The reason might be the powerful cricket boards are not willing to send the players to the Olympics, the ODI and Test format are simply not possible but the T20 version is the perfect one to be played in the Olympics and it is over a decade we are conducting the T20 World Cup and it is time that they involve cricket in the biggest stage of all time.

The reason once put forward by the ECB chief was that if there is a cricket tournament within the Olympics, then the popularity of the ICC world cup may get impacted. Now BCCI has changed their stance and they support the inclusion of cricket in the Olympics (one of the moves made by Ganguly after he became the BCCI head). But ECB and CA (and CNZ) remains opposed to the Olympic inclusion of cricket. Among these three boards, I would say that the ECB has been more consistent with their approach. For the last 5 decades or so, they have opposed measures to popularize cricket.

Such action during the match is very unfair and he banned for the next three matches and finned around ~$5800. But there are rumors that umpires in the DPL are involved in match-fixing so players are furious with them.

I was not aware of DPL going on when PSL resumed, i thought Shakib Al Hasan had these issues in the PSL which is conducted in the UAE and it is always a prime spot for match fixing. It looks like Shakib Al Hasan keeps on getting into trouble all the time, he is back after a one year suspension and now he is suspended for showing aggression again umpires  .

For showing frustration you get 3 match suspension and what kind of suspension you get if you slap someone out of frustration .

Shakib Al Hasan used to break atmosphere of match out of his frustration, being charged couple of times until now. Absolutely Shakib Al Hasan won't give up showcase his misconduct anytime soon, though every time some strict action has been taken. Anyway, we have been hearing about the alleged massive corruption in the ongoing DPL, this should also be investigated.

In the course of time, obviously their power will get diluted. In the near future more countries will get test status and the number of board members will increase. And there is nothing that they can do about it. Furthermore, the ECB has a habit of punching above their weight. Their share and influence on the ICC revenues is not that high(unlike the case with India, which contributes to >50% of the revenues). But they have always tried to dictate the ICC policies, by forming a cabal with the BCCI, CA and CNZ. But now with the BCCI in hands of Ganguly, this plan is not working for them.

I have talked to some cricket fans in Bangladesh. They are not happy with the 3-match ban on Shakib Al Hasan. But they have been happy with Shakib's behavior. Because of this, everyone will know about the corruption and match-fixing in domestic cricket. And the head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board has said that if the fixing does not stop, he will stop the DFL.

Time has come to cut down the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) to size. I don't know why the BCB is giving so much importance to a club competition in just one city. Instead they should focus their resources to improve the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). I agree that DPL was the premier competition when Bangladesh was an associate nation. But now they have got test status and therefore need to move to a regional domestic competition, where all the major regions are represented and not just Dhaka.

And obviously some of them have resorted to match fixing and other avenues to improve their financial situation.

So gamblers are getting easy opportunities of match fixing and lots of fixing is happening.

I have a doubt, i understand that these clubs are not under the control of BCB but we were discussing about Shakib Al Hasan getting some penalty and suspension because of his behavior and these players are contracted with BCB and if Shakib Al Hasan is playing many players who are contracted with BCB will be playing as well, so will they allow these players to breach their contract or whether they have special permission to play these games.

The clubs may be quite old, but all the cricketing activity within Bangladesh comes under the purview of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). The DPL may have enjoyed a great degree of autonomy, and may continue to do so in the near future. But if the allegations of match fixing are proven to be true, then the BCB may take away that autonomy or cancel the accreditation for the league. The latter option will destroy the competition, as the national and domestic players will be banned from taking part in any of the matches. So it will be good for them to avoid any direct confrontation with the BCB.

If he's a person who wants to keep the game clean, he should have come out of the league with the proof to the media. Anyhow it is upto different users belief, anyhow the recent incident have been much into discussion among the cricket boards all around.

Did anyone checked the points table for ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League? I know it is a bit early, but South Africa and Sri Lanka remains at the rock bottom (#12 and #13 respectively). Netherlands has moved to the #9 spot, with their two wins over Ireland. The next set of matches is going to be in England, where the hosts will face Sri Lanka. A 3-0 series win for England would mean Sri Lanka remaining at the 13th spot, with England moving up to the top spot (they are in second position now).

Players continue to put franchise cricket above national duty. Previously, the Australian players used to be an exception. But that is no longer the case. A record six Australian players have pulled out of national duty, to keep themselves fit for the IPL. These players are: David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Kane Richardson, Pat Cummins, Marcus Stoinis and Jhye Richardson. I wouldn't balme them. Because after all cricket is like any other profession and these players need to earn as much as they can when they are fully fit.

This is just like players auctioning their bats or bowl with their signature on it. NFT is the new way of earning money for these players.
