In my opinion, a player or captain having an aggressive approach is okay but there is always a line and it should never be crossed.

As you said, Ganguly never crossed that line but Virat did so. Now that he has been removed from the captaincy role, I think that necessary actions can be taken against him for past actions or anything he does in the future. Venkatesh Iyer, has scored 36 runns in 3 innings with one wicket but he can replace Kohli if BCCI members agree on it.

India have played 5 Tests at Wanderers Stadium, 2 win and 3 draw. They are in a position to win current test also without Kohli. The rivalry b/w Kohli and BCCI will get tense with time and it will be Kohli who will lose the majority of his stake. There is lot of talent in India and BCCI will happily replace him with some new suitable talent who has no record of bulling the BCCI.

You are right. Now that he is no longer the captain in any format, the board can easily replace him if he underperforms. He had the immunity of being auto-picked as he was the captain, and also he was given freedom outside the field as well but now I think he should be treated the same just like any other player.

If he does something out of the line, he should be punished accordingly. I'm not sure about whether he actually refused to play or not, maybe we need some days to actually figure out what the actual matter is.

If what you said comes out true and Virat is not playing to show his displeasure, that will be a huge loss for him. As India surely has a batter to replace him and once you get out of the Indian squad, it's quite hard to make a return.

To maintain discipline in the team boards have to take tough decisions no matter who is the player. Indians are crazy for cricket and there will be lots of replacement for virat Kohli. Right now, India is full of quality and skilled players, so now it's time for Kohli to came down on earth and do his work for staying into time for some more years because I check many cases discipline is most important for any team and country instead of player and his records. @Sithara007, I'm not sure what to say about this decision. If what you are saying is true, Vihari is getting special treatment for whatever reason, this is not good. This is not good for both the deserving player and the future of Indian Cricket.
Because as this type of approach keeps on continuing, it will become a trend and there will be a time when well-deserving players will get lost. So this trend needs to be cut off at the very root and primary level.

I feel there is a lot of politics being developed inside the indian cricket board and it may not be good for the team. Indian team is one of the best teams in these days but usually its the battle between the boards and players which have bad effects on the overall performance of the team.
They should select one captain and stick to it, Rohit is the ideal choice for now.

It's not just the Indian team. I have heard about similar incidents and issues from all the other Asian teams, including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. BTW, I don't think that Rohit is suitable to lead the team for the long term. He will be 35 years soon and may remain in international scene for another one or two years. I would say that either Rishabh Pant or Shreyas Iyer should be made the captain at least in one of the formats, so that they could replace Rohit in a couple of years from now.

India is biggest board so don't compare it with countries like Pak, BAN, SL and Afghan. There must be tight control of board on players like we have in England and Australia. Rohit is just made captain, let him try something before we start saying that he is not suitable for captaincy. He can play for 2 to 3 years from here on.

WI managed to score 229 in 48 overs before there last batsman got out. Lastly WI can yet turn their fortunes around if their best player’s play more international cricket, but I can understand why they chose other leagues over international cricket due to more revenues being involved.

If these leagues continue to progress then teams like WI will go down in performance since there boards are not rich and leagues pay more to players. Its very unfortunate but its a reality we have to accept. WI has produced great players in the form of Brian Lara, Walsh but now there is hardly any noticeable name in there team.

Ireland was playing without many of their regular players, as the captain (Andrew Balbirnie) and some of the star performers tested positive for COVID. On top of that, Mark Adair was injured and this severely weakened their bowling department. And despite all this, they managed to defeat West Indies. Andy McBrine had an exceptional outing, and he was supported by the pacer Craig Young. Now looking at the points table for the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League, I believe there is a very good chance that Ireland may finish among the top 8.
