, despite Afghanistan being one of the test playing nations.

So guys last India vs England series still alive. India is leading 2-1 but England now has good chance to tie the series considering Ben stokes and Jofra might come back next year and they could possibly win the match because its one-off test match along with white ball series.

This is your personal statement because you are feeling some pain but sooner of later world must do some better relationship with Afghanistan because they need this otherwise they will face some serious dilemma which is not good for anyone China is working very closely with them, and they are going to invest some good amount for their own sack and Russia is also monitoring this all if these two accepted then surely no way for many other countries even India is crying about this and having some good propaganda on social media no one going to check this all.

But, now hopefully we will have some changes and youths able to perform good in cricket and soccer because they need some good things for entertainment as well.

@Sithara007 you’re right post an injury a player always takes time to recover, but Ben Stokes can recover strongly as he has that winning desire in him. Also with Jofra it’s a confidence issue, and once he’s able to cross this barrier then he’ll be able to perform well against any opponent including team India.

Unfortunately we can't expect anything from icc on such matters. The new regime in Afghanistan don't have good relations with big 3, rest you can understand yourself. One of the biggest concern is whether new government allow cricket team to play under the old afghan flag or not? The other concerns include whether woman's are allowed to play cricket? There are many if else which need to be cleared by new Afghanistan government in order to keep playing the cricket.

Cricket Australia will cancel the Test match against Afghanistan in November if women are not allowed to play the sport under the Taliban regime. source


Nothing much to say about SA Aus match. So far Aussies bowlers have done there job, seems like SA will be restricted to 120. It will be an easy target to chase for Australia.

Second match will be interesting,  odds are favouring Eng but WI is equally good in T20. I have placed my bet on WI. Wish me luck.

After this T20 CWC we will have some better idea what's going to happen in ICC about Afghanistan because right now they are busy with this all. I am feeling most chances ICC will ban Afghanistan because few big are not happy with this all which happening in Afghanistan, so they will use their own power and ban them. Taliban will never allow women in cricket, and they will never compromise with this all so its can happen in near future. But right now, these all are speculations we have to wait from both sides about this what is clearly coming because I feel they have to allow Afghanistan but still it's all about power and personal ego.

This is a very stupid suggestion. If politics has nothing to do with cricket, then why the ICC banned apartheid era South Africa from international cricket for almost three decades? Zimbabwe was suspended recently for something far less serious. And in Afghanistan the Taliban is butchering thousands of innocent people every day. And you suggest that the ICC should continue to fund the Afghan board with $5 million in funds every year, so that it can be stolen by the Taliban and used for terrorist activities?

But I don't think that Afghanistan as a team would be allowed to play international cricket. It does not matter what BCCI plans to do but if most big boards are in favour of banning Afghanisthan then BCCI too will follow. ICC has to comply with these big boards as they are the revenue-generating boards for ICC. I pity those player and the youngsters who were trying to make a career out of cricket.

Well, Afghanistan cricket board getting band will be really sad for all the cricket lovers as they have produced a lot of really quality players in recent times but judging the situation of Afghanistan maybe it's just better for everyone that Afghanistan players do not play any international matches soon. Because here the safety of the players is involved. And we have to remember that in cricket we don't have as many teams playing as like football so losing a test playing nation is a big problem. And I know this is going to create a lot of fuss which in my opinion ICC does not want right now and maybe that is the reason they are not still taking any decisions about this.

They just don't want to create any unnecessary controversy during the world cup. However I expect the suspension immediately after the completion of the tournament. I feel bad about the future of young cricketers in Afghanistan, but hopefully the ICC will divert the funds to other promising countries such as Nepal, Namibia, Kenya and Papua New Guinea. It is a bit harsh, but the ICC or the international community can't afford to provide any sort of legitimacy to brutal regimes such as the Taliban and the ISIS.
