I thought that the PBA will postponed all of the games after a certain player and referee got positive to the virus, maybe I am not fully updated on the basketball league in the Philippines. The recent news that I only heard where Calvin Abueva finally able to play again and he have monster stats in this first game after being suspended in many months. The whole PBA is still lack of strict health protocols I think and it is the reason why there are doubts that the virus are spreading throughout the bubble. I do not know if it is really a bubble because there are players out there who are still engaging in some fans who are near the hotels. The staffs also in the hotels in the bubble are not stay in so there is a high possibility that they can be infected by the virus in their community.

Yes, they postponed some games but unexpectedly they came back early as most of our expectations, and that is a good news for us who love to watch and support the PBA. For sure with the new protocol it will be more strict to prevent any postponement of happening.

If they start implementing much tighter rules just like how they did it with Abueva then we will see more cleaner games. It's not a good thing as professional players young fans should be watching honest and entertaining games without unnecessary flagrant fouls.

Sometimes things happened due to their emotions and as humans it's really unavoidable but indeed still there.

With much better and tighter rules then it will control players not to do it.
Knowing that the chance of being penalized with more strict rules then they will be more careful.

These days they have to literally survive. A basketball can now just fly 1 kilometer into the air. Am afraid it is going to be a complete mess in this country now.

They are really catching up to the delays. Lots of triples to quadruple headers in a day. That was tiring as some teams need to play every day. But at least, the resume gives them an assurance that their bubble is now safe.

Agree. Depends on how serious the flagrant foul, they should really give a respective hard sanction for it.

Not just because they are being watched by fans but it will give a lesson for other players not to do irresponsible plays as it will cost them something serious big in return.

It's good to see the PBA take an action about flagrant fouls but this is just minimal issue which doesn't really need a big punishment since if they will put a more stricter rule about it then maybe the league plays will became soften and we cannot see those physicality way back then which add the intensity of the game.

I do hope PBA will not create a bad decision since lately PBA is boring and I'm not watching every now and then compare before.

Update: The last round of testing showed all 12 teams are negative in COVID-19.

PBA will be back in action again on Tuesday and will start early at 10AM (Philippine time)

It will not destroy the physicality of the game, in fact PBA are tolerating the physicality especially in this Filipino cup and that resulted to low scoring, but flagrant foul are excessive fouls already, not necessary to hurt an opponent just to foul and it could create a chaos if this would happen, so PBA penalizing early and implementing the rules is really a good thing to promote a clean games for the PBA.

I also noticed that, refs are letting those physicality they are not calling that much and allow players to get some skin out. There's no need for excessive fouls.

Drawing some excess physical moves is not healthy, as players can go emotional and buy it creating more unnecessary actions.

With implemented rules and strict compliance from the league organizers and franchise owners,
players are more obliged, clean games with all talents are more better than actions that will create
fights that can be watched live by young fans.

SMC got a reputation about acquiring a potential star from the other team to make sure their spot on playoffs and even on finals so let's hope the Phoenix management will not come with the deal like this and keep rebuilding their line up with the current one since I'm sure if they got the perfect chemistry in the court they might take the championship in future.
