Well.. it is quite possible. Kohli is not in good form for the last 2 years or so, and there are so many talented youngsters waiting to replace him from his no.3 batting position within the national team. It needs to be seen for how long the BCCI will stick with him despite his poor performance. Hardick went through a similar lean phase and it took 2 years for the selectors to kick him out. If Kohli had concentrated on his game rather than all the drama such as Black Lives Matter and Diwali cracker ban, then he would have been able to perform much better. Maybe he should learn a lesson or two from the past legends such as Sachin Tendulkar or Rahul Dravid.

He is just 33 years and has an ample amount of time to come back. It is too early to say that he will lose his slot as a batter in the Indian team. Even Tendulkar also went through such a phase and he was given time to come back. I think he should start working on his basics and should take a break from international cricket for some time.

And the consistent performance has put him into a low phone which is really hard to come out of. And I also agree that he has lost his professionalism and instead of doing these dramas if he actually did concentrate on his game he would still be playing well.

Apart from Hardik, there are just two other options who can be considered for national team selection - Vijay Shankar and Venkatesh Iyer. In case of Vijay Shankar, it is doubtful whether he will ever play in IPL after his horrendous performance this season (19 runs from 4 matches, and zero wickets). Venkatesh Iyer showed a lot of promise during last season (2021), but this season he failed. He struggled with both bat and ball. Anyway, he's young (at least when compared to Shankar) and there is a chance that he will make a comeback next year.

I had my doubts if Australia is going to visit SriLanka or not due to unrest but it seems they are set to go for the bilateral series, this is good news as it could help SL's board with some sort of revenue in these tough times. Meanwhile BCCI also promised another bilateral series to SL in coming months.

I hope this goes well because the Sri Lankan cricket board is going to need all the money that they can get right now under such circumstances. Getting these types of help from boards like Australia and India is really good hope for the smaller teams that are struggling right now.

Hopefully, the bigger cricket boards will come forward and help the smaller boards which actually need the help.

I don't think we have to say too much about the performance. Obviously, Sri Lanka might perform really badly because they are not in a good mindset because of what is going on in the country right now. I don't expect them to win against these teams right now but I do expect them to fight well.

Watching the Netherlands vs West Indies ODI match on Fancode. Now Netherlands is also fielding a number of foreign players in the XI. I could count 4 players who were born outside the Netherlands: Vikramjit Singh (Punjab), Aryan Dutt, Musa Ahmed (Lahore) and Teja Nidamanuru (Vijayawada). I am not going to blame them, because they don't have any other options. With each passing year less number of natives are playing cricket in the Netherlands. And the funding from ICC is proportional to the performance. At least they are keeping 50% of the squad as native, as opposed to 0% for UAE and Oman.

Because there are still experienced batsmen like Shai Hope in the crease. West Indies will probably win this match.

In the end, pace attack was led by Logan van Beek, who did a very good job within himself. But he hardly got any support from others such as Vivian Kingma and Ryan Klein. The spin component was also disappointing.

After a poor performance in the T20 format, the Sri Lankan women's team has continued its poor performance in the ODI series as well. Today, in the first ODI match, they lost all their wickets for only 169 runs. I don't think it is possible to win with a target of only 170 runs. At the end of 19 overs, Pakistan women's team collected 74 runs. They have lost only 1 wicket. Now Pakistan women's team needs only 96 runs in 31 overs.

But it will also be really unfair for Netherlands if we just don't say they played well because they did miss the service of some important players but on the other hand West Indies played with their main team.

And I think this is the way it is going to be for the rest of the matches also.

Sri Lankan women's team used to perform better, and now the results were different. At the last order Kavisha Dilhari managed to score 49runs. If that run hasn't added, the score might've got stopped within 150runs. The team need to work, with the prevailing economic crisis within the country they don't get much of access. On the other side Pakistan women's team is getting stronger by day. Winning the match losing just two wickets is simply good.

The problem is Netherlands are missing the service of some important players. Even though the batting performance that they have shown is good I believe the bowling was the weakest link. And only one bowler will never be able to fill up the gaps left by the others.

West Indies is already a strong team compared to the Netherlands. Then Netherlands missing players is not helping them at all. I also believe that Fred Klaassen will add some stability to the team but I am not sure even that is going to be enough.
