For a veteran honestly, his numbers last season are good. And regardless if he still has the shooting stroke before, BlackWater has no choice but to give him more minutes on the floor as the reason in the first place why they signed KG is because their key shooters are now traded.

BW is looking for key scorers but they trade the much younger and improving Don Trollano and now expecting a veteran to fill up the hole lol. Well, part of the three-team deal and BW's advantage here is they will get the TNT draftees in the future. Hope they are in the right track.

Phoenix, Alaska, and ROS I think are the only teams that are not taking involves in this alleged farm trade, correct me if I'm wrong. I really like to see someday in the Finals that there are no SMC or MVP teams involved.

I may be wrong with this but Independent teams = Farm teams of MVP and SMC.

First, they traded away Ray Parks for players that isn't comparable with his overall performance. Now they traded Belo into another team although this is a better trade for them. Now I think that they traded Shaw into another team (not sure). Like TerraFirma, they are just giving away their star players and they will just make a reason that they will "build-up" or "rebuild" blah blah.

This is the reason why the competitiveness of the league is slowly disappearing. We always see the same teams in the Finals for the past years. I will not be surprised though if they will trade their draft picks this season too in the future.

P.S. I forgot that they got Andre Paras in the recent draft pick. Their owner said that it was the biggest steal in the draft pick. Any takeaways with this?? Aside from the marketing side which is pretty obvious.

Not a bad pick for me. Even Andre Paras was focused more on his showbiz career before, he's still the best against most players in the league in terms of basketball performance. He is a basketball enthusiast since he was a kid, a college player (on which it's hard to be selected), and others say more athletic than Kobe Paras if he seriously pursues his basketball career way back.

Let see if he will able to help the BlackWater's rally this upcoming season. If his performance will be good throughout the season, watch out for trading him to a big team.

No it's not, the last i knew it's Php150K max a month for a rookie while it's Php400K+ for a superstar.

If the rookie is overwhelming good, i think there is something given under the table.

I remember once that Pringle have that situation, though we have no proof but i do think the agent is the one settling this issue.

They're different but he could be classified as tier 1 in the rookies but has to upgrade for the upcoming years to get the same maximum contract as what the superstars are getting.

That's the very reason why stars are eyeing to land with either SMB Corp or Pangilinan group of companies for  much better bonuses.

And as well as a better stay which will really land them security as they stay on those teams.

There's really a big difference, so for 3 years this rookie is only getting 150k per month, I guess that's only a small amount considering the inflation now and that he might not receive a lot of bonuses and the like since he is not playing in a championship contender team.

The chance is very low but let's hope for that.

When coach Yeng was still coaching the Rain or Shine, I remember they went into the Finals and even win.

Those classic games and Paul Lee was still their main man, lots of things have already change with the Rain or shine now but they still have that swag in the court that's why I love this team. They are now under a new coach, hopefully they'll improve this season.

A player that isn't that good in shooting although he can shoot threes but the strength of Paras is the fact that he is very hardworking inside the paint. In his past leagues, he averaged about 6-7 rebounds a game and there is one time that he got 20+ rebounds in 2 consecutive games. That enough can be a proof that he will be a good addition to the team. I just hope that they will give him enough minutes because he can be a good rebounder although his height is shorter compare to the other big guys in the league like Sanggalang, Fajardo, Aguilar, Almazan etc.

If I'm not mistaken, there is a max cap salary of a rookie player though I don't know the exact amount but it is definitely lower than other players (correct me if I'm wrong though). The problem with PBA is they aren't transparent especially with the salary of a player unlike in NBA where you can see all of their salaries.

I will not be surprised if Munzon will be traded into either SMC or MVP team in the next years especially into SMB where their star players are at their post-prime already. I see Dyip as a farming team nothing more and they proved it many times already . Lets just hope that they will not trade Munzon or even Adams in the future if they really want to "rebuild" the team.

We can't blame the people, they are just frustrated seeing that a team is starting to improve but suddenly their best player is traded. Blackwater and DYIP is very much consistent with that....Hmmm.. I'm bored now, I can't wait to see the season opens as I have more luck in PBA than in NBA.

They are known to be a farm team so I expect this to happen, I don't know if they have bargain agreement to big companies but this activities should be stop so that PBA will not be wreck. The game is pretty much predictable right now so hoping the top management of PBA will give back the balance of the game so that we can enjoy watching it the same as before .

Generally, it's not the same per player regardless if they are rookie, veteran, etc. In a simple explanation, max deal "within" the allowed cap for a player. In that case, that rookie was offered the maximum salary on that tier. Not all rookies are being offered on that kind of contract.

That's the problem of PBA. No clear information was available to the public. Even Coach Yeng before having concerns regarding the difference of minimum and maximum salaries to be offered and allowed per team.

We don't see any interest with those teams because they haven't proved themselves to be a caliber as a champ. But that soon will change if ever they'll get in even just to the finals.
