[Players that get an injury and got successful operation usually makes their body weak. But I wish that he can still go back to old Jason Castro where many are admiring the way he plays. Just like Kevin Durant, he went into an injury too and came back just as usual into the current season of NBA.
I'm just trying to compare the situation and wishing his health the best.

Unfortunately, even without an injury, we can see that Castro is really slowing down. And at his veteran age 34 and he just suffered that injury, there's no way we can see the old Jason Castro once he comes back. Durant was 30 years old when he tore his Achilles and we are behind in terms of medical technology compared to then. He also rested for a long and management is spending millions to take care of their players that's why some players that come from injury in NBA can still explode once recovered.

We will miss the old Jayson Castro. I even badly miss the old Jimmy Alapag. Hope one of the young players in the PBA can be like them or even much better.

Castro has not anymore participated in the international competition, even in himself, he understands that he is not as good as when he was still younger. At this point, what his focus is to get back healthy again and contribute to the team the best he can do. TNT understands that anytime Castro would retire so they sign Ray Park to prepare him when Castro is out.

Now that he's aging, maybe we will see TR7 or Keifer Ravena to step up or maybe another super rookie player that will bring a new twist handling the ball.

Terrence Romeo could be close to Jayson Castro but not as smart as him. I wish Romeo will not struggle with injuries too, I love seeing him in the court and he really provides great offense, I believe he just need to master how to be a real good point guard like Castro but he has the talent already, he just need to improve it.

Keifer Ravena? hmmm... I don't see the potential yet, though he is good but not in the level of Romeo yet.

He's the most consistent player in Ginebra in the bubble up to the Finals. We all see that. Others even consider him as the Finals MVP.

I agree, well deserved, they won the championship and he did a great contribution to that.

Also, we have to talk about other awards, written from same article.

Thompson was awarded the Samboy Lim Sportsmanship Award while Caperal was named the bubble season's Most Improved Player.

I didn't expect Caperal would win, such an underrated player but we all saw his contribution to the team.

The only thing i wonder is why Ray Parks who is the leader in SP didn't even make into the "Elite 5".

I guess it's based on the impact of the team? Instead of him, they get Poy Erram.. I'm really not sure of this one too.

Calvin will eventually get an MVP award, I'm betting on him next season.. Hard because Fajardo will be coming back, but if Calvin will continue to play the kind of basketball he showed in the bubble, he has a big shot.

Fans' corner: PBA needs to explain questionable criteria for awards

One of the most questioned parts is the computation for the Best Player of the Conference. Statistical points make up the majority of the criteria at 40 percent. PBA Press Corps votes are set at 30 percent followed by 25 percent coming from the players and five percent from the league office. However, many fans are at loss on how the 500 votes from the PBA comprises only of the five percent of the criteria when in the totality of points, it is much higher than the total points from the players' votes of 180 votes which should be at 25%.

I agree with the results of BPC. No complaints. What fans are complaining about is the other awards and especially how's the Top 5 have been chosen. Statistically based, we are expecting that all Top 5 prior to the awards night will be the finalist but other players got in due to the percentage of voting.

If PBA were able to explain this, then good so that there will be no accusation of "politics" involved here. But for those people that will complain that Stanley Pringle isn't deserving, then I think it's not appropriate.

I also agree with the results thus, can we change them? no. The fandom has too much disappointment because they haven't seen their idols won the awards of they didn't see this coming. But if the PBA management has to explain all the necessary details how they'd picked those awardees, then that will make those complainants or not satisfied fans to be satisfied if they will consider the explanation. But if it doesn't still stop them complaining, there's nothing much that can be done for them.

Actually it's true that you can't please everyone, we have our favorite players and we are expecting that they will win an award because we believe they are contributing to the team as expected. However, the winners are chosen in different criteria, it's not an public election where they will explain, it's their league, they should not be question.

40% average statistical points.
30% press and media votes.
25% players' votes.
5% Commissioner's Office.

Made a little research on the criteria for selecting the BPC and above is what i found.

Even if you are the SP's frontrunner and you are not friendly with the media and with your co-players, i think you would not made it.

The above criteria explains why Abueva have not gotten even a single BPC award and this is also the reason why Fajardo, a talented and very humble, friendly to the media got 8 BPCs and 6 MVPs.

How about Parks, do we see here the new Calvin Abueva?

surely people will not agree with the decision, I'm also shocked by the announcement of the winner but, I guess we can't complain since it's their decision, they can say who they want to announce as a winner, but for the fans, they know who the real winner is, I think the 30% press and media votes give way for pringle since as we know how popular gins, but I don't know, anyway congrats to the BPC pringle.

I get that point, yes it's possible because Ray Parks loves to score but he does not have a lot of fans compared to the most humble guy in the PBA which is JMF and the beast Calvin. Maybe because he is still new and he hasn't won a championship yet in this career, it needs a championship win for a superstar to get respect.

Calvin Abueva vows to do even better after 'bitin' comeback season

JMF always does, if he struggles, he can still get a double double, at least 10 rebounds and 10 points, and if he is having a good game, he can make 15-20 rebound and 30-40 points, that's how dominant he is.

For Calvin Abueva, he doesn't need to say that because we already know he will do better, we did not even expect that he will have a good performance in the bubble after years of break.

Good mindset of him, we know that Pogoy is not a type of player that loves to shine only in the team, he is very humble and wants to help his team to win, and that's the reason why I believe Pogoy will soon be a champion. TNT should give him a max contract, I don't know his current salary now but if he will get signed again, I wish TNT will value his contribution like Castro.

His day of going to the podium will come. RR Pogoy is one of PBA's no-nonsense guy, all hardwork when he is on the court, for sure he will be rewarded with an award for that.

The good thing about Pogoy is he is a two way kind of player, plays offense and defense and seldom he will be benched for an off night.

AFAIK, his salary is not yet on the maximum but who knows someday he will get that.
