With new younger generations of stars, the competitions inside the league is really tough. It's interesting if which team will sign him up kowing that he already past from his prime. Though he's still aiming to play it's tough decision for each team as there are fresh legs who can play the same position as him with a very high chance developing their skills. PBA's old timers will be lucky if there's still coach who wanted their service to play alongside with thier team. Best of luck for Sol, hope to see him this coming season,.

What platforms allow betting on the PBA? Is there an online outlet that will stream these games for free? I've never heard of this league, but would be very curious to see how different it is from the NBA. Have any of the Philippine Basketball Association players ever made it to the NBA or the G-league?

What platforms allow betting on the PBA?
Online crypto bookies like Sportsbet, Nitrogen offer betting odds in the PBA. Is there an online outlet that will stream these games for free?
AFAIR, they broadcast their games free on Facebook and we, locals watch it free on local television. I've never heard of this league, but would be very curious to see how different it is from the NBA.
It's the oldest league in Asia and the style of plays Filipino players adapt is not that much different from the Americans as they are the ones who introduced this game to us (someone correct me if i'm wrong on this). Basketball in the Philippines is like a religion and almost every kid know how to play it but unfortunately we are not too gifted with physical aspect needed in this sport . Have any of the Philippine Basketball Association players ever made it to the NBA or the G-league?
So far no pure Filipino blood make it to the NBA but there are prospects like the name Kai Sotto, he is now playing on the G-league. Jordan Clarkson and Jalen Green have Filipino roots in them and the former have played for the Gilas squad in Asian Games while the latter have yet to see action with the Philippine squad. Nice to see you inquiring on our favorite league OG and mind you, we played and bet for this game online or offline, sort of a past time. Hope other users will add inputs to your questions. Edit: If i may add, the PBA bubble just concluded last December and the opening of the next season will be on April 2021.

What platforms allow betting on the PBA?
There are no games yet for PBA games. The next season starts on April 9, 2021. I've seen some bets before on sportsbet.io and cloudbet but in stake, I haven't but maybe someone who did bet through stake can testify if there's one if it comes back. Is there an online outlet that will stream these games for free?
Yes, usually you can just search it on Facebook search box during a scheduled match. In YT, I don't think I've seen one but if there will be, I think it's just another guy who wants to stream it for free. I've never heard of this league, but would be very curious to see how different it is from the NBA.
It's like the NBA of the Philippines. There are conferences that allow imports and a conference for all Filipino players. Have any of the Philippine Basketball Association players ever made it to the NBA or the G-league?
The recent one on G League is Kai Sotto, a very young and tall kid. But in NBA, there should be one before, I think more than a decade or two and it should be Johnny Abarrientos but I can't remember what happened on why it didn't pursue.

In most cases, popular sports betting websites here covered PBA betting. The PBA just finished the last season a month ago so there's no betting yet. Is there an online outlet that will stream these games for free?
Sports5 Youtube Channel. Have any of the Philippine Basketball Association players ever made it to the NBA or the G-league?
100% pure-blooded Filipino, none. But with Filipino roots, they either played directly on the States or already a citizen there.

While we are seeing some players are signing a new contract, we did not noticed that Sol still has no contract in the PBA.
Do you think it's the end of this career?
Come to think of it, it's impossible that teams aren't aware that Sol Mercado is a free agent prior to entering the bubble. Teams have a list for that and always updated. And players have a so-called agent that reaches teams in case of negotiating a deal. Sol Mercardo said that teams aren't aware that he's a free agent so by the time they learned it, most teams now have a full roster. I'm thinking the other way. Likely, no teams are interested. On the positive side, Sol is still better than those young players today that still underperforming in the league so a veteran contract still makes sense. With around 3 months to go before the opening of the new conference, there's a chance that Sol might get another shot playing on the league. I've never heard of this league, but would be very curious to see how different it is from the NBA.
Nice to see OG lurking in this thread. Since some already answered your questions, I will respond to this question instead. To summarized, PBA season is composed of 3 conferences so yes, there will be 3 champion teams in a season. And the total overall games here is just around 36 games (not including playoffs), a bit fewer to 72-82 games of NBA excluded of the pre-season and playoffs games. And since it's PBA, only Filipino citizens are allowed to be sign except when hiring imports on 2 conferences.

Not bad for Justin Chua. After losing MIP award, Justin Chua wins new three-year Phoenix dealGood things will come for players who are working hard to improve. Though he did not win the Most Improved Player award but we can see how improve he was during the last season. He is still young, he will eventually win one if he continues to work hard for his team.

There's really no transparency in the contract amount, I tried to find the amount of contract in 3 years but I cannot find it. Justin Chua is an important player for the team due to his hassle, I think he is also making a decent salary like the stars of the team, maybe lower a bit. He is already 31 years old based on the article, it's not young IMO but his maturity in the game has already improved, he is a versatile big man as he is also confident in shooting 3 points. It's always been that way, even at JMF the best player in the PBA, we don't know what his actual salary is, so let's just assume that they are paid well that's why they are still choosing the PBA league despite there's other existing basketball league in the Philippines.

Maximum salary cap of a PBA player is P420,000 monthly, which is P5.04 million annually, that offer is for those who so-called superstar. If he signed a 3-year deal mostly he gain something near to that. I read an article where a star like Terrence Romeo only get P200K per month after joining the SMB franchise, he sacrifices his salary for the sake of winning a title? not sure but in the event of formality or for the sake of team's salary cap he might be getting that in paper but there are more behind it something like under the table deal.

I don't think there's an under the table deal, SMB is a big company, all their cash flow are monitored and it's under the table, the player will violate the tax law as that is under declaration of salary. I think it's most likely that Terrence is after of the bonuses SMB management are giving because SMB is a team that is always favored to win a championship.

Just like the mentality of RR Pogoy. https://pba.ph/news/perez-says-its-team-first-more-than-individual-honorPerez says its team first more than individual honor CJ Perez doesn't mind ending up empty-handed in the last PBA Special Awards Night.
For him, it's still team above everything else. But the big question is, can he carry his team with the present line up? He is the only star of the team, A Gilas player, compared to other teams where their rosters are filled with Gilas players, particularly the SMB teams. I think it will take time for this team to be a championship contender and I'm afraid that CJ Perez will realize someday that he is just wasting his talent in his present team. Hopefully that time will not come.

After that title for Romeo, he will have an increase for sure. But the incentives that SMB will give to its players and franchise, they are for sure going to be generous after all that has been done. I want to ask guys if the PBA management has coordination with the contracts that are the franchises giving to their players? since we're already talking about contracts and salary.

Php200K might be small to a player with a talent like Terrence Romeo but what they are after is the incentives and bonuses when they are in the playoffs and fighting for the championships in which SMB is always doing and some of them were offered endorsement deal, maybe that is what you mean "under the table" but actually that's part of the contract. Do you guys remember the offer sheet of Tanduay Rum to Danny Ildenfonso I once shared on this thread? That is one hell of an offer and you can see there the amount of money they get when getting into the playoffs.

Aside from that legal incentives for sure there's additional offers that we might not be aware, but thanks for providing that information, most of the time player transfer to another team due to an offer that they can't resist, or some might be interested in winning a title so instead of staying and treated as a superstar they tend to transfer joining co-superstars to win a ring. Do you guys remember the offer sheet of Tanduay Rum to Danny Ildenfonso I once shared on this thread? I remember that perks but SMB is still the best in terms of providing serious offers, The very reason why every players desire to take part of their company.

Definitely, that's why it's the SMB teams who are dominating the PBA because they are full of talents. Last time it was the San Miguel Beermen who became champion and it's Ginebra in the previous season, and next season, the favorites will only be between the two. I think TNT is a big group as well, but unfortunately, they just can't win against a veteran SMB teams.

Do you guys remember the offer sheet of Tanduay Rum to Danny Ildenfonso I once shared on this thread? That is one hell of an offer and you can see there the amount of money they get when getting into the playoffs.
I did not read it here but I was curious so I did a search, and here's what I found. https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/bonus-scheme-in-danny-ildefonso-offer-sheet-from-tanduay-a1374-20200507?ref=article_tagThe basic salary is very small compared to the bonuses, damn, that's why some players choose to be playing in a good team.

I believed in under the table. Of course, it won't be disclosed in public. For SMB to acquired Terrence Romeo on the said trade, they need to deduct the salary of other SMB players to fit with PBA's salary cap. PBA has set a salary cap that's why Terrence ended up on Php 200,000 a month and a salary deduction for other players. If no under the table involved, then maybe, Terrence would end up below Php 200,000. Bonuses are after the championship, not a fixed salary so for players to agree, there should be a separate discussion. It's legal since SMB is still following the PBA salary cap terms. There is no way SMB superstars will accept a salary deduction for just a Terrence Romeo without a good agreement with the SMB management.

Kai Sotto has never turned his back on the national team. Kai Sotto has formally announced that he would be joining Gilas Pilipinas in the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers which the country will be hosting in February in a bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
NBA dream is over? I don't know if you have the article in which Kai Sotto decided to go home and play for Gilas. This decision of his has spark a controversy with the netizens. If he play for Gilas, this means that he will leave G-league as it is a conflict with regards to scheduling. What's your thought on this? Does people around Kai Sotto finally give up of giving our country the dream of having the first pure Filipino blood to be playing in the NBA? https://www.cnnphilippines.com/sports/2021/1/21/Kai-Sotto-join-Gilas-February-window-FIBA-Asia-Cup-qualifiers.html
