South Africa just won the toss and decided to bat first. I guess toss must be too crucial on South Africa pitches as slow down will be possible later on which might be a concern for the teams batting second. After toss, I have placed my bet on South Africa but before that I was in plan to bet on India but the playing eleven line up is not convincing me. Mohamed Siraj is missing this match as well and Shikhar Dhawan is still in India team. Okay, overall, let me see how my luck will work today.

This might be the last chance for Shikhar Dhawan to prove he is worthy of being part of the Indian team. South Africa has already lost 3 wickets not a good start for them in my opinion. After winning the test series South Africa would now aim for the ODI series. K L Rahul would also like to prove  he is worthy being chosen as the captain.

The top order batsmen played well. The match is still under Indian control. If they can continue like this and if Kohli can stay at the crease till 35overs then India will win the match.

If he doesn't play well, it will be more difficult for India to win the match.

India would have expected to win this match very easily when dhawan and Virat were batting. Things were looking very easy at that time, they were milking runs pretty easily but after the wicket of dhawan, no one looked convincing,they just came and gone. Just at the end shardul made some runs but it was not enough.

Surely very poor efforts from batting line-up as they fail to give any better response after wickets of Dhawan and Kohli at the end Thakur done some good resistance for this was not enough to having good end for them.

Now it's time for having some tactical changes into batting line-up for having some better results in remaining matches because if they fail to do some better than surely after test series now in ODI series they are going to have same result which could be very bad for them, and surely it's going to hurt all team in future. South African youths doing some better in absence of many start players which is very good signal for them as now they can prepare better for future.

Even in the Test matches if the middle order would have performed the results would have been different. The same situation is happening in ODI as well, the openers started well and Shikhar Dhawan played a really great innings and his position is safe until Rohit Sharma returns. Not sure what happened to the younger players that used to perform. Not expecting much in this series.

India will definitely try there best to win this series but its SA that is showing exceptional performance in this series. Indians were favorite for this series but the Kohli/BCCI tussle is badly hurting Indian cricket team performance. India don't have good bilateral series record at SA, it was expected India will change that record this time.

I don't know whether the ongoing dispute between Kohli and BCCI has anything to do with the poor performance of the Indian team. During the last match, it was the bowlers who failed to perform. Captaincy tactics from KL Rahul was not up to the mark, as he refused to provide any opportunity to Venkatesh Iyer to test his medium pace. Shardul Thakur was going at a rate of more than 7 runs per over, and at this point I thought that Venkatesh would have done a better job. Just confirms my view that Shreyas Iyer is a much better captain, when compared to Rahul.

If they really want to use these young players effectively then both Iyers in the middle order(Shreyas and Venkatesh) need a long rope, like 2-3 complete series and not just 1 match every now n then. Don't want to see another Ambati Rayudu fiasco in the middle order.

Not to forget superb knock from Rassie van der Dussen, 129 on 96 balls along with his captain support. Temba Bavuma was a bit slow in scoring runs, scored 110 with S/R of just 76 but the main point is he kept the other end while Rassie was scoring runs. You can't do much when you are chasing 296.

I do not think the ongoing dispute is the reason for India's loss. South Africa really played well in the first ODI. They had lost very quick 3 wickets but an amazing knock by Rassie van der Dussen was the primary reason for India's loss. Another reason is that India's lower middle order also collapsed very quickly. If Thakur hadn't contributed his 50 then India would have lost the match by a big margin.

They added Venkatesh as all rounder in the team and they didn't even bother to give him 2-3 overs? Yeah, it seems the new skipper's decision making was the reason for the defeat in the first ODI even India got decent start initially. I guess Venkatesh Iyer should open for India and KL Rahul at four. Also, I guess Instead of playing 2 spinners in South Africa, India need to go with one more pacer to have better bowling attack. India need to fix many things to stay alive in this oneday series not sure how Dravid and Rahul combo going to address at this crucial time.

Probably India will make 2 or more changes to have better approach on both batting and bowling still KL Rahul's plans on high pressure times is a key here. In my opinion also, KL Rahul did few questionable decisions in IPL's last 2 seasons.

India Maharajas and Asian Lions match is in progress where all the legends are playing. If you want to see Irfran Pathan and Shoaib Akhtar in action, then this is a must watch T20 Match. An interesting series "Legends League Cricket 2022". Other than India Maharajas and Asian Lions, there is another team World Giants which will be in action tomorrow.

The committee probably felt that Rahul could do a good job as a captain since he has experience related to that role and he is great batsman+WK, but they clearly ignored the fact that he isn't really a good captain.

I wouldn't choose Pant either as captain for similar reasons. I would choose Ashwin as test captain, Bumrah/S Iyer as ODI captain and Rohit/Dhawan/Bumrah as T-20 captain.
